ItisWell22:@the bolded. I'm glad you are open to learning. If any of your parents is still alive as at the time you are preparing your will remember them in your will as you never can tell whether they will outlive you or not! Nothing is guaranteed in life; not even the expectation of outliving your parents! Your parent's share in the will could go to your siblings (or their children) if the parent eventually die. In response to your first question, if your parent is already stupendously rich, far richer than you and obviously doesn't need anything from you it could be understandable if your don't include them in your will. But what about your other family members who have been helpful to you and who may have been struggling? |

SmartyPants:if Cecilia Ibru or Erastus Akingbola wrote a book today. Will they tell the truth about how they ran their banks ( oceanic and intercontinental). The most corrupt people in Nigeria are bank executives. Dey play |

ednut1:Where are you going with this? We are talking about how the bank was founded...if there are untruths there, obviously interested parties would have contradicted those claims. For example, Obasanjo's book "My Command" is widely discredited due to the counter claims of general Alabi Isama who provided contrary and convincing details. Simple. |

Patriotic9ja:Wigwe remaining kids are still minors, if I am right. That means those fighting the father are the estate administrators or whatever they are called, who will be living large off the late man's estate. |

Kukutenla:Michael Jackson included his mum in his will. There's no where it's written that a child must outlive his parents and his siblings. In a will you provide for all the living people you care for. If they die before you, you modify your will. |

No matter your age, a last testament and will is very important when you have dependents living off you. That is the only thing standing between those kids and traditional/culturally induced poverty. ![]() |

Arostar2023:Lagos State government will get involved, the administrators will be making a regular financial report to government. As a big banker, I am sure Wigwe will want professional administrators and trustees like FBN Trustees, United Capital Trustees, Stanbic IBTC Trustees and others to act as the executors of the will. These institutions are managing multi hundreds of million dollars assets for organizations and High Net worth Individuals |

bitbillionaire:But a will is a plan of what you want to happen to your properties at death. In which part of the world do parents inherit their children's properties? |

ceejay10:Please consider the facts without emotion and show empathy ! Put yourself in this mans position ! He's a living dead already. People only look at one side of the case without thinking deep about the loss of a Billionaire Son ! Wigwe never expected to die before his father and he couldn't have put him on his will. The Court will decide a reasonable need on compassionate ground to set aside part of the estate for the parents. |

Ibela:This is why Islamic Shariah Sharing of inheritance is useful, Islamic shariah gives certain percentage to the parents if their son or daughter died and live aged parents and an inheritance. Likewise husband and wife. This are his aged parents who trained their child to become what he is today, those commenting above to blame the hold man forgot that Wigwe may be the family bread winner who has been taken care of his parents but now that he's no more, are the parents not entitled to any of their child's inheritance? That why Shariah law sets aside certain percentage for the aged parents. The oyinbo law we are using is even against African tradition. |

Arostar2023:Wow!! Michael Jackson try o!! You're right though that it's not a given that a child outlive his parents. But to actually label your parents as inheritors to your estate is somehow I just checked it out. Michael Jackson never included his mum as inheritors in his will. His assets were given to ac trust to manage. The mother was mentioned in the will to assume guardian of his children |

ChiefOloye:Humans generally are greedy creatures. Both families are only after their selfish interests. If I were his children, I will even give the elderly man the said 20% before being ask. Life is good, but at the end of the day, it is vanity. If the death of their father don't teach them a lesson about life, I wonder what else will taught them. |

Kukutenla:A will is for the unforeseen. No one prays for such but make list them if you have a will and state clauses with it. You can always update your will when your parents are no more. Look at the late Mohbad, do you think he wouldn’t have included his dad if he knew he was going to die early. Don't let emotions becloud you. Prepare for the unforeseen. |

Patriotic9ja:So as the aged father of the deceased, he does not deserve anything? Do you people have blood running through you? Do you think the man won’t do same for his parents if he was aware he was going to die early? Damn! |

jaxxy:His assets are owned by an incorporated company, Aig and Wigwe are the shareholder of the company. I am sure the children will prefer to work with Aig compared to Wigwes cousins and siblings. What the family should ensure is that the wishes of the dead as enshrined in the will are carried out. Lagos state probate can also have an independent representative that will work with the executors of the will |

CoronaVirusPro:Even my parents will swear for me if I include them in my will especially as inheritors. If you're talking about allocating a monthly pension to your parents for their upkeep, that will be OK. But to actually allocate properties to them? Noo. Even the Bible forbids it. A good man leaves an inheritance for his children not the other way round |

Arostar2023:The 1st daughter is an adult not minor. The bone of contention here is attempts to divert 20% of his estate he willed fully to his children. Normally, in cases where the kids are minors. Family members or member help in managing the assets or businesses pending when they become adults and ready to take over management. Not to alter the inheritance or will
