The old, rickety car in that image probably has its own peculiar problem that caused that problem. It might have nothing to do with the CNG itself.

In any casw, diesel, petrol, and most especially electric vehicles do catch fire/explode from time to time.

Electric cars even catch fire on their own several hours after they are parked.

That has not stopped people from buying those vehicles.

By the way, since that day, at all the appointment centres for CNG conversion, they have been booked to the hilt and remained booked for many weeks to come!

People have come to realise that your car is safer with CNG in it than very inflammable petrol.

Incidentally, Benin City in Edo State and Lagos State were the FIRST locations in Nigeria to start the use of NNPC-powered CNG cars many years ago in the 1990s and Edo has NEVER witnessed a single disaster from CNG cars and buses. This incident will have to be investigated by the Intelligence agencies to find out if it's a sabotage or not.

CNG (methane gas) is NOT as dangerous and explosive as the regular cooking gas (LPG) because it simply dissipates into the air. Also, about 75 countries worldwide including the United States use CNG fuel for powering their vehicles and industries, so, some highly asinine and ignorant posts on page one about CNG being untested or not being used in other countries isn't true.

There is a STRAND consisting of some highly negative and unstable people in nearly every society worldwide who want to continue to maintain the primitive status quo when it comes to manipulating and exploiting the largely "unthinking" masses. Period.
