some years ago my dad bought 30, 000 unit of cooperative bank shares he collected 2 years dividend before he died in 2010, i still have the shares certificate, the question now is is it still worth anything and if yes how can i go about claiming it? i can see his name on the unregistered investor for e-dividend.

Cooperative bank is no longer in existence, most have merged with another bank during the CBN consolidation in 2004/2005. Try and find out the new bank it became after consolidation, and also if the new entity was not among the stressed banks CBN acquired and resold yes ago. If the new entity is among the CBN acquired banks, bros forget about the shares..... O TI LO.

Cooperative Bank wey don die since...

I think it was one of the banks that were subsumed by Skye Bank which eventually became Polaris Bank...the short version of the story is that the bank is not doing well so those shares are worth very little or nothing today!

guess as much , it was not doing fine polaris bank acquired it.
