Akwa Ibom Judges to Get Ultra-Modern Housing Estate, SECURITYNEWSNG.COM reports.

Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has unveiled plans to build a state-of-the-art housing estate exclusively for serving judges in the state. This pledge reaffirms his administration's commitment to fostering a harmonious relationship with the judiciary.

During the inter-denominational thanksgiving service marking the 2024/2025 Legal Year at the Uyo Metropolitan Area Conference Headquarters of Qua Iboe Church, Governor Eno emphasized the importance of prioritizing judges' welfare. He acknowledged their crucial role in achieving the state's goals of eliminating criminal elements and establishing peace.

The governor revealed that a new estate, initially intended for judges only, will be rebuilt on acquired land. He assured that retired judges will receive support, as they already have their homes.

Governor Eno commended Chief Judge Justice Ekaette Obot for the judiciary's innovations in decongesting prisons and reducing trial backlogs. He expressed gratitude for the robust working relationship between the executive and judiciary.

The event featured a sermon by Rev. Ekpedeme Moffat Efanga, titled "Divine Remembrance," and awards presentations, including the Judiciary Award of Excellence to Governor Eno.

"The ARISE Agenda has positively impacted various sectors of the state, and I am optimistic that the 2024/2025 Legal Year will be the best for the Akwa Ibom Judiciary," Justice Obot said.

Rev. Ekpedeme Moffat Efanga delivered a sermon titled "Divine Remembrance," emphasizing the importance of leaving a lasting legacy. He urged legal practitioners to utilize opportunities to make a positive impact.
