Macmilla:Yes, and it's not an ECT 2 sensor. Can we move on to something else now? |
| Re: The HONDA Club by Conner44: 4:15pm On Oct 05, 2024 |
jceesquare:You are lying. In your post on the 1st page you clearly indicated that there was nothing plugged into your radiator but now you are telling us that there was something plugged into it meanwhile the picture you yourself posted is still there for us to see. You are not a straightforward person. You lack integrity. You are here trying to grab customers to handle their vehicles meanwhile you are not even someone who stands behind his own words. I will warn people about you here. We won't move on from this until you come clean. Ahh, just look at the shameful way you twisted your mouth to claim you have a sensor down there when you clearly stated you have nothing plugged into it in the post preceeding your pictures on the first page. you even went ahead to reference the MAF sensor too being on some accords and not all in that same post to buttress your point of the radiator having NOTHING plugged into it. You are a bad mechanic. A liar as well. You are not to be trusted with the vehicles of hardworking nairalanders at all. My eyes are on you

Conner44:When you're done masturbating let me know. I didn't modify or change anything in the post. I stated clearly that IT DOES NOT HAVE AN ECT 2 SENSOR attached to it. I also made reference to the fact that all 3 cars do not have an engine related code (which would be unusual for any car with a tampered ECT circuit) I even made mistake with the year for the other 4 cylinder with the ECT 2 sensor but let it slide for this same purpose. Weather mine has a fan switch and it's not connected is another thing entirely. The argument from the get go has been presence of ECT 2 sensor on all 7th gen Accord which I told you and had always maintained that not all of them come with it. This is my last response to this issue as I've seen you've gone to the mud and I'm not going to stoop that low to swim in murky waters with you. Peace and cheers. |

jceesquare:Bros you are the one that caused all this long talk. I was only trying to get you to be specific on your claims and even till now, you still don't want to say it. Pleas pardon corner44, we are just trying to avoid confusion here. Initially you said you do not have an ECT sensor on your 03 accord, you didn't specify that what you have is a fan switch. You supported your claim with a picture in which we couldn't see any sensor. So I was asking you to be specific so I and others here could learn. Now you agreed you have something on your radiator but it is not an ECT sensor. So now, do you agree that you have a fan switch in your 03 accord and that what I said was right? Please just answer for the sake of people that will read this thread in the future. Thanks. |

Macmilla:Normally, when a sensible person finds himself in a hole the best action to take is to STOP DIGGING right? Well, jceesquare just dug himself a wonderful tunnel on this thread today by his own hands ✋️ 👏 and it seems it's still a 'work in progress ' 😆 This thread will always be available and viewable by other sensible nairalanders and they can judge things for themselves. |

jceesquare:Well, English is not my mother tongue, so I mess things up sometimes. Maybe I missed your answer or maybe I just didn't understand the English. Please just answer one last time. jceesquare:This is the only answer I could find. You only said what it is not, but never told us what it is. Why is it so difficult for you to say? |

ThePundit14:There was a time I was having this code showing up too on my EOD after I bought a new 02 sensor. All I did was to unplug and plug back the 02 switch and the code disappeared, but I had a Chinese catalyst installed. Your own case is quite dicey because you do not have a catalyst. And there's no way that code will come up and it won't bring out CEL. Anyway I'll advice you rescan your car, and if the 02 sensor shows up, you need to get it replaced. But if all the code you have is just about the catalyst, then I'll suggest you get the Chinese one installed in your car, it does the job and I've been using mine for 2yrs plus. Two months ago when I asked for the price it was sold for 45k, I don't know what it goes for now. I hope this helps |

jceesquare:Bro, I'm still waiting for more explanation on this with sitings, videos, articles, TSB, YouTube videos or anything at all that will educate me on this claim. I love learning, unlearning and relearning but only verifiable facts. The least you can do is explain to us how your experience brought you to this conclusion. |
| Re: The HONDA Club by Bola4boy(m): 7:03am On Oct 06, 2024 |
Omo, the radiator for my honda accord 2005 is 65k. I no get that money. Fortunately, when I removed the radiator, they were able to get a space to fix fan switch as we couldn't get ect sensor 2. The fan switch did its own work by making fan come up when hot and the car acceleration improved. No rpm fluctuations. And I used the opportunity to work my radiator cos muds are stuck there. So there's progress But I'll only be contented if I get it's own ect sensor. |

Macmilla:Pls I just bought a Honda Accord 2009 and needs to change the coolant. Pls which coolant should I get. Any time I go to the market to get coolant I get confused. Pls your advise will be greatly appreciated. |
| Re: The HONDA Club by Conner44: 11:58am On Oct 06, 2024 |
escohido123:Go to oyingbo and buy the original honda coolant. It is blue in color. Honda Genuine. Google it's look. |
| Re: The HONDA Club by Cryomancer(op): 5:32pm On Oct 06, 2024 |
escohido123:Willoughby Street in Oyingbo is your best place to get genuine Honda radiator coolant. Or you can simply contact luvinhubby to waybill one to you. I buy mine from him. |
| Re: The HONDA Club by Cryomancer(op): 5:35pm On Oct 06, 2024 |
Bola4boy:Glad you're making progress. However, just like you've said, kindly get the radiator once you have the financial strength for it. Radiator related issues are scary and the damage to car is always a nightmare. I always run away from anything that involves fixing or bypassing radiator for any reason, I'll rather park the car till further notice. I learnt the hard way. |
| Re: The HONDA Club by Bola4boy(m): 4:44pm On Oct 07, 2024 |
Cryomancer:I didn't actually by Pass anything on the radiator. The only thing is that fan switch was.put in place of the ect sensor. Once I get the sensor, everything would be back to factory settings. Another question? Is it compulsory to install thermostat even if the fan isn't on direct. It comes on at a certain temperature |
| Re: The HONDA Club by Conner44: 6:53pm On Oct 07, 2024 |
Bola4boy:See, to be frank with you. Installing your thermostat is FAR MORE IMPORTANT than running your cooling fans via the brainbox/with switches. Why? Let's see the advantages & disadvantages of each below 1. Using a thermostat would ensure your vehicle's temperature rises to its optimal range QUICKLY (this would make you not waste fuel from a cold start until when your vehicle's engine gets into a closed loop). Without a thermostat you can waste as little as 3 liters to as much as 5 litres just for your vehicle to get into this closed loop situation, and if you don't drive far (10 miles and above) you will never force your engine into a closed loop state. This means you will always be wasting fuel everytime you drive. 2. Using a thermostat would ensure that your engine oil gets to its optimal flow rate on time. When your vehicle is cold your engine oil is naturally thicker than when it's hot. And when you drive with a cold engine (with a thicker engine oil) you will gradually be degrading your engine cylinder walls and this will soon lead to a smokey engine. I am sure you wouldn't want your engine to START SMOKING even with diligent and timely oil changes right? 2. Using the thermostat would make your vehicles RPM stabilise at its normal range (650 rpm-750 rpm) early and make your engine run quietly as intended from factory. If you drive without a thermostat it's usual for your rpms to be as high as 900 -1,000 rpm everytime you drive and this makes your engine loud plus wastes fuel unnecessarily. Now about running your fans either directly or via switches/brainbox: The ONLY advantage or disadvantage with this option is that your cooling fan motors will last longer with it coming on and off automatically instead of running all the time once you turn your ignition key. Plus your battery will last longer too as the stress of the fans motor won't always be on it. Now as you can see from my examples above it is even far better to run your fans directly SO FAR AS YOU HAVE YOUR THERMOSTAT INSTALLED IN THE ENGINE than to run it via the automatic route without any thermostat because before your fans come on it will take a far longer time and you will be burning excessive fuel 80% of the time while you drive. I hope you understand what I just posted. |

Pls which one is better? tokunbo or brand new thermostat |

I couldn't get new thermostat, I had to settle for tokunbo. I'll test it with hot water before fixing it |

Conner44:Hello, I just got my first car. A honda accord 2005 with 4cyl engine. I noticed my temperature guage going into the red and pulled over, turns out both fans weren't running at all. Checked all the fuses and noticed the AC fuse in the under dash fusebox was burnt. Fixed it and both fans came back to life. After doing all my checks, turns out a kazeem had connected both the AC condenser fan and engine cooler fan to the AC blower relay. I'm looking to return it back to factory spec, but not sure how to proceed with it. The relays for both fans are okay, and the fan fuses are also okay. |

Macmilla:Good day all I’m very much interested in getting accord eod or dc I4 engine. My biggest concern with this car is the lower or upper arm failure, in country like ours, one won’t want to be be stranded at certain times or places Please how best to maintain these parts and not experience this failure as I think Honda accord is very superior to its rival Don’t have money for the 2013 upward model 😅 for now |
| Re: The HONDA Club by Cryomancer(op): 9:31pm On Oct 08, 2024 |
DarkRider:Glad you were very observant of your temperature gauge. I don't know how tech savvy you are with vehicle components, but I'll advise you engage a professional with it if this is your first time, since you'll be installing a thermostat. One wrong move could cost dearly. Maybe the elders in the house could guide you through. |

ehmmy11:Very great car. I currently use EOD and since my purchase, I have never had any leg pull neither have I been stranded. Since I know that the double wishbone that the Honda leg uses is not as reliable as the MacPherson found in other vehicles, I give more attention to it by always checking it's condition every month and go for a replacement between 6-8months depending on my vehicle usage and road condition. All the replaced ones are in my toolbox and a very much in good condition as well but I still change them just to ensure I do due diligence. Also, if your shock, lower/upper arm bushing, engine and gear mount isn't in good condition, it might also impact negatively on your ball joint. The secret to all it for me is to have a very good maintenance culture and attention to details. If you wish to cut corners or you lack maintenance culture, Honda vehicles will deal with you terribly. I hope this helps. |

Cryomancer:same here, I have never experienced any leg pull since I have been using my 2005 eod. And I do.see almighty Toyota pull legs sometimes for road. I just smile |
| Re: The HONDA Club by Cryomancer(op): 10:00pm On Oct 08, 2024 |
Bola4boy:There's currently one Toyota matrix in my estate in the middle of the road since Sunday morning with a leg pull that the owner must have abandoned due frustration I guess. I laugh each time I drive by..🤣🤣🤣🤣 |
