You were tossing figures likes beancake - 60KUSD, 120K USD as if that is what almost every one earns. Yes, Nigerians are among those migrants who are very educated in the US but knowing how that translates to earning for the family is quite complex and there is no data that will give you conclusion on that. 15% of 20m is just 250k per months. A family of 4 needs more than that to live moderately good life in Nigeria. That 6 millions can't start a good business now, except you are talking about online business.

I used to think that way before until I realised you can't break even in this current harsh business environment if you don't have huge financial backing. 26 millions naira is not much, it would be better for anyone to use it to enter a good Western country if that is enough. You can live a quality life and still save more than that in less than 2 years abroad especially if you are legit with work permit.

I have a huge dream and 5million is more than enough to set a foundation for the dream becoming a reality. It wouldn't be easy for sure but I have never been the type to pray for easy living, I only pray for the strength to survive the stormy weather.

I was making more than average income before I became a citizen. So were many others. As long as you’re legally and have a residence permit, you have the ability to work and earn income. And you don’t get paid higher based on your citizenship status. If anyone is shifting the goal post now, it’s you.

I was simply letting you know that’s a very normal income accessible to most Nigerian immigrants. Now you are shifting the goal posts to “immigrants without citizenship”. Oh please. It's you that cited a reference that referred ONLY to Nigerian-American. We are discussing about Nigerian Immigrants alone. You should have cited a reference that encompasses both the immigrants AND the Nigerian-American.

With 25m if that man buys maize for storage now and resell end of January that 25m would have turned to 30-33 million minimum! Without lifting a finger . You wonder how those big northerners just leave the house in the morning go and seat and gist at their central mosque and go home in the evening yet they keep buying houses and cars … with storage business your 26m can easily give you 50m or more in 2years

traveling is good, no one is disputing that but traveling i only good for THE RIGHT REASONS, if you travel to study genuinely, no problem about that, if you travel based on a career path or gainful international employment, that is good, you can also relocate to be with your wife, etc, BUT travelling just because people are complaining are traveling makes no sense, I have watched many many you tube videos of people complaining and lamenting that if they knew this is how abroad is, they would have staged in Nigeria. The Japa issue is majorly peer issue or societal pressure, I see a man whose wife pressured him to travel just because all her friend's husbands have traveled too.
