BlueRayDick:Car is not oxygen, Its not even food, water or accommodation. Millions actually billions will go through life without ever owning a car. As far as life goes, Its a luxury If your money no reach purchase and maintenance, you have to cut it and find other means |

Channel 14 in Israel is reporting that the Israeli Retaliation against Iran will be Significant, not Moderate, and will likely cause Iran to Respond; with them further stating, “We need to prepare for a Significant Exchange of Blows, that might drag the Americans in, which Iran certainly would not want.” Hence why dey need to strike Iran oil facilities, wipe it clean , Ayatollah regime will slowly crumble without necessary funds to finance his ambition. |

raumdeuter:I don't have energy for any needless back and forth this evening. It is obvious to everybody that basic need I wrote in that context is not oxygen food or water. Basic need in the sense that for a working class who has a decent paying job and has worked for at least 5 years , owning a Car is not luxury but necessity which will aid his commuting to and from work. All of these were normal until the disaster called Tinubu happened. At least I know people who do minimum wage jobs abroad who are able to afford to get a used car within one year of working. |
| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by raumdeuter: 6:52pm On Oct 14, 2024 |
BlueRayDick:Cars are imported and with Naira floating since govt can no longer subsidize Naira, you have to pay what others are paying abroad for the same car. Same with iphone, TV's and other items being imported. Most of those abroad who are able to afford cars are paying for it monthly. Your friend saved and was able to buy a car paying cash If everyone abroad has to drop bulk payment for the car at once, Then probably 80% of car owners abroad wont be able to afford one. Even those with good jobs so driving cars are not basic needs. |

raumdeuter:I didn't mention anything like new car or iPhone in my post. I said someone abroad bought a small used car cash down from his savings doing mininum wage job. This I know first hand, not my imagination but something happened. That is the same model that has always happened in Nigeria until T-pain came on board. If u like twist it as much as u want that is the reality. |

BlueRayDick:New or Used car, New or Used phones, New or used TV, as long as they are not manufactured in Nigeria will cost roughly the same as abroad plus cost of shipping and clearing Many people abroad don.t buy brand new cars either. They still have to finance it and pay monthly because they do not have savings like your friend to buy it. Actually most people live from paycheck to paycheck. Many people cannot afford to miss 2 paychecks before becoming homeless. I know this Below you can see the average savings of people by age. And average cost of a used car. So your friend if he is under 35 he will probably not be able to save for a used car. If he is over 35 he will barely be able to save for a used car People were able to save and pay cash for used cars before Tinubu because govt was heavily subsidizing the Naira and this was what brought the country to its knees now

raumdeuter:I said small used cars. People who do minimum wage job can afford to buy this from their savings. Na u know why u are trying to make it seem like I was saying the impossible. But people doing skilled labor in Nigeria should not be able to buy, maintain and fuel a car because T-Pain is in power. Wo, whatever makes u sleep well at night jare

Segedinho: ![]() The World Bank has emphasized that Nigeria needs to continue its current economic reforms for the next 10 to 15 years in order to position itself as a prominent economic force, both within sub-Saharan Africa and globally. The bank emphasizes that these reforms are vital for fostering sustainable growth and development, enabling Nigeria to effectively compete with other emerging economies around the globe. During the ongoing 30th Nigerian Economic Summit held in Abuja, which is organized by the Nigerian Economic Summit Group in collaboration with the Ministry of Budget and National Planning, Indermit Gill, the Senior Vice President of the World Bank Group, offered the advice. The event, taking place over three days, focuses on the theme “Working Together for Growth, Competitiveness, and Stability.” He said, “Nigeria will need to stay the course of current economic reforms for at least the next 10 to 15 years to transform its economy. “I don’t know if you are agreeing or disagreeing with me. If these reforms are sustained, Nigeria will transform its economy and become an engine of growth in sub-Saharan Africa. “It is very difficult to implement such reforms, but the rewards will be massive if they are maintained.” |
