Acts 2 should clarify what the first Christians practiced.

As you can see from the law below (and especially the HIGHLIGHTED parts)-
1. It is YOU who are supposed to eat your tithes.
Do you?

2. The Levites are the Jewish race devoted to the temple and own NO property.
Is that your pastor?

3. The Levites only get A SHARE of the tithes every THREE years.
Is this what you practice?

4. And that particular (once every THREE year) tithe is also SHARED with foreigners, orphans, and widows.
When last did you share this tithe?

24 If the place of worship is too far from your home for you to carry there the tithe of the produce that the LORD has blessed you with, then do this:
25 Sell your produce and take the money with you to the one place of worship.
26 Spend it on whatever YOU want — beef, lamb, wine, beer — and there, in the presence of the LORD your God, you and your families are to eat and enjoy yourselves.
27 “Do not neglect the Levites who live in your towns; THEY HAVE NO PROPERTY OF THEIR OWN.
28 At the end of EVERY THIRD YEAR bring the tithe of all your crops and store it in your towns.
29 This FOOD IS FOR THE Levites, since they own no property, AND FOR THE FOREIGNERS, ORPHANS, AND WIDOWS who live in your towns. They are to come and get all they need. Do this, and the LORD your God will bless you in everything you do.

I disagree by 50%

1) The Law applies to Christians as you yourself have seen an exanple in Acts 2.

2) Deuteronomy is the re-emphasis of The Laws God gave to Moses to give the world. So The Laws are in Exodus to Numbers. And they state tithe is given on the first earnings or fruits and on earnings and on the increase of the earnings.

And Deuteronomy still Said it that tithe is done every year and not every 3 years as you said.

Thou shalt truly tithe all the increase of thy seed, that the field bringeth forth year by year.

And i do not yet fully understand when the tithe eating should be done but as you can see, the 3rd year Law is different and separate from tithe eating.

For here, my first view of The Law is that the tithes are taken to the gates of the town (why lazarus was at the gates) for the poor and widows to eat and of course a portion for the Levitres becsuse they have nothing.

And this tithe is not taken to the place where God has chosen to be worshipped but to the gates.

And this is where today's pastors fall short and are in trouble with God for unless they have been truly a pointed by God, they are entitled to work and not entitled to receive thhe tithes.

Did you read the verses that I shared? Cos I thought it was all spelt out clearly, so the Israelites have no excuses for disobeying.

Verse 23 Every year- Eat your tithes. By yourself.

Verse 28 Every THREE YEARS, share the tithe amongst Levites, widows, orphans and foreigners.

Many of them are supprise to know that their pastors were scamming them all these while so they are shocked to the bone

Even if they read what can they possibly understand?
I still stand to be collected, i don't think we have one single pastor in Nigeria that fully comprehend the objective of the bible, so how will church members understand?
The bible is very complex to understand
I will give you example

Acts 8:34 And the eunuch answered Philip, and said, I pray thee, of whom speaketh the prophet this? of himself, or of some other man?

The Eunuch had asked specific questions of the context of what he read.

But in the case of Nigerians, they can never ask specific questions in their minds as they are reading.
Even if they do, their questions are usually out of context.

They are so dumb, just like the way they can't respond to you now in this thread

Their minds and interests are always searching for places in the bible where they are assured that though Christ was poor, they will be rich(neglecting the real thing which is to acquire the knowledge).
They will go to church with that kind of mind-set, and pastor will quickly read their minds and give them the hope they want to hear.

Today, God will give you miracle car and house, and the whole church will shout AMMMENN!!
today, your enemies will die.
The whole church will shout Ammmenn!

At the end of the day, they will pay the tithe and offering just to listen to false hopes.
And the pastor will become rich while they remain poor.
