Those people you refer to are only working the hard jobs because reality hit them. They discovered that they had no job skills and no one to be entitled to. They can't even stay in their brother's house/room lazying away, their own brother will chase them out abroad. It's not like Nigeria where your distant cousin will just move into your house and refuse to leave. Or where your relatives expect you to pay the school fees of your village.
So can we say they are lazy as Nigerian youths? For them to even make the bold move of leaving their comfort zone?

If infrastructure are put in place and policies implemented without corruption from the top, do you think relatives will stay at their brother's house and refuse to leave?

If jobs are provided and you can get a job soon as you quit one will the millions of graduates wake up and still hang around the neighborhood?

Some people at the top claiming they are hardworking when they are only embezzling people's hard work

Warris this self. Even the most lazy youth in Nigeria as compared to their western counterpart is extremely hardworking.

How is it insensitive to tell young people to work hard and not be lazy?
Is there any country in the world that does not have lazy people?
In the US,UK and most developed countries in Europe, the presence of lazy youths in these countries does not affect who want to work, hence their economy is not affected by a mere presence of lazy youths.
Was she supposed to beg them to relax and wait for government palliatives?
Her husband met a country with atleast a moving economy even though things were already bad at the time he became president.
There was fuel subsidy.
Because there was subsidy people could afford to buy fuel.
Because people could afford to buy fuel they were able to run their private businesses.
Because they were able to run their private businesses there was value added tax
Because there was value added tax government was able to raise revenue to fund recurrent and capital projects.
Because government was able to fund budgetary projects the economy was booming to some extent.
Exchange rate was much more stable at N380 to 1 dollar.
Life was atleast bearable to the poor.
Nobody complained about lazy youths.

All these things stopped the very day this Bush man came into power to declare removal of subsidy.

I don't think there is any country in the world right now that is runned like this. Because the man has completely run out of touch to reality for declaring subsidy removal at the time there are no other source of national income/economic energy other than petroleum.

Now, she coming out to blame lazy youths rather than cautioning her husband, it shows that she is terribly insensitive

i did not say that they were lazy, i said the reason why they were working the hard jobs. Every country has travellers, there are different motives. i am not aware of any country in the world where the majority can get a job as soon as you quit one. There are few cases of such and they can also be found in Nigeria in some cases.

Her husband met a comatose economy which is now doing much better. Any good economist will tell you that. The problem here is the inflation(especially on food) which is very unfortunate. i don't take it lightly to say that because i understand the pain of the people really feeling the heat/hunger. The subsidy was going to go and was met to go. It would have produced adverse effects under any human hand. Any learned person knew that. All the major political parties campaigned in the direction as well. If Nigeria remains politically stable, this phase is the worst that can happen, it can only get better from here. BTW, Remi did not blame you, she only advised you not to be lazy.

Every society has unproductive youths but Nigeria prides itself with one of the most hardworking and innovative young people in the world.

How could she see it? Tpain always grabbed and ran all his life so she would never understand the value of hard work.

They say trash when they have nothing to say and some gullible youths here on social media would still cheer them on.

E lo fi okan baale, a maa gbe wa le! cheesy
Don't mind her. She is referring to her people always at her husband's gate at ikoyi waiting for one cup of rice.

Madam Tinubu wether you like it or not, your husband made these lazy youth. After using them as tout you have the mouth to talk.

Who doesn't know that there is mo food for lazy man?
Her advice is unnecessary, everyone knows that there is no food for lazy man she don't need to say it.

For her to even say it at the time when there is hunger, will be interpreted that she is mocking people in the face of hardship, she should watch what she is saying, she is not a kid cheesy

lies!
Stop telling lies, the economic indices are there grin

you are probably living in abroad posting now, it's not your fault cheesy
The subsidy was going to go and was met to go.
it was corruption that should have gone or reduce corruption to it minimum.
Not subsidy.
There was absolutely nothing wrong with subsidy. There is no nation in the world dependent on petrol that do not subsidize pms under this current OPEC international market price.
If you don't subsidize you are only exposing your country to economic hardship/degradation especially if petrol is your major power source for transportation of goods and services which is the natural bed rock for every growing economy.

You know what subsidy does?
It enable easy movement.
Movement of goods and services.

If there is stagnation of goods and services, you have crumbled the economy no matter the amount of money you have realized from deregulation.

Life is not all about money, Nigerians need to change that mindset grin

Mark my word!
Whenever there is any improvement to exchange rate just know that the government is embarking on a secret partial subsidization.
And nothing will be achieved if subsidy regime is not reverted 50 years from now.

It seems this idiotic president does not know what he is playing with grin

The Ooni of Ife is a disappointment. He should go and borrow leaves from the Òràngún Òkè-ìlá, Oba Adedokun Omoniyi Abolarin who founded a free boarding school in his town in 2014 where only indigent brilliant students that scale through the secondary school entrance examination are admitted to enjoy the free education.

She spoke at the palace of Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, in Ile-Ife, Osun State. The first lady was in Ife to inaugurate hostel and a 2.7 kilometer road donated to Ọbafẹmi Awolọwọ University, (OAU), Ile Ife, by the Ooni of Ife and named after her. Her advice is very necessary, you are free to ignore it. Thank God you know that the advice is correct and true.

i understand the hunger like i stated earlier, it bites hard. i don't like to see or hear people are hungry. Again, really, i expected it, it's commonsense. Subsidy and arbitrage had to go. Subsidy is not economic indices, please get educated on this. That a government is giving out freebies is not economic health. Most of the countries that you envy sell fuel more expensive than Nigeria BTW. Government cannot continue to help you subsidize dollars.

Check the difference, what is more comatose than that?

Do a simple google check or better still, proper research on the top twenty economies in the world and price of fuel. My oint is that price of pump is not the only indicator for showing that a country is doing well. If we keep saying that blindly, Nigeria is clearly doing better as our fuel is still cheaper.

Try watching the video above, we don't have short memories abeg.
The government simply could not afford subsidy, accept your fate. The numbers were terrible. Why should the country crumble under debt because of subsidy? There is more to life than subsidizing dollars and petrol. Stay alive and stay safe to experience this, it has happened in other countries also. It's never palatable to stop receiving freebies, understood. i stand fully and logically with the decision of the government to remove the subsidies and float the naira. It definitely comes with its regrettable pains. What the government can do though, which it's not doing well is help people with FOOD. Food prices have to go down, open the borders already. Our farming is not sustainable(or let's say not yet). Plus the majority of our farmers and market are greedy, like most Nigerians.
Finally, underestimate President Tinubu at your own peril. He knows exactly what he is doing, though i think he could have done it in other ways.
