LAMATA needs to give NRC licence not the other way round because Lagos rail is run more efficiently than Nigeria railway. You can imagine up till now Nigeria railway is still tearing tickets for people while LAMATA started with e- ticketing right from inception.

thanks for this update, those victim crying people will soon come and blame Yoruba, that Sanwo olu neglected their place and did not build rail infrastructure in SE 🤣

Just like they are already blaming Lagos for partnering with private investors for building lekki seaport while they are yet to have one in their landlocked region grin

More of Tinubu's legacies......

In years to come, what a collection of governors would do in Lagos will be attributed to Tinubu..... Because some people claim he created Lagos by himself and also masterminded the entire development process ....

We saw this and decided that he should do the same for Nigeria.... And we're currently in a mess!

All we get is to be patient while staying hungry!
point to a legacy project standing today that can be attributed to the agulu fraud that governed Anambala for 8yrs grin Abi Lagos carry 2 head?

Why can't other states follow suite.

Inter state trains

Intra state trains

Curb the use of vehicles for mode of transportation and we won't worry about prices of petrol products.

Imagine taking train to work and back like in the USA.

Train from lagos down to abuja and to kaduna and to kano and to Katsina.

And internal train stations in. The states.

Transporting food stuff will be cheap and fast and the price of fuel won't affect price of goods and with train you can transport large commodity with a cargo and also our roads won't be spoilt with those long big trucks that causes accident.

The government should use that money they usually use for payment of subsidy and fix our train system in the country.

It Will go far. Any President that can take up this initiative and it works deserves a third terms.
rail transport is a capital intensive project and not all state have the financial strength like Lagos, and besides most state don’t experience the same traffic congestion we have in Lagos, so they may not be need for it.

Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority LAMATA @Lamataonline
NRC needs to be unbundled for this type of announcement to make sense.

A separate entity - Railtrack should be issuing this licence while the RailCo should run it's own trains as a commercial entity.

Seperate facilities from operators.

RailCo should be operators same as Blue Rail and Red Rail. Lamata manages Lagos allowing other states to manage theirs with Railteack having overall supervision.

Red goes where? Blue goes where?
Red: Èbúté Meta to Alagbado, 8 stations in total

Blue: CMS to Okokomaiko. It terminates at Mile 2 presently. Mile 2 to Okokomaiko coming soon.

Green: Coming soon, from the Lekki/Victoria Island corridor to connect with the Blue Line at CMS.

I was on the test ride for the Red Line last month. A nice initiative it is.

I can't wait to take my local and foreign tourists round Lagos on the Blue and Red lines.

You can book online with Lagos-Ibadan Train Service (LITS), operated by NRC and just check in and enjoy your ride. I still used it two weeks ago while taking a tourist to Olúmọ Rock, Abeokuta.

Hopefully, with all rail lines working and fully functional, it will decongest our roads and ease traffic... One of the reasons why much traffic no dey UK na because of their functional rail lines... So u can even see people parking their cars and going on trains..

Good one from the Lagos state government

All states in Nigeria need good transportation.
Just say that not all states can afford it and many state governors are not interested in it

what will a state that has no traffic challenge and the population be doing with a rail infrastructure? Lagos is a state that is having issues with overpopulation and this have put more pressure on our road infrastructure so therefore there is the need for a metro system.
