I still think it's too late for mega refinary project.

Combustion engine is on the last stage of it peak. No world billionaires will build a mega refinary at this time as they consider future and long time projects.

In the next 20-30 years combustion engine will likely phase out in developed world. In places like China recharge cars, scooter, truck and bike has already taking over.

In Nigeria for example we don't buy new cars, instead we buy used cars from develop world. What this means is whatever they use is what we buy

If they complete stop combustion engine and move to electric it only means on the next 5 to 10 years those cars will end up here. So there is no future in oil.

Dangote should think about making engine oil and other products in other to recoup money wasted on that refinary on time.
And it has reduced their use of crude oil.

Dangote didn't think about
Next 5-10years Electric Cars in Nigeria? Do you have Electricity to charge themcheesy
Oga, leave matter for Mathias, you are not smarter than Dangote.
How many MaH of Batteries do you think will power the 'Heavy Equipment' that are the Bedrock of industrialization?
Even in 100years, A Petroleum Refinery will still be usefulgrin

Why is FG and Dangote not publicly declaring the barrel of oil being supplied to the refinery

Nigerians are not happy.
It's not a crime we voted Tinubu
FG has publicly declared several times.

He is still a poor man compare to his fellow billionaire in the world. While others are in $200B to $800B in their hard earned money, Dangote is still in $20'sB with all the monopolies and savings from criminal politicians in Nigeria.

A refinery opens up a lot of industries such as
1. Plastics industries - PVCs, Polyethylene etc.
2. Gas industries - Gas from. petroleum
3. Agricultural industries - Fertilizer manufacturing
5. Utilities - Water, Power to communities.
6. Skills and experience - Engineers, technicians, Accountant, Risk and Insurance, Environmental Scientist.
7. Education - Most big industries like refineries provide schools because of the size of workers and their household.
8. Corporate Social Responsibility - like scholarship schemes, health centers etc.

A refinery has the potential to build lives and creat wealth in enormous ways.

When Nigeria built it refineries, it set it sights on steel as the next phase of it development.

That is how a country is build, by developing it's resources through it's people for the benefit of it's people.

The fall of the NNPC was the greatest tragedy Nigeria ever encountered.
The fall of NNPC was all applauded by all of us when the PIB bill was signed in to all.The PIB Deregulated the sector and remove the fuel subsidy

Double the wealth seems kind of understated.

If dangote is an American, they would have over inflated his networth figure with bogus numbers by now 😂
So true...and it's Forbes that does that the most, Bloomberg is a little more believable. I used to respect Forbes list till I watched the interview of the guy that puts the lists together...the guy seemed so uninformed of the businesses of the people he was ranking. It's almost like some of these billionaires tip the people at Forbes to over inflate their net worth.

The richest black man in the world that has his main and only business in one of the poorest poverty capital of the world

The irony

The rocafellers, the Elon musks, bill gates, etc those are the only ones worthy of being hailed as great entrepreneurs.

They made money in a sound and level playing field

Dangote deserves to be in jail

If dangote was Chinese he would have been executed by now

A man that simply improverised a whole country by single handedly monopolising industries the citizens of that country need

Imagine an individual having the only functioning refinery that the whole 200 million naira need to function .

I saw this coming.. his wealth and net worth doubled at the expense of Nigerians.

Cement that used to be affordable when we were importing became very expensive when Dangote started producing locally.

The same thing has started with PMS.. what Nigerians were buying and prices of commodities reasonable before Dangote reninery, he built his refinery to start producing PMS, again the price of petrol has jumped to above #1,000 per litre still heading for #2,500 per litre courtsey of this greedy man called Dangote.

I don't know the kind of leaders we have that allow one man destroy the country's economy for his selfish gains.. Same Dangote engaged in FX fraud with CBN under Emefiele and noone is talking about it.

Why won't it double when he his the sole buyer of Nigeria, he's now determines our suffering. If he chooses to sell petroleum at N2000, no other refinery will sell below that not even NNPC.... Shame
That's not how it works, if he inflates his price above normal, people will import fuel
