Filmmaker and evangelist Mike Bamiloye has come to the defence of Pastor E.A. Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, following recent controversy surrounding Adeboye’s comments on tithing.

Bamiloye took to social media to address the reactions that followed Pastor Adeboye's apology about an earlier statement he made regarding the practice.

Anyway, I believe iin his position about tithing ( sorry, it is a wrong name), giving generous giving.

I believe in the church that teaches giving to God and are bold to say it. Not a church that an organization that teaches somethings to outsiders and another to insiders like a cult.

He is making his money from the proceeds of tithes paid to mega churches that's why he will not perform his dramas in churches where tithes aren't collected since it's from its proceeds he will be paid for his job!

Lie Sir, he never makes any stage dramas. He sells his films like any Nollywood actors. I was attending a church in the early 2000s. We had a building project going on. On a Sunday, a young girl came to deliver a message to the pastor. It was an envelope. In it was a cheque of ₦100,000:00. The girl disappeared before the pastor could open it. It was those days when names were not printed on cheque leaves.
As the work progressed, the same girl appeared again with another envelope, the girl was tailed to the sender. Lo and behold, it was this man Bamilloye. We didn't know he was living around us. He is still not a member of the church till now.

Someone is getting customers through churches and here you're deceiving yourself claiming he's not gaining from the proceeds of tithing. Well for your information many out there are paying tithes to his ministry claiming his movies inspires them so stop being paranoid!

If we're not giving the ministry won't remain we are not contributing money for materialists.

If you want to command wealth your tithe must be more than 10%!

Did Jesus command wealth?

He was hungry many times and in one instance cursed the fig tree for not bearing fruit despite not being its season!

My own God requires holiness to work with Him. Others, when you meet their conditions they are benevolent to their worshippers.
