lexy2014:You didn’t answer my question first. When power companies are doing maintenance do they leave the lights on? Won’t you excercise patience before the light is restored? Please grow up and stop acting childish. |

Kimo21:oga that has grown up that is not acting childish, the question that you say you asked that I didnt answer, what was your question asked in response to? |

lexy2014:That's why you should use more than one bank. That's the reasonable thing to do |

michlins:They are migrating core banking platform, but not to the cheap (free) one used by these neo banks |
| Re: GTBank Suffers Service Disruption; Customers Lament by lexy2014: 1:52pm On Oct 14, 2024 |
Kirchoffs:how does that answer the question I asked? because they have been sending mails, how will patience help customers using their network to transact business and pay bills? |

Tonytonex:These younger Nigerians have been wooed by the neo banks that make funds instantly available even though they (the neobanks have to wait T+1 for funds to reflect) |
| Re: GTBank Suffers Service Disruption; Customers Lament by Kirchoffs: 2:03pm On Oct 14, 2024 |
lexy2014:Your question makes no sense because you've been notified of an upgrade to their system already. The least the banks can do is apologize while you look for alternative routes to pay your bills |
| Re: GTBank Suffers Service Disruption; Customers Lament by Kimo21(m): 2:08pm On Oct 14, 2024 |
Kirchoffs:I stopped responding to him already. You should do the same. |
| Re: GTBank Suffers Service Disruption; Customers Lament by lexy2014: 2:13pm On Oct 14, 2024 |
Kirchoffs:if the question made no sense, why did you decide to response? meanwhile, you still ended up not answering the question. because they have been sending mails, how will patience help customers using their network to transact business and pay bills? |

lexy2014:Carrying out maintenance work (whether migrating, upgrading or resolving) on tech infrastructure is standard best practice. It is done all over the world at scheduled intervals. You don't have a case. You could argue that not many people would be privy to the development since they might not be accustomed to checking their mails or following GT on social media. Even still, this point is moot. Should maintenance work not be carried out because of the ignorance of its customers? Do you know how much damage a single breach in GT customers' data can cause to many millions? Even tech products like power supply that are in not related to banking and finance still need regular update and maintenance - balenta ma. |

Baldwretch:how does all your grammar answer the simple question you responded to? because they have been sending mails, how will patience help customers using their network to transact business and pay bills? |
| Re: GTBank Suffers Service Disruption; Customers Lament by Baldwretch: 2:36pm On Oct 14, 2024 |
lexy2014:I don't exactly get your question. Are they supposed to pause their maintenance work because some customers are stuck and need to pay their bills? Are they supposed to pause their maintenance work because some customers need to do business? Are they supposed to stop maintenance altogether because it would affect some, is that the solution to the pains and discomfort caused by the work of maintenance? Are you IT-inclined? |

lexy2014:Ah ah, do you think IT and its infrastructure is a fools' paradise? Do you think one's impatience can make up for millions and many millions lost as a result of GT Bank's poor IT infrastructure? With the advent of the internet a little over 40 years ago, do you know how much hackers have stolen from big corporations just from a loophole in the corporations' infrastructure and kept quiet about it? Do you think this is a trite or a joking matter that can be shoved aside. Let me use our network providers. Back when we were still growing up, do you know how much our network providers have lost from customers as a result of "cheats" and hacks released by one person? Do you honestly know what you are saying? |

You are practicing a newly learned phrase now, "elicit an emotional response" ![]() lexy2014: |
| Re: GTBank Suffers Service Disruption; Customers Lament by Shikena(m): 2:54pm On Oct 14, 2024 |
The person you are responding to is totally incapable of logical reasoning. He reads to draft a reply, not to learn and understand a situation. He is well known here ![]() Baldwretch: |

Shikena:I think I would just ignore him. His response is replete of someone who either has extremely poor judgment or who is very ignorant of the consequences at hand, and I don't mean this condescendingly. Experience has taught us that things like maintenance work on IT infrastructure are inevitable. The come from time to time. For the security and safety of every one, man just have to do it and live with it. |

yusufu16:Which truth. Why would someone rely on GTBank's alternative payment channel after getting the advisory. There is high possibility of the migration developing teething problems. It is not uncommon with software migration. |

yusufu16:They are? You guys just like bad news. The banking system is very robust, migrating from one core banking application to another is not child play. They have an existing system that their network is use to, introducing a new system to the network will definitely not be smooth, it will take time for them to figure out all errors and correct |
