From TV coverage to sponsorship to organization to financing to fanbase to passion, name it. Africa still has a long way to go. VAR introduction for instance, greets us with that gap I am talking about. We put our money where are hearts are. Thank you.

Before EPL became easily accessible Nigerians went to stadium to watch shooting stars, abiola babes, ranges, Bbc lions of gboko etc. how easy was it to watch Nigerian league vs EPL

South Africans are able to watch their league on DSTV easily plus they have good investments there. How come none of our billionaires have invested like the likes of Abiola and others did in the past

Plus Nigerians league today is not interesting, kick and follow football by muscular men, shitty stadium etc.

Is it not your South Company, Multichoice that spoiled Nigerians with foreign soccer?
Like someone said, before EPL became so easily accessible Nigerians troop to local stadiums to watch local matches but with the advent of Satellite tv, Nigerians went crazy for European football for the main reason that with little amount you will have access , those that's can't afford a decoder have numerous viewing centers they can watch from with little money

NPFL is not a bad league, it just needs professional managers if not it's products won't go on to become world class players when they get exposed to foreign leagues

The reason is corruption and mismanagement. The last time I went to Ogbe stadium in Benin to see a NPFL match, the referee gave three unjust penalties against the visiting team who were leading 1 nil at the 90th minute. Two of those penalties were converted and the home team won 2 goals to 1. All the protests from the away team fell on deaf ears and they were bullied out the stadium by the home supporters.

This is the reason why most Nigerians don't know the top goal scorer of their local league this past season, but they know the top ballers in their hood and the top goal scorers across European leagues.

A lot has improved since that time but our perception of the league hasn't changed much

Here is the ordinary thinking of Nigerians which is wrong and need to be corrected.

If you watch EPL by paytv, you are making it more rich. Now in Nigeria there is hunger because you are taking money that should develop industries in Africa and you give it to England. Next time you will say English are rich and forgot that you funded them.


The moral of the story if you believe and support your local league it standard could improve and be better than EPL.

one of the big investment to local league is to watch it on TV, TVs will make lot of money on advert and fund the league.

All South Africans have access to EPL via dstv or internet, but because government is pushing of local league people opted for local league.
