I think government should make it compulsory for all higher institutions to teach all students General principles of Law for at least one year.

The amount of ignorance about the law one keeps seeing people exhibit on social media on a daily basis is alarming.

But the Palestinians had their best chance at “independence “ in 1947 when the UN voted for the creation of a Jewish state and an Arab state which they kicked against .

That would’ve been their best chance ; at a time when the Jews didn’t have this much advancement in military technology . Imagine what the Arab state would’ve accomplished if they had just decided to coexist with the Jewish state .

I agree with the entirety of your post, however, it is important to say that a total lack of trust in the Judiciary is breeding this sentiment amongst a large segment of the population, not necessarily ignorance or illiteracy of the law.

The Judiciary in Nigeria is massively corrupt and now impose themselves arbitrarily, causing chaos and confusion in the country. Institutions like the Police also suffer when it comes to enforcement of the law after interpretation.

There is absolutely no integrity in our judicial process, consequently, the masses will always question any unpopular decision even if it is the right decision.

Yeah , I understand the judiciary is a mess.

But let us look at it this way again; If majority of the people have a fair idea of what is legal and what is unlawful , it will go a long way in cleansing our minds . We will know when the judiciary is doing the right thing and when judicial rascality is being displayed in full glare .

At least let people know what right they have which the constitution guarantees and the right of others which they are not expected to breach lest they get docked for it.

That’s why I believe an adult who passes through a university system should spend at least 2 semesters to learn about the law as to how it affects him and other members of the society .

That is the mistake of the Arabs.
They refused to accept a Jewish state.
They preferred a single Jewish-Arab state of Palestine.
They then attempted to militarily solve the problem three times, through the Arab-Israeli Wars.
They failed.

Defeated, the Palestinians are now willing to accept a two-state solution.
But the Israeli Right which currently controls the country do not want to give them a state anymore since they have the best military in the region and have succeeded in expelling more than half of Palestinians.
In their worldview, all they have to do is slowly squeeze out the remaining Palestinians from Gaza and the West Bank and complete the takeover.
A few days ago, they seized the UNRWA HQ in Jerusalem and will build settlements there.
