My car, a Lexus ES 350 2010 model is due for service and the Mobil engine oil I normally use is unavailable in my location at the moment. Now, I am considering getting a different one (also Mobil) and wish to know if there's any disadvantages in changing/switching it. I attached the images of both engine oils below. The first one is what I have been using since December 2023, and the second one is what I am considering. Please I need honest opinions on this. Thank you! Also, is Dru23 a reliable vendor? Are is products genuine and shipped directly from the US as he claims?

Grupo:Its obviously defective. Replace immediately. |
| Re: Maintenance Tips On Cars. by cardoctor(m): 10:29pm On Oct 10, 2024 |
josephsm823:Most likely an internal issue with the selector or the Electronic Range Sensor. Better still to have it physically examined. |

IceDune:Update on this: The culprit for issues 1-4 was the filter in the fuel pump. Cleaned the pump assembly and changed the filter because the old one is clogged. Car has been driving like butter. As for the error codes, when I have spare change I'll change the sensors. Just like Scotty Kilmer said, the codes can be ignored. |

Sankabson:I have bypass the heater core in my RX300 for few years now. No issue. I have also removed the whole dashboard before no big deal. Just get competent hands. The two apprentice that did the remover were below 23yrs old age. |

IceDune:This happens on my corolla, currently. How much did you get the fuel pump? |

Who here knows how much for toyota corolla 2006 model windscreen, please. A coconut fell and smashed mine at Lagos Convention Center where i parked at the entrance this Saturday. The fact they don't have signs to make drivers aware & outline safe spots to park, is looking like something to sue for. Lemme know the price first tho.

Alfabest07:Tell your insurance to fix it |
| Re: Maintenance Tips On Cars. by olumzzz(m): 6:14am On Oct 15, 2024 |
Hollawayn05:First determine how long it has been in use in Nigeria before you bought it. If more than 2 years, you can try 10w40 first. If you experience oil burn, then switch to 20w50 |

Alfabest07:When I bought this windscreen in 2022, it was around 49k. So adjust for inflation and you may get a faint idea of how much it'd cost now. |
| Re: Maintenance Tips On Cars. by Alfabest07(m): 5:21pm On Oct 15, 2024 |
Grupo:okay, thank you. Does it have different qualities (grade)? My friend who doesn't really know about sha suggested i make sure i don't buy inferior grade |

Alfabest07:You will lose if you sue. You parked your car there at your own volition and cars are parked at owners risk. Go and fix your car (it will cost about 85k). How much will a court case cost you again? |

9icetoo:It's a leisure park, i mean, why wouldn't they put up signs for where is safe to be & not. If it was a child standing there nko. Or even their securities should direct people where not to park to avoid such accidents, since they feel coconuts gives their place a nice aesthetics. I know I will not loose if i get a good lawyer, but this is Nigeria & if we go by the name, a govt owned property. They will trash the case everly. Where i keep 85k bros. Knowing better how things are in our dear country - make i go find 85k nau, that's the wisest option for me afterall. |

Alfabest07:If you do not have 85k for glass, where do you intend to source money for lawyer? You should have taken note of your surroundings before parking. If its a child that the coconut fell on, it will be termed an accident and the parents will have to answer why they allowed their ward to play under a coconut tree. Have you ever seen anyone park his car under a breadfruit tree in the village even when the space under it is free? Have you ever seen anyone chilling u der a breadfruit tree even when it is free and provides enough shade? Even goats and sheep know to steer clear of it. And you have more sense than them. Do not park under trees whose fruits are as big as or larger than your fists You do not need a warning sign to know that. You can sue if you wish. |
| Re: Maintenance Tips On Cars. by Alfabest07(m): 2:36pm On Oct 19, 2024 |
9icetoo:I've decided what to do & it's not suing. But don't let irregularities in Nigeria limit your knowledge. A public space like that is supposed to have signs regardless if individuals have common sense or not. I'd be paid for damages if the country had a working justice system except they show where they have the signs & it's then obvious I was blind to it. Go ask better lawyer what I'm saying. If you'd call it an accident when it's a child, what will you call it differently as it's a car? |
| Re: Maintenance Tips On Cars. by 9icetoo(m): 4:10pm On Oct 19, 2024 |
Alfabest07:Things you suggested: 1. Broaden my knowledge.... 2. Ask a better lawyer..... What you will do: 1. Replace your glass 2. Respond to me again (if you wish). Things you shouldn't do again: 1. Park under coconut trees 2. Ask if you can sue if the coconut tree decided to break your glass. |

I have a Toyota Camry 2005(automatic), bought the car as Tokunbo in January 2022. Recently decided to do a full body work which made the car spend some weeks at the panel beater/painter shop. Before then I have been worrying if the gear oil needs changing as I have never changed the gear oil since I bought it. Yesterday after the car was brought back, I noticed it kicked a little when I put the car in reverse, just a slight kick but changing to Drive or Neutral is smooth. It got me worried if it was normal or the gear was beginning to have issues or do I need to do the oil change? Pls advice cause having to change gears in this economy is no easy feat. Is the slight kick something to worry about? Is it because the car has not been driven for a while that caused the kick ? Do I need to change gear oil? Your expert advice needed please. |
