Where is @OyoTunjiUSA?. I am honestly not done with him until sanity is restored on this thread and people can gain relevant information from this thread as it has always been. I am guessing he went into hibernation until everyone has forgotten and move on and then he will come back to his notorious ways or he will probably change his username again and continue peddling misinformation.

Shine your eyes everyone.
they've heard you, let focus on helping those folks with questions.

Not yet o. They said the pre-approval rejection was for visa waiver (which I never applied for in the first instance) but the payment is intact that they will give me a date as soon as they can.
Okay. Thank you

Bro, please could you give me tips on possible PhD interview questions (Biomedical Sciences) and how to answer such?
Basically they ask about your research interest, and how it aligns with what you are currently doing or your experience. If there is a professor whose work you find interesting you should read about their work and thats how you can impress the admission committee.

Please those who have paid application fees, how did you do it? I have tried using my zenith Mastercard (debit) but it's not going through. Or is it because it's a debit card because on the site it says use credit card.

Nigerian cards won't work. You need a dollar card. Try chipper cash.

Hi guys,

So my former CEO/boss has agreed to be my sponsor for my masters in the USA, is this acceptable? I left his company 2 years ago, but I still do business for him so we are quite close. Can this be a flag in the VO's mind? Since he is not family and I haven't "officially" worked for him in for the past two years. Will his affidavit of support and bank statements be okay? Or is there anything I am required to bring again.

Please anyone can respond to me. Thanks

if you don't have any other options, just state in your ds-160 that you still work for his company.

Won’t make a difference. The key question is why would your boss love you so much he wants to spend that much to send a member of staff to school?
Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 18 by Mathew2307: 8:40pm On Oct 12, 2024
I used my Providus Bank Naira debit card for my school's app fee and it went through once.

PS: I always use it for my dollar purchases. I recommend

For prospective F1 visa applicants, I would like to address a common concern regarding family sponsorships. It is crucial to clarify your funding sources before your I-20 is issued. If your I-20 indicates personal funds, do not switch to claiming family support (from parents or relatives) or mention a different sponsor during your visa interview. If you intend to use other sources of funding, ensure they are accurately reflected on your I-20. Any discrepancies between the financial information on your I-20 and what is presented during your visa interview may result in visa denial.

Thanks for your suggestion. Its one month since i paid my visa fee alrwady (September 9). I got a notification about the rejection on September 29. However, I clicked on the link in the notification (on AVITS portal) and the system requested that I reupload my I-20, which I did immediately, hoping it would a step towards scheduling. Shockingly, it returned to the old rhetoric of "preapproval request is being processed". That's what I have till now. Any tip that can helpnis welcome. Thanks.
Hi, did the system also allow you to pick the location you are applying to and intended date of travel (just like at first) when you were allowed to resubmit?

Hi zinachidi

Anyone presenting himself or herself as your sponsor is acceptable. Reasons for wanting to sponsor you can be one hundred reasons, therefore,.any sponsor you presented is welcome if the embassy can verify the genuineness and availability of the funds. His bank statement and the back up affidavit of support is sufficient.

Google.
ok thanks
Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 18 by SOPWriter: 8:35am On Oct 13, 2024
Hi Zinachidi,

Why would a former employer choose to sponsor you? Spend a large portion of his life savings on you? Why? To maintain a close relationship with you? What does he stands to gain? Your friendship?

I don't mean to be the bearer of bad news, but you should understand that VOs are trained professionals with a high intelligence quotient. They probably won't buy your story, and there's a high propensity that they won't demand your affidavit and bank statements either.

Thanks for your submission...My 2 boys have indicated on their i20, "Family Funds from Abroad" while the second has "Family Funds" does this have any impact on their visa interview?
I submitted my financial documents and sponsoring as the father alongside their Aunt based in the US.

Please advise me. Thank you
Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 18 by welf99: 1:58pm On Oct 13, 2024
That is absolutely fine. They will present same documents during interview.
Family funds is family funds irrespective of how its written.

Thanks once again, so it's okay if he mentions his father only as his sponsor? I was thinking if he mentions his aunt it'll be a red flag. What do you think.?
Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 18 by welf99: 2:47pm On Oct 13, 2024
Honestly there is nothing like a red flag if he mention the aunt, it depends on how its precented . Family members are a legitimate source of funds, that is why USCIS has a provision for it on I-20. Though there are cases mentioned here where the VO would ask a follow up questions on immigration status of the family sponsor if resident in the USA. So your children might want to have this information ready.
In my opinion this follow up question is not necessary and generally most VO dont ask in other countries but from Nigeria applicants applying from Nigeria.
