Is his parents expected to outlive him? Did he expect he will die before his parents? Shouldn't his parents have shame? Fighting their grandchildren over inheritance!

Lets hope this is not true..Herbie had a very large heart and loved his parents. Except he wanted his kids to take care of his aged parents.
The Will probably was written in anticipation that he would bury his parents and not the other way round, hence he would have included them in his will.

Don’t take any curse lightly
Overturn and rebuke them
Think long term when writing a will

The day you realize you’re more important than money is the day you’ll find peace. No matter how much.

Now he’s gone. The money can’t help him. And his family is scattered.

If you ask him, if it were possible now, he’ll rather come back without all that wealth

, Pastor Shyngle Wigwe had locked up Emeka, one of Herbert’s brothers, at Panti Police Station for three months, for fighting one of Herbert’s sisters, who had cursed the deceased that “his plane would crash, and money would drop from the sky for people to pick”, because he did not grant one of her requests.

I don’t mix money with any form of human association: whether it is - friendship, relationships, family. I keep money far away from it.

You can’t even be so entitled to my money you would have the audacity to come demand it from me, same day you become dead to me. Money like oil doesn’t mix well with other dissimilar liquids.

Anything true would work fine without money, if it doesn’t it was never meant to be.

If you need money so bad, go make some yourself. All man must work is my motto.

BreconHills:
It is common knowledge that Herbert and Aig have their assets in a Family Office called TenGen. It therefore beats the imagination why there would be a Will as a transfer device when there is a more tax efficient vehicle.

Even if there were to be a will, it is more likely to be a pour over will which merely transfers assets not included in TenGen to the vehicle. If TenGen is the vehicle then the appropriate fora for contesting Herberts dispositions would be the Federal High Court Lagos and not the probate registry.

I am somewhat shocked at this because Herbert is a highly sophisticated banker and the idea of leaving his assets in a public register like the Probate division is extremely baffling.

For this reason, I am inclined to disbelieve this report in the absence of a credible source.

Money brings out the worst in people, if you truly want to know a man, transact business with him and he will shed his skin.
What can't dubious people do for money. They can definitely spin a codicil and destroy the originality of the actual will

The Crafty problem with many Nigerians is that they no longer honour Will.
The best thing is to physically share all your properties to whosoever you desire and do a physical transfer of Deed while you are still alive.
Lawyers can no longer be trusted.
My brother before I finish reading your comments. I said the same thing. You are very on point. At times even when u do that. There is still be fight among themselves coz 1 person got more than the other.

But should they suffer for their children untimely death huh

It's unfair to deny them of the right thing.

After all, they're old and the grandchildren have more than enough to keep for the future.

They will say that the siblings are "lazy" or that he doesn't owe them anything. Meanwhile he will buy a Maitama or Banana Island apartment for one of his many mistresses for over a billion Naira, and open an easy as piss forex deal window for another mistress that would earn her over $2m within a year.

People need to be wise. But I guess they would never be.

To each and their own.
Lol, wealthy individuals in Nigeria are averse to helping siblings and childhood friends, they believe their status in life is a result of hard work and consistency while underestimate the role of Luck, Time and chance.

I'm disappointed in this Herbert guy because as a Top banker with his extensive experience in Finance, he could have easily set up self sustaining vehicles to cater for his extended family needs even after his demise, individuals with just 200m networth have some of those vehicles, his least siblings should be worth at least $2m. Maybe its a black man thing, they don't rise by lifting others, they rises by looking down and staying on top of others.

Even if he doesn't make a will . The properties belong to his children and his legally married wife.

Fortunately, he made a will.....those family are just wasting their time........The wife and children can decide not to give a penny.
Even his father has no right to any of his property, if he is not included in the will.
