PHIPEX:Stop reasoning like a toddler, from time past Lagos POV as always being Urban/ mega city while ibadan enjoys being inferred as anciety city. besides lagos is a state while ibadan is just a city, mo-run! Ibadan as an ancient city is more sellable to tourist than a modern ibadan ..borrow sense Oyo state which host ibadan as capital, IGR is greater than 30 states in Nigeria or you wanna define "progress"

spagettiluv:I know. Makoko does not represent Lagos . Besides in 1970 , there were no inhabitants in makoko which is what this article is about: structures existing in 1970 to present day . |

[sub][/sub] Kingbuhari:none of them is dragging Lagos,I haven’t come across one, they are always proud of wherever they come from, that beree area is just like makoko of Lagos,it’s a small neighborhood,in fact,it is now a market for foodstuffs, those houses now serves as a warehouse for market men and women, you can visit. You will only be sTUP1d if you think that’s how the whole of IB looks like . For bolded, they live in good areas with beautiful structures, they live better than you https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_FoAYhU7VA0?si=4YoUL0tAwG-b9cb_ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NR6vhTs4sck?si=ZW5HgQYy8G00Xu77 |

Nice2023:I don't come from a village so I don't know this foolish idea that some of us come from villages, the number of Yoruba people that come from settlements that have not progressed into towns is not as you'd imagine. Unto your posts, you must not have meet people from Ijebu because those ones build mansions in their hometowns. |

Odidigboigbo:No modern building in Awolowo/Agodi axis. Are you mad or are you daft. Have you been to old bodija and new bodija. You can't even get a decent plot of land anywhere in old or new bodija for less than 50-75M at the moment. The area I grew up around oluwo kekere is just ridiculous now with the prices being asked. The area that people ascribe with the brown roof is the ancestral homes (agbo Ile) no single Ibadan child exist without agbo Ile, every single house has a dedicated alpha numeric postal code and those homes are well ordered and planned, but for the poor maintenance culture those areas had public water supply and somewhat adequate sewage. The building were built to superior quality that is why they are no dilapidated the zinc roof themselves are to a superior quality & gauge so the browning is surface rust. It the families start installing slate roofs the area would loose it's appeal. I'm sure one or two have tried but even the family members would frustrate and sabotage such efforts, they like their agbo Ile like that, remember some of these have family masquerades or family shrines attached which can't be disturbed in the pursuit of a pointless beautification. |

Omoawoke:But the old Boston building you posted was retouched. Why is it that Ibadan old buildings aren't retouched to prove indeed they are preserved? |

I don't get why people keep saying it a sign of stagnation... What do you expect? People's homes should demolished just to show progress without any offense or obstruction of road network? Besides this is only a segment of some ancient developed areas... Ibadan has huge Land Mass reasons why people aren't really interested in buying and refurbishing these houses.... Not to talk of most families are always against selling their family ancestral homes... Some families sees it as a taboo |

I have seen 1 difference. In 1970s, the drive was left hand side of the road. Seems those days Naija was neat and tidy. Hmm, who turn us like this ? |

kettykin:It's really a wonder. Yoruba land did not experience civil war. Yoruba people have never been politically marginalized since independence. Yoruba Land have always been favored first before others when it comes to Nigerian federal government policies Yorubas have produced President of Nigeria 4 times, Vice thrice. Yorubas have never experienced politics of exclusion yet take a look at their states and capital, only Lagos state built and developed by Nigeria's Federal government and all Nigerians make some sense, yet these Yorubas will be measuring dick with Igbos, honestly if I was a Yoruba person, I will ask questions and I will also start a campaign to raise awareness for other Yoruba states' massive development cos they are an eyesore considering all the federal favor and political gains Yorubas have enjoyed under Nigeria, plus their proximity to Lagos state the economic capital of Nigeria. Yoruba land did not start and end in Lagos state owned and developed by all Nigerians |

It's not only Ibadan all the SW states except lagos are like this very backward and underdeveloped. They left their state and ran to Lagos to form omonile. When they see pictures of Igboland being developed by their neighbors in lagos it pains them very well. I repeat this guys cannot develope lagos to what it is today if Lagos was not a state capital. It's not in them. |

Do I have an iota of pity for you, absolutely not. I am glad you are suffering and pained, and yes I supported Tinubu and yes, Tinubu will win 2027 election again. And yes, obi will never be president and yes, you will suffer!!! |
