Mariangeles:
If only I wouldn't have to spend so much money and be in debt to achieve that.
And that's okay too.

Also remember, not everyone borrowed money to move. Get skilled, be a person of value, and you'll have companies here fall over themselves to bring you over for free.

Samguine:
Show me one minimum wage worker earning 70k, not to talk of 110k. The minimum wage of 30k, how many people are earning it? Only 10m Nigerians (5% of 200m) have up to 500k in their accounts.

You work in a major industry, thank God. How many Nigerians have that kind of testimony? Privilege blinds indeed. What you don't know is a security person here has better quality of life, better prospects, and better living conditions than most "rich" people in Nigeria. That security person earns a decent living wage, can conveniently feed, pay for rent and other utilities. His job is respected. etc etc
Why are you guys so stubborn as regards this minimum wage matterhuh The 70k is basic. The total is 110k. FG has started paying it ditto some states.
Drivers in my company have started earning 110k. I know that for sure.

Security persons in Nigeria live in their own houses and drive their own car with having to pay mortgages forever.

Not everybody stays in Lagos. Life where I am is calm and easy. I drive to office in 9-10 minutes and can do 100km/h along the way to tell you it's not close.

Samguine:
Again, how many people can afford rent in Nigeria? That having a car will send you into bankruptcy is a big lie. You pay car tax, insurance and other small bills which anyone that can buy a car should be able to afford. Again, if you do not have a car in this country, no problem. Buses are working and are always on time. Comfortable seats, amenities for the disabled (how many buses in Nigeria have amenities for the disabledhuh). For parking, you only pay parking fines when you park where you aren't supposed to park (another benefit of a working society. The law works). In Lagos, agbero will charge you for driving and charge you for parking. No agberos here. Train works. Air fares are cheap. I flew from London to Germany for just 28 pounds. Two hours pay. How many people can afford flight tickets within Nigeria, not to talk of outside Nigeria?
@boldedhuh What kind of question is thathuh
Everybody does not stay in Lagos. Yet where does agbero harass anyone for drivinghuh
People still travel by flight. The aviation industry is experiencing challenges as a result of forex and subsidy removal. It will be sorted.

Samguine:
You think fuel is expensive because you are looking at it with the Nigerian mindset. The average price for petrol is 140p/liter. That means that if I work for ONE HOUR in the UK, on the average, I should be able to afford at least 7 litres of fuel. How many hours does the average Nigerian driver have to work to afford that amount of fuel? Again, here, no fuel scarcity, no fuel queues. Here, you only buy fuel for your car. In Nigeria, you buy fuel for EVERYTHING.
Look, more people use bicycles in UK than cars. A far larger number even trek. These are facts I know.
Like I said earlier, I enjoy 24 hours power and don't even have a generator.
Also, stop looking at people's salary. Nigerians NEVER rely on their salary!!!

Samguine:
First, you need to understand how this society works. UK is a credit-based society. That means that YOU HAVE TO buy things on credit and pay back to build your credit score. Because of that, a security guard can afford to buy a house, a car, go on vacation etc. Of course, people are greedy and overdo it, does not mean it is bad. Imagine a random security man working for Chicken Republic has systems put in place to help him afford the good things of life. That is what a credit-based system does. Secondly, not all debts are bad. Even Dangote has debts. You do not have a solid financial brain if you cannot put debt into good use.
Credit-based my foot. Here, we buy things outright and have peace of mind.
Yet security guards still live in their own houses and buy cars. We are not vacation people. That's why people like you took vacation to japa level. On a good day, you should only be in the UK for vacation.

Samguine:
And that's okay. People are living well in Nigeria. People are broke in Nigeria. People are living well in the UK. People are broke in the UK too. However, we need to put things in the proper perspective.

The average security man in the UK:
- Can conveniently feed
- Can buy a brand new car with credit
- Can buy a house with credit
- Can afford to go on vacations in other countries. With a UK visa alone, you can visit at least about 7 European countries visa-free. Morocco is e-visa. Come here and see how people are visiting Schengen countries like say an water. How many "rich" Nigerians can afford that?
- Can buy high-quality fashion
- Has access to excellent infrastructure.
- NHS.
Cut this credit crap abeg!
Nobody regards anyone who buys anything on credit here.
You only have a real testimony if you purchased anything outright.

Samguine:
People keep complaining of bills and tax. However, the tax works. Good roads, good amenities, welfare programs for the poor, disabled and elderly, security is great, infrastructure is superb. I had kidney stones, I was rushed to the hospital. I got to do lab tests and CT Scan, all for free. Tell me why I won't happily pay my taxes? In Nigeria, you will be lucky to have a CT Scan machine in your hospital, despite the fact that you pay tax.
Hey! You guys pack drugs(paracetamol, septrin, flygyl etc) from here to abroad like crazy whenever you are in town.
Also, reverse medical tourism is now the order of the day as medicare is far cheaper here than abroad.
Healthcare here is fair. I just returned from a government hospital. I took 2 of my children to see a doctor. I spent less than 1k - card and test inclusive. The drug prescription I got cannot cost up to 2k.

Samguine:
I have lived in Nigeria (I was not poor) and currently living in the UK. I will pick the UK a billion times over.
You are stuck! And you are suffering from Stockholm's syndrome. cheesy

It's still some of the benefits of being abroad bro.

You can get a 2022 model of Toyota and be cruising round while you pay small small over a decade.

But not in Nigeria, here in Nigeria most car users are still struggling with a 1998 - 2006 model cars

Imagine bro there's absolutely nothing a single government policy that we enjoyed in Nigeria, I mean nothing.
Nonsense @bolded
I would rather use an older car that is mine with peace of mind than be tied down by stupid debts.
We enjoy several government policies here. It's just that people are not even aware they exist.
Re: Fishes I Bought In Today's Market :check Out The Prices by samintegrity(m): 3:33pm On Oct 11, 2024
There's too much lies and hurt from people opposing the op information here.

I won't be responding to any of you guys again.
Someone said he would rather use an older model of a car what a fat big lie.

Who enjoyed a corolla 2003 when he can get a 2020 model of the said car..

Pls stop all this nonsense lies, you just can't afford it simply put.

Funny enough, just say you don't have the financial resources to fund your japa, simple.

And if you are doing well here that's not a ground to belittle those abroad, by far they are doing great.

Pls I will unfollow this thread as it's making me mad with some very annoying comments from some individuals here..

I work 45 hrs and my wife work 45hrs..

There are area in UK where rents are cheap and this are off city center. And we are in winter already although i don't have to explain to you. You could believe or not believe. House rent dont increase by winter or summer. If you have a pay as you go on gas then it will increase but if u negotiate with the gas people when setting ur account let them know u are a student working on part time.. Thats what i did and they reduced my fee and its static irrespective of what i use

Take a look at the pix.....

The second one is 3 bedroom... I could take 2 bedroom and look for a single student that will pay 200 per month...

You have no job security. Your job doesn't require skills, so you can get kicked out or replaced by robots anytime.
Dont compare it to the US dude, in the US, the opportunity is endless, no restrictions with regards to learning skills and doing business.

Dude Read this again and again. I tell you from experience.
When you are legally living in the US, you don't need hourly pay job. All you need is find a skill - HVAC, Plumbing, Electrician, sales person. Learn am. Most company will hire you as apprentice with zero experience and train you for like 4 -6 months. Get you into a van, buy tools for you, and you grow and get your licenses through taking various exams.
You can chose to get on any job apps and get hired on side hustles to fix things for people. Or you go on your own and have your own business.
These jobs, in most companies are commission based. They pay you based on how much you make the company. Within 2 years, if you are smart and hardworking, you will move up to sales technician, whereby you recommend replacing equipments for clients, and make 7 -10 percent on each sales. Sell a furnace and AC for like $30k, make between 2 to 3k dollars just within 2 to 3 hours.
You make $150 - $200k yearly working far less hour.
I work 4 days a week. Sometimes 1 call a day, or 3 hours and spent the rest talking with clients and you spend $0 on gas while making money.
Company gives you a work van and gas card to fuel the van. And you take it home. And go from home to your calls.
Guy there are endless opportunities here too. Obviously u can't compare uk with America. It's not possible.
I work with amazon and there's endless training opportunities for free.
U can become a robotic engineer, pm, it guru and all.
There are technicians everywhere, my friend has 4 houses here as plumber and engineer. I'm less than 2 years in UK so I'm talking from d unskilled labour angle.

You need to understand how the medical/health system here works. You do not just have access to random drugs. People bring drugs because it is not easy to buy drugs here. The system is regulated to prevent abuse of drugs. A report says that some strains of malaria are now resistant to some antibiotics we use in Nigeria because of abuse. Is that okay?

No bro. I have spent about 9 months here, since that time:

- No blink in my electricity. For 9 months. I do not even think about electricity again. It is a constant k for us here
- I have never heard of fuel scarcity or seen a fuel queue.
- Food is cheap. If I work for 3 hours, I can buy food that we last me for a month. I want Nigerians to have this same privilege
- I applied for a Schengen visa after two months here. I got it. Access to over 20 countries. I am not sure I will even get an interview date in Nigeria.

Moving to the UK has changed my life Bro and I wish every Nigerian will experience the change in life I have too. If anyone does not fancy japa and wants to stay in Nigeria, that's okay too. That means we have to ensure Nigeria works for everyone.

There is no way you will experience abroad and think we are doing well in Nigeria. No way!

Security guards live in their own houses and buy cars, in Nigeria? Do you mean Dangote's security or that man that guards the banks and asks you for 100 Naira to feed when you go to deposit money?

Again, read up about credit-based systems. Whether you purchased It outright, or with credit, it is yours.

Again, look away from yourself. You are just one out of a million people. You probably have access to insurance. How many Nigerians can afford insurance? How many communities in Nigeria have access to the government hospital you have access to? In the case of an emergency, you Nigerians access an ambulance?

No way!
Bro pls I beg you don't respond to him again, please.

Who in their right sense compares Nigeria to the UK? Pls who?

A kg of gas now is around #1800, a litre of Petrol in most filling station is around #1250.

Light that he claims to enjoy 24/7, pls ask him how many areas in Nigeria enjoys that? Maybe 5% of the entire land mass

Pls, don't just reply him.
Most people like him are just pained they don't have the resources to travel out, I assure you if he does he won't be around.

Guy there are endless opportunities here too. Obviously u can't compare uk with America. It's not possible.
I work with amazon and there's endless training opportunities for free.
U can become a robotic engineer, pm, IT guru and all tru free training here too.
There are technicians everywhere, my friend has 4 houses here as plumber and engineer. I'm less than 2 years in UK so I'm talking from d unskilled labour angle.

I have a friend that has not collected a salary for 8 years, yet he's a big boy. Business men dey everywhere.

From d way u talk, I can see ure part of Americans that say uk people dey suffer. Guy, people are making it here too. E no bad like that o.
Okay. You missed the point. The point is, you yourself don't have to work 12 hour shifts, work smart. It took me 1 to achieve mine. Did yeye jobs for 3 months, got a skill, and my license. Don't waste your time dude.
I dont compare, and anybody can make it anywhere.
But in the US you are sitting on world market with over 300 million human, market.
The GDP of California alone, is bigger than UK GDP...a state in America is richer than the UK Google it yourself.
Most world billionaires are Americans. Google it yourself
Again, bro, don't waste your time on shifts, learn a skill ASAP.

Guy we are not in the winter. Abi what part of the UK are U? This is autumn those we have been having rain in Scotland

Bro u stating the obvious. We all know americas money and carlifornia.
But does that mean ure richer than all my friends in UK.
My cousin earns way less than my salary doing same job in that same America. This is the first time in my life I would collect salary. Life is in stages bro. No one is wasting time on shifts, I'm on training as well, maybe u missed wen I stated it.

Everyone can't live in America and robotic engineers here still do shifts even the general manager and operation managers do shifts.

No wahala my guy. But don't quote me wrong. I did not say I am rich neither did I say that I am richer than anybody, nor that people in America are richer.
I gave those stats because of what you said previously and my reason for that is letting you know, there are way more opportunities in America than anywhere else in the world. But then anybody can make it anywhere or fail anywhere.
But my advise is, find a job that pays on commission, that way, your salary is not capped. And you can make so much just in a month/day/hour.....

Whats 10 million? That's just 4500 pounds.
School fees ia between 12k or 15k pounds upwards

Then u have to show 10k pounds living expenses.
Then about 1500 or above for visa fee and health insurance
That's over N70m to escape to UK?!
I need to have a re-think.
