Honestly there is nothing like a red flag if he mention the aunt, it depends on how its precented . Family members are a legitimate source of funds, that is why USCIS has a provision for it on I-20. Though there are cases mentioned here where the VO would ask a follow up questions on immigration status of the family sponsor if resident in the USA. So your children might want to have this information ready.
In my opinion this follow up question is not necessary and generally most VO dont ask in other countries but from Nigeria applicants applying from Nigeria.

Some opportunity come scantily in a life time. Since your supervisor has given you the baton (with funding assurance?), i will suggest you grab the opportunity. There is enough time to process your visa if you can have your I 20 asap.

It’s too late. You would have to pay through your nose to get a date and it’s not Guranteed. I was to go to school in August too. But the date I got was in December. I have deferred till January now. The dates people are seeing on the portal is starting from 2026 for Lagos and 2025 for Abuja

I think it's just better to start the process all over again. The system is the most incompetent system I have encountered in my life. They also lie with ease, I am applying for the first time on the new system, I had paid since the last week of August, I called them last week to complain of inability to fix visa interview, the agent first confirmed that I have a valid payment with them and when I inquired about why I haven't gotten a date, he started issuing one false excuse after another, when I show the failure of logic in all his excuses, he said the problem is with my payment, I asked if he was the same person that just confirmed my payments some minutes prior, he then apologised that the payment is intact that it will soon be resolved, till date, it is yet to be resolved. They either do not know their function or the Lagos embassy is filled with people that are not willing to work. I have resolved to take the advice here and start all over again but after 3 months, they still find it so hard to send verification email in time. I even tried calling today, the site said there is a public holiday so there are no agents, and this is an outrageous lie as there is no holiday either in Nigeria or the US.

Before you get to the login page, you will see a chat and call icon. Or simply reduce the url to the basic one usvisaapt.com and click on Nigeria, you will see the call and chat icon to the right bottom corner.

Yeah i saw that and explore it, it was only the bot that was interacting, no option to transfer to a human. Just prerecorded chat. Or is there a way i can navigate to chat with an actual human?

It usually takes 24 hours. When did you pay? We have public holidays in the states today (Columbus day).
