At this point, there's no justification for starting Gabriel Jesus and Sterling in any match that is not FA cup or Carabao cup.
Which brings the question

Why get the Sterling in the 1st place grin

Obviously Arteta believes in signing players who can play from all sides of the front 3. Unfortunately Sterling is watched and none of us support his signing ; but it is what it is.

We are just supporters who don't have a say in who the team signs or not.

For Stats

Our CBs are no more in top 10 overall passes by a player like last season.
We no dey tackles table throughout last season but we are 7games in.
We are top for corner kicks total so far

These are the changes observed so far.

Make this comeback against relegation teams stop abeg o. 2nd game running. Shey Arteta no get formula to stop that from becoming a pattern ni? undecided

🙌🏿🙌🏿🙌🏿🙌🏿 To Kai Havertz once again. Merino gbera o.

Man should wake up abeg. 😂😂😂😂

This game is enough to tell him that he goofed getting him.

Na why talking is what we can do na.

By our standards, Lei and Sou getting 3goals against us no sweet my belle. We suppose score them 10 combined sef. If not for that silly 1st half.

Sterling caused the goal by his stupiid play. He was looking for a freekick after overturning the ball which led to the goal.

I'm glad Arteta took him off and brought in better players who secured a victory for us.

The only flaw from the lineup was starting Gabriel Jesus. I would have prefer Ethan starts instead.

Every other choice was spot on.

Saka is just Saka.

A big shout-out to Havertz. What a well taken goal!

Martinelli is rugged, energetic and fearless, if only he can add a little bit of intelligence to his game. That's what Trossard has ahead of him.

All in all, that was a nice game.

2. Saka's G/A

Na still him i blame. Nothing this guy do today wey new for all his comps and highlights. E don reach where i dey wonder if coachie dey see wetin we dey see cos his highlights at Chelsea was enough for a manager like MA. The joy on Chelsea fans pages when he crossed over again. Why i fear this kine consistency is that days or nights we least expect it to bite us, na then e go kon haunt us. E go kon be like old 'we told you so'

If he wants squad rotation, sterling na the least player to qualify to fit in. Na minus 3 at this rate.

Well, as a fan u are free to blame anybody u choose to blame ; it's ur right.

But one thing that is obvious is that we've been clamouring for Arteta to stop starting Martinelli due to his drop in performance and he eventually listens today by starting Sterling instead.

It's obvious Arteta believes in Playing trossard as a makeshift playmaker in the absence of Odegaarf hence why Trossard did not replace Martinelli in the starting lineup.

Sterling didn't play badly against Bolton so it is understandable why Arteta decided to give him his first starting role in the EPL in a less serious match like Southampton.

I hope Sterling don't start going forward and only gets to play as a substitute till he shows some level of improvement in his play.

Bro... Thank God this is coming from you. A lot here were even bashing Arteta for failing to rotate his players in previous seasons. He tried it today and what did we get here? Complains and swears.

The reason why I mentioned Jesus was because he was getting in the way of other players. There were times we had Sterling, Jesus, Calafiori and Rice on the LW leaving the box empty.

Normally fans are hard to please. It's not just peculiar to arsenal fan base tho, it's same thing everywhere.

There are different types of football fans. There are fans who don't like the coach and will never support the coach. If he makes any mistake he will get bashed ; if he's doing well he won't be commended because that is the job he's being employed to do.

There are fans who don't like the coach initially, but get won over by the coach by his consistent performance and hope he tops it up with trophies.

There are fans who like some particular players and will always find a way to stan them even when they are not doing well.

There are fans who dislike some certain players and will never see any good in them no matter what they do. If such players drop match winning performance, they will just shrug it off and not really give them credit.

At the end of the day, if the club wins a trophy all the fan base will forget about their differences and follow each other to celebrate the feat.

In summary, make we Sha win trophy and all the fan base will live happily ever after grin

Jodera 4 goals in 7 games for king Kai. 13 goals before match day 20 looking interestingly possible.

That's too far a conclusion. As for consistency, if it is reducing my being critical when i ought to and increase praise for players, that won't work. Kai came with confidence issues which his teammates helped asides the other issues. Sterling?? Oh my. Lol

I dunno about others, i can speak for myself.

No problem. Before he arrived, his style is exactly how its been for years. Trossard should have started. Ethan was there to fill that other role for the temporary. Glad you mentioned that.

As for improvement.... I hope for our sake he does. I hope.

Okay the new excuse is the coach is rotating
And we are the one that got players like sterling, jesus for him abi🤣🤣🤣

I wonder why he removed them he should have left them alone since we wanted rotation

Abii oo
But because we requested for rotation we meant sterling, jesus even partey played RB when Tomi is on bench
All this stupid experiment do we need it?
Fvck no we should have outgrown them
Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by Roland17(m): 10:41pm On Oct 05, 2024
Our 2nd goal is gradually becoming a staple.
Saka gets possession on the edge of the box, then usually, Trossard but today we saw Martinelli make a late but well timed run on the opposite side to either score or get an attempt.

Havertz, has now scored 7 consecutive goal at home. Guy stay one place make I know.. Saka looks like he is taking this year’s chase personally because he is imposing himself into the games. It would be interesting to see what happens after Odegaard returns. Would Arteta revert to the 4-1-2-3 or keep the 4-2-1-3.
