The players should come home. CAF can award them the 3 point if they choose to condone this useless, crude and chaotic behaviour.

Afterall, if we play and lose under this condition, they will still get the 3 points. We need to make a statement, otherwise next time, visiting countries will be routed to Maiduguri airport and come with bus to play at Akwa Ibom stadium
Possibly going through Ihiala and Orlu to Uyo.

Ours is probably poor planning, theirs is a deliberately effort to frustrate and get our players weak and tired ahead of the match.

I told you guys there is nothing like one Africa.
It's a very stupid idea that shows weakness. If Nigeria alone has great leaders we should be competing with China, Russia, Japan, USA, Israel.

One Africa is a stupid fallacy
Na Nigeria carry One Africa for head pass. Other major Africa nations give it lip service. The smaller ones and impoverished ones without current or future capacity know they have no real long-term future and so would like there to be uprisings all over Africa which in time may lead to a more favourable redrawing of the Africa map. Then there are other Africa Nations that hope to survive, long term, by partaking in Reverse Trans Atlantic slavery: this is when they buy Blacks of the diaspora with "Pan Africa" currency, hoping to gain from the exploitation of the labour and investment of these people.

Nigeria has everything she needs like you say. We however seem to lack true Nigerians in heart and soul.

When I told you people that nobody rates this country in the international community, una think say na banter.

Even Benin and Togo will disrespect and maltreat Nigerians and nothing will happen not to talk of Libya.

Do you know how many Nigerians are crossing desert just to hustle in Libya that was torn apart by war in 2011. Libya that still does not have a functional government is like Mecca to Nigerians. Why would they respect you?

On top of that, you people out of your own incompetence poorly treated the Libyan players when they came to Nigeria so it's tit for tat. We have not finished crying over the shameful display at the Olympics, this one come join again.

When you have an incompetent criminal at the helm of affairs, this is what you get.

Better see finish left and right

I don't know why CAF approved for the match to be played in Libya because security in the country is something ease. However, Team should be accompanied by CAF officers for such trips.

I was expecting such when the team refused landing in the airport provided for them in Nigeria.

They need to pull the players out and from henceforth, Nigerian teams should stop honouring any matches featuring North African teams.

Iwuanyanwu Nationale were put in this situation in 1994. The team went to Tunisia to play Esperance. The plane was supposed to leave Tunisia around midnight. After boarding the aircraft at midnight, they were delayed by airport shenanigans for three hours over airport parking fees. This delay meant that when they took off to refuel in Algeria, the aircraft met bad weather and were not given permission to land for over two hours until they were forced to crash-land with near-complete fuel exhaustion.

Goalkeeper Uche Ikeogu, the pilots and several others died.

Have we forgotten so soon?

It's funny seeing people try to politicise the thread.

North African teams do this to every team, even to other North African teams.

Just a few years ago the Moroccans sprayed insecticide in the dressing room of the Ghanaian Under 17 women's team. They couldn't use the dressing room at half time.

South Africa have been maltreated in North Africa.

Remember the 2009 World Cup qualifying matches between Algeria and Egypt? Both teams alleged that they suffered maltreatment and this led to rioting on the streets.

Raja Casablanca came to Nigeria to play Enyimba and immediately they started pretending that they were maltreated here, so that they would have an excuse to maltreat Enyimba. Enyimba's management had to send a protest letter to CAF before the second leg.

There are so many instances of this happening.

South Africa have been getting the best treatment in North Africa so far since we treat them well the issue is west Africa. South Africa was recently mistreated in Nigeria they used the same technicality that they used to Libya. Nigerians are just getting back their own medicine. Pity South Africans are diplomatically matured to return the same treatment

Libya continues to play hide and seek with increasingly frustrated Bafana Bafana

21 February 2019 - 14:06
By Marc Strydom

As expected‚ Libya have delayed announcing the venue – Tunisia or Egypt – for their must-win final 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) qualifier against Bafana Bafana until the very last day on Friday.

The SA Football Association (Safa) have been frustrated in their efforts to prepare early logistically in terms of travel‚ a hotel and training facilities for the qualifier on the weekend of March 22 to 24‚ where Bafana need a draw to reach Egypt 2019.

The match will be played at one of neighbouring Egypt or Tunisia because of a Fifa ban on playing in Libya due to the insecure security situation in the country.

And in a move that smacks of gamesmanship by the Libyans they have still not revealed the venue to Safa as Friday’s deadline approaches.

“No‚ no we are still waiting. Of course‚ Libya cannot play in Libya because of the unstable conditions‚” Safa president Danny Jordaan said on Wednesday.

“They always had a choice either to play in Tunisia or to play in Egypt. And they have not told us.”

Jordaan would not be drawn on whether he felt this was down to gamesmanship by the Libyans.

“Well‚ for us‚ we should concentrate on getting our team together and winning this match.

"The fortunate part is that most of our players who have had long-term injuries are back‚” the president said.

Safa had intended to send Bafana team manager Barney Kujane on a fact-finding mission to establish a suitable hotel‚ training facility and travel arrangements for the match well ahead of time at the beginning of this month‚ but were not able to.

Libya have played their two home games in Group E in Cairo‚ Egypt and Sfax‚ Tunisia.

Nigeria have qualified for Afcon 2019 as Group E leaders with 10 points‚ with Seychelles left to play at home.

South Africa are on nine points‚ and Libya seven. Bafana need a draw to qualify‚ and Libya a win.

The Afcon finals will be held in Egypt in June and July. Original hosts Cameroon were stripped of the competition over readiness issues.

The Black Maidens of Ghana endured a torrid time in Morocco before the second leg of their World Cup qualifier
The team were made to dress outside after the dressing room was sprayed with chemicals making it difficult for the team to breathe
Ghana ended up losing to the North Africans and failed to qualify for the World Cup in India later this year
The Black Maidens of Ghana were given poor treatment by hosts Morocco before the second leg of their World Cup qualifier.

In a video posted on Twitter, spotted by Sports Brief, the players are seen sitting on the grounds as they received their jackets before walking onto the pitch.

"Our dressing room sprayed with chemicals and we had to sit outside through the break," posted on Twitter by the female national football teams handle.

The girls had to be calmed by officials of the team as they looked intimidated by what was going on just moments before the game.

The Black Maidens travelled to Rabat with a 2-0 advantage but ended up losing 4-2 to their Moroccan counterparts to miss out on the World Cup.

Egypt face disciplinary restrictions over Algeria attack

FIFA's disciplinary committee has ordered Egypt to play their first two home 2014 World Cup qualifiers at least 100km outside Cairo following an attack on the Algerian team bus last year, in addition to paying a $88,000 fine.

Issued on: 18/05/2010

REUTERS - Egypt must play their first two home 2014 World Cup qualifiers at least 100km outside Cairo after the Algerian team bus was attacked and three players were injured before a highly-charged match there last November.

The Egyptians were also found guilty of overcrowding at the Cairo International Stadium and of detaining the Algerian bus for 45 minutes afterwards in the latest twist to a long-running soccer feud between the two nations.

FIFA's disciplinary committee fined the Egyptian Football Association (EFA) 100,000 Swiss francs ($88,160) for the incidents before the match on November 14.

Egypt won the game 2-0, leaving the teams level on points, goal difference and goals scored at the top of African Group C, but Algeria won a playoff five days later in Khartoum to qualify for their first World Cup since 1986.

"The FIFA disciplinary committee took this decision after determining that the EFA had failed to take all the necessary security precautions to ensure the safety of the Algerian delegation, as well as security and order at the Cairo International Stadium," said FIFA in a statement.

"The Egyptian FA had not adopted the necessary measures to prevent the assault on the bus of the Algerian delegation on the way from the airport to the hotel on Nov 12. In addition, the bus windows were smashed and four members of the Algerian delegation, including three players, were injured.

"It was equally noted that security and order in the stadium were not guaranteed, as an excessive number of spectators were granted access to the stadium and the entrances and stairways were obstructed.

"Furthermore, at the end of the match, the bus of the Algerian delegation was detained for over 45 minutes."

At the time of the incidents, Algerian Minister of National Solidarity Djamal Ould Abbes called the Cairo violence "unacceptable and uncivilised" while Egypt recalled its ambassador from Algiers for consultations.

Bad feeling between the two sides stretches back to a World Cup qualifier 21 years ago in Cairo, when Egypt won 1-0 to guarantee a place at the Italy finals in 1990.

Players clashed on the field after that game and the Egyptian team doctor was partially blinded during the trouble.

Egypt then threatened to pull out of the following year's African Nations Cup in Algeria. They eventually sent a B team and lost all three group games.

These North Africans chose which side of the divide they belong to based on how their "bread is being buttered" they claim to be Africans when slot for World Cup and other competition are being allocated to the continent, and they go begging and claiming they are Arabs when free money comes from the Middle East (Saudi, UAE, Qater etc) They people no just get shame at-all at-all grin grin

Chiefs victims of inept refereeing

A shocking performance from the referees is what characterised Saturday night’s fixture of the Caf Champions league between Esperance and Kaizer Chiefs at Rades.

Kaizer Chiefs lost 4-0 after Esperance were awarded two imaginary penalties three minutes apart from each other, in the first 10 minutes of the game. The game continued in the same spirit with every touch of an Esperance player being considered a foul and nearly every Chiefs attempt to attack being an off side.

However, the two other goals conceded were legitimate and further put the team in an uncomfortable position to come back in their return game scheduled for the 23rd April 05.

“There is a big difference in coming back from a 4-0 loss than from a 2-0 loss, which in the worst-case scenario after tonight’s game, should have been the case,” stated the head coach, Ted Dumitru at the hotels supper table.

On the result of the game the coach commented as follows:

“It is another sad day for African soccer and unfortunately Kaizer Chiefs was abused by the vicious attitude of the referees. It was impossible to recover psychologically after the first 10 minutes of the game. It took time for us to recharge and regain confidence and it was during that time that the 3rd goal was scored. After that and until the final whistle, we dominated the game but could not score.

The many incidents occurred proved that the referee did not apply the rules of the game with two clear intentional handballs that should’ve resulted in yellow cards, a foul on Mbesuma in the penalty area, being totally ignored and also by overruling the linesmen decisions.

"We will try our best in our return game to rectify the situation and I really hope that South Africans will have the opportunity to view this game so that supporters and soccer lovers will have the opportunity to understand what conditions we are subject to when playing against other African teams especially from North Africa,” stated a disappointed coach.

“This is a huge set back for African football in its attempt to gain international credibility,” concluded Dumitru.

The atmosphere in the stadium was amazing with over 25 000 supporters present and continuous singing from the stands, the vibe was exhilarating even though the Chiefs entourage seated in one of the suits was not impressed with the handling of the game on the field.

Chairman and Managing Director of Kaizer Chiefs, Mr. Kaizer Motaung was also present at the game supporting his team every step of the way, but after witnessing game he to expressed his disappointment with the unfair treatment awarded to Chiefs.

“There has to be a compelling reason why South African teams should compete in any CAF inter-club competitions, because it’s a known fact that North African teams are always given special treatment over others.

"As a matter of fact, as mentioned in my column this past Friday, the biggest fear we face in playing teams from this region, is refereeing.

"This is not something new as all teams that come up here are well aware of the treatment they receive on the field of play and what happened tonight in the first 10 minutes of the game was a disgrace for African football,” stated a disappointed Motaung after the game.

The Chairman had a tough job in consoling and motivating the players in the change room after the game and could not blame them for the result.

On the overall performance of the team, Kaizer Motaung stated, “I cannot blame the team because with what happened in the first 10 minutes of the game, it would have been difficult for any team to recover. But be that as it may, there is still another 90 minutes of play and we will do the best we can to see to its final.”

Esperance have always been successful in the African Champions League and in all CAF Cup competitions with either winning the silverware or reaching the finals. This year’s participation in the Champions League has seen Esperance winning every home game including the last game against Al Hillal from Sudan in the last 20 minutes of the game.

“It is not surprising that after having lost 2-0 away to a team from Sudan and after being one goal down at home with 20 minutes to go, Esperance managed to score five goals winning the game 5-3. Therein lies the mystery that can explain how five goals came about where as they could not score even one in the preceding 160 minutes”, commented the Chairman.

In conclusion Motaung said, “Unfortunately there is nothing we can do about the situation, the referees decision is final, therefore we need to pull up our socks and get mentally ready for the return game”.

The team will be landing in South Africa on Tuesday morning at 6h45am where the focus will back on winning all their remaining games of the Premier Soccer League season.
