please if I may ask what happened to PH refinery that we have been hearing all this while please we should not be behaving like goats in this Country which kind dribbling is this bikonu This Tinubu's administration is the most clueless and mischievous in the history of Nigeria
The truth is, Nigerian government should remove hand in petrol or whatever kind of refining.

Let private businesses handle it while government just regulate their activities only.

Government owned institutions in Africa, especially in black dominated African nations are known with corruption and incompetence so let them hands off.

Let there be competition among local petrol refineries and petrol importers so that Nigerians can have the most affordable just as it is in Telecom sector, Banking, etc, you buy from whoever offers you quality petrol at affordable price.

You, no matter what Tinubu does, even if that grotesque-looking mutherfucker impales your sister and anally rapes your mother, you will still sing his praises and spin it as a "good" thing on nairaland. You will even give us reasons why his shriveled dick will fit right into your mother's stanky hole and how it's perfect for Nigeria's economy. Toad!
Barking like a deprived poppy isn't the best way to clean contribute to forum discussions. Mind you, it is called forum for a reason -the confluence of diversities in opinions and perspectives that it boasts of, makes it an interesting experience. Unfortunately, neofascists like you from the 1p0b hellhole are bent on taming free speech. Not that I support the guy's comment, but he could have meant that full deregulation of the downstream sector would force down Petro prices. So why call him out with curses and threats? You irritants must think this is one of your godforsaken enclaves where you worship Kanu and espouse his ideas of societal repression (disguised as freedoms) and intolerance

Importation of pms can never stop in this countr..
Well ,this will bring competition on the price because one will be cheaper than the other and that is if they supply crude to the other and not export it to their preferred refinery . And for the other , he'll want to compete with them if he's not exporting his refined products ...

And how on earth is this an appropriate response?

As we have a private refinery. Is there any benefits for the masses. Dangote will continue to increase the price for being a business man. Let there be competition.

But I have concerns on how government appearing inconsistent on goal setting.
Government should come up with policies that will make it easy for refineries to spring...meet with those that operate illegal refineries instead of burning them, seek how to modernise them

yeah because there is a time in history of Nigeria that there is no hunger in the land.

People like me didn't even fully support Tinubu in 2023, but with what I have seen so far, I'm supporting him with my full chest now.

So repeating your 2022 propaganda of making it look like yoruba made Tinubu president is not working anymore.

Try a new one.

Exactly. My thoughts too.

True.

It will bring competition between local refiners and importers, whichever is cheaper the petrol marketers will go for and Nigerians will have the most affordable petrol instead of allowing that greedy Fulani man called Dangote to be controlling the price of petrol. If they allow him, in 3 years from now, petrol will sell for 2500 naira per liter in Nigeria.

So I am with Tpain on this one.

Let the competition and price war begin so petrol price will be forced down by market competition between local refiners like Dangote and the petrol importers. It's now a fully deregulated sector, if Tpain can stand his ground and allow this happen, then he has done well for Nigeria.

Well done Tpain
But why the import,in the first place when we have crude and refineries here? Why not resuscitate them to function well?

Omo eni o ni sedi bebere
Ka fi 'leke sidi omo e lomi. This is what prompted us to support Tinubu.
Sincerely I believe in some of his reforms but he failed totally in the aspect of food security which is the most important.
I don't have time to argue with you because I know how much of my personal money and time I used to campaign for Tinubu.
I don't think you're in Nigeria to be saying hunger has always been in the land.....
If you're married or have people that you feed daily you will not be saying what you're saying in this one year of this regime.
