Apart from shoring up AD. Israel is confused as things stand. They don't want to start a war with Iran while they are still battling Hamas, Hezbollah and other lesser proxies in the region it will be too much for them. Another thing is they see this as a rare opportunity to strike Iranian nuclear facilities which they can't destroy totally without the help of America and America is not ready for that. Striking Iranian nuclear facilities could have the opposite effect making Iran go for the bomb which Israel does not want. Lastly they don't know what an Iranian response could be if they retaliate while still fighting Hamas and Hezbollah.

This is a very difficult situation for Israel and only US can help them out even US does not want things to escalate beyond this cause of its own interest in the region and the effect of a conflagration that would affect global economy. Iran calculated its move very well.

David's Sling is designed to take out targets as far out as 186 miles away. The Arrow 2 has a range of 56 miles and a maximum altitude of 32 miles, while the Arrow 3 uses hit-to-kill technology to intercept incoming ballistic missiles in space, before they re-enter the atmosphere on their way to targets.

These systems combined were designed specifically to counter those missiles Iran fired and the claim of short range is nonsense

And tomorrow, someone would be making long posts just to argue with this person. Only the Iron Dome is designed primarily to work against short-range missile. The Arrow and David Sling systems, which are also overhyped, are meant to tackle medium and long-range threats.
