I still think it's too late for mega refinary project.

Combustion engine is on the last stage of it peak. No world billionaires will build a mega refinary at this time as they consider future and long time projects.

In the next 20-30 years combustion engine will likely phase out in developed world. In places like China recharge cars, scooter, truck and bike has already taking over.

In Nigeria for example we don't buy new cars, instead we buy used cars from develop world. What this means is whatever they use is what we buy

If they complete stop combustion engine and move to electric it only means on the next 5 to 10 years those cars will end up here. So there is no future in oil.

Dangote should think about making engine oil and other products in other to recoup money wasted on that refinary on time.
What a joke. Even the most ambitious estimates place this at a minimum of 50 years. And the most recent reports show that the electric vehicle car market is not growing as fast as projected.

you are sorely mistaken, fossil fuels aren't going nowhere in a long while, the other derivatives from the crude refining alone is humongous
sure you didn't get my point. Crude oil will still be in use in the next 1000 years. but they % of users will be brought down to an extent it will no longer be lucrative

4 trillion dollars is more than The entire of Gdp of Africa and half of Europe.

Then you start wondering how the fvck a company that is only popular in America and few other countries worth that kind of money?

Very funny people.
It is the dollar currency..

As it is now, have the price not been inflated above normal price?? We come to be comfortable with abnormalities that it's now making it look normal

The price of fuel will soon merge up the price of his cement!
Smart business man though
Most of you folks don’t even know what monopoly means
Nobody is preventing you and your uncles from establishing your own refinery and making the product cheaper so that we all can abandon Dangote and his refinery

So you think it's going to take 30 years for him to recoup his investment and make profits. What about shipping industry and aeroplanes? You have rechargeable ships abi? You also have rechargeable fertilizers I suppose. What fuel is battery is Elon musk using for his future rockets?
Re: Dangote’s Wealth Doubles To $28 Billion On ‘monster’ Nigeria Oil Project by Babangidapikin: 12:28pm On Oct 18, 2024
cool Forbes is yet to say anything , like I told my friends Elon Musk is the Richest Africa man in the world ... But Oyinbo people like to down play Africa .. As for Alhaji he is less interested in position but how many lives he can impact across Africa and the World ... But he should remember the Richest Man in Babylon and put some of us under is wings .. Because honestly what he overcomes sometimes goes beyond having money ... Me I rather have my peace than fighting some battles , but Baba God always see him through.

I understand your sentiments and it would be correct if Africa developed at the same pace as the rest of the world. There will always be markets like Brazil, India and the rest of Africa for dangote to ship products to. Developed countries will still manufacture cars with diesel engine cos it will take longer than 30years for a total shift, especially due to affordability.
Re: Dangote’s Wealth Doubles To $28 Billion On ‘monster’ Nigeria Oil Project by mayo47(m): 1:57pm On Oct 18, 2024
This scenario will only be a reality in 20 to 30 years. However, there could be a growth of fossil fuel cars mainly targeted towards developing countries like India, Nigeria etc. And this could lead to growth of local car manufacturing companies. Because Nigeria has attained the stage of EV usage. This narrative is likely to remain the same for the next decade.

the usage will will reduce. And that market has already been taken by existing refinary. When usage drop means no market

Why don't you make your business to favour the poor?

Go and farm yam, after harvesting, go sell them for 500naira so the poor can be happy and be able to afford it
If the poor didn't exist, professional opposition in every form, including politics and religion would have invented them. These two are the real enemies of the poor.

Nothing wants and needs poor people more than political and theological Doctrine.
