The Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, recently led a delegation from the state to Istanbul, Turkey, for a working visit with executives from Summa International Construction Inc.

In a statement and photos shared on his official X.com handle on Wednesday, Sanwo-Olu stated that the meeting aimed at exploring potential collaboration on the Lekki-Epe Airport project.

The statement read, “I led a team on a working visit to Istanbul, Turkey, where we engaged with executives from Summa Group, a key player in the construction sector.

“Our discussions focused on the vision for the Lekki-Epe International Airport, which will significantly improve connectivity in Lagos State and alleviate congestion at Murtala Mohammed International Airport.”

It added that the Chairman of Summa International Construction Inc., Selim Bora, took the governor and his team on a tour of the company projects.

“Mr. Selim Bora, the Chairman of Summa International Construction Inc., provided us with a tour of their projects, showcasing the company’s expertise and commitment to quality. The group has a proven track record in delivering large-scale infrastructure initiatives.

“As we explore potential collaboration on the airport project, we recognize its transformative impact on our economy, from job creation to establishing Lagos as a leading hub for international travel and commerce,” Sanwo-Olu wrote.

Where is the design of the Lekki-Epe International Airport here?

Any structural design that is less than the streamlined and futuristic-looking airports such as the new Airport in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, the Dakar International Airport and more will NOT be tolerated for this airport project in Lagos State. Period.

If Tinubu had waited for investors to come to him when he was Lagos governor, we would not have Lekki free trade zone, let alone Dangote refinery.

Sit this one out. It's beyond your IQ level.
Nicely put.

3rd airport under construction in Lagos, with another one in nearby Ogun state (4) within premises of 1 state. Other Yoruba people are not saying anything or complaining

But Anambra and Enugu people won't say anything but if Ebonyi wants to build airport they'll say we should use Enugu own.

Ndi idiots
Because Lagos has the market to support it dummy! Una no dey think at all? Its purely based on commerciality and financial viability!

super story.

I'm not against Lagos building their 20th Airport if they wish.

Nobody should come and talk against Ebonyi airport.

So Lagos state don't have #71 billion to fund the phase one of the project? A state that generates over a 100Billion monthly of IGR? Think about it.
they have the money doesn't mean they necessarily have to spend it.. especially if they can lure other investors into it.
the blue line that is currently operational was built with a 70bn plus loan from CBN ..does it mean LASG can't finance it from their pocket?

apapa oworonshoki was built with over 90 billion from dangote. does it mean FG doesn't have that money to pay?

off point. read my questions again and understand.

is LFTZ the only free trade zone in Nigeria?

what makes you think that without a free trade zone, dangote would not have built a refinery?

are his other companies all in the free trade zone?

when the Jigawa airport or MMA were built, did the government go abroad to look for people to build them?

according to the governor

that is interesting. is the company not supposed to be seeking business from the LASG instead of LASG going to Turkey to offer them business since the LASG is the supposed client?
you keep going round in circles..

no sensible organization will put their money into jigawa airport. hence it had to be built by the state government

MMIA was built with FG money in the 90s doesn't mean every other project now must be financed from the government.
the 4 new international airport terminal were built with loans.. why didn't government build it with their money?

Nigeria isn't the most attractive investment destination. no sensible government will sit down and think investors will flood their country.. this is why state government is also going to lure investors... this common sense.

nobody brought dangote into the topic. and no body said he will not build a refinery without a free trade zone. the lands he was initially interested in located in Ogun state was not a free trade zone.

Did you understand my argument that led to this response of mine? I mean if you understood my argument from the start, you wouldn't have quoted me.

I was responding to another poster who said Sanwoolu should have given the contract to local firms and I was of the opinion that his decision to invite foreign investor maybe because of our corruption index as a nation. Local firms would probably do a shady job because of our corruption index.

You even contradicted yourself with the Dangote construction story, the government still paid for the road dangote constructed as he didn't construct those road for free, he was given tax relief for them so either way the government still paid. So you cannot lump to the two together, dangote constructed the road for tax relief, Sanwoolu investors are investing their money probably on Build-Operate-Tranfer basis.

where is the circle in the questions below? or do you have a special meaning for "going round in circles"?

1. is LFTZ the only free trade zone in Nigeria?

2. what makes you think that without a free trade zone, dangote would not have built a refinery?

3. are his other companies all in the free trade zone?

4. when the Jigawa airport or MMA were built, did the government go abroad to look for people to build them?

5. according to the governor

that is interesting. is the company not supposed to be seeking business from the LASG instead of LASG going to Turkey to offer them business since the LASG is the supposed client?

Did I ask you what any body said or didnt say? the question is simple....what makes you think that without a free trade zone, dangote would not have built a refinery?

if you say "No one said that", is this a "no one"?
If Tinubu had waited for investors to come to him when he was Lagos governor, we would not have Lekki free trade zone, let alone Dangote refinery.
what is not clear about the following?

do questions have points?

the initial questions I asked were not directed to you. they were directed to someone else. since you jumped in to respond to the questions, how then are you now asking for points?

what point were you trying to counter when you decided to respond to my questions?

Why not
Road is road
It's not some new design of betide or sky scraper. It's road. Gravel and bitumen pouring. It's not rocket science
