iamoyindamola:And who says we won't concede more than 2 without a substitute CB? So u think having Sterling who didn't track back for most of the minutes he played would've made us score while Bournemouth will just forget we are one man down? We lost simply because our players are undisciplined once again. I will definitely blame Arteta for not instilling discipline in his players but I won't blame him for the sub that made logical sense. |

All sane Gunners saw the new UCL format and the even tighter schedule and knew the realistic and most practical thing to do is to pump up the squad and reduce the minutes of Saka and Odegaard. In a few days another game night and then Liverpool. ![]() 70% of this loss is on his head, Arteta. Man, will you get your subs Right and on time? |
| Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by oliverano: 7:25pm On Oct 19, 2024 |
BlueRayDick:It's always the most sensible thing to do when you're a man down with lots minutes to play. Take an attacker off and introduce a defender. Wenger did same with with Pires in 006, took the lead after the red and nearly won the UCL but of course, nearly does not kill a bird but the point still stands. It's the issue with most fans, if arsenal attackers took their chances and then parked a trailer it's another three point but because the game is lost then you'll see different opinions. Arteta did the right thing! |

At the end of the season, I can’t wait to read we lost the league because we were competing against Pep! |

iamoyindamola:I won't lie, Sterling is not the kind of player you rely on when things get heated up for your team such as a red card. When it was 11, see how slow and annoying he was. 10men involves pace and decision and he can't offer that. So his removal is justified to me. He isn't tracking back and so that gives advantage to the faster BOU players. He couldn't even sync with Kai when that one was winning all those aerial challenges. Ethan should have been the one coming in for me though. Guy has the ginger for a 10man team to look 10.5men at least. |

BlueRayDick:It’s not about sterling Arteta removed an attacker for a defender because of red card against fvcking Bournemouth We won’t forget this |
| Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by oliverano: 7:29pm On Oct 19, 2024 |
Leyqute:You don tey for this game and you should know this thing isn't as straightforward. The red card was early in the first half, and Bournemouth dey house. It's not that easy. 11vs 11 arsenal will kill them though |

Roland17:Lile Bournemouth is 14th for Heaven's sake!!!!!!!!! What sorta carelessness happened tonight? If i am the manager of a bottom 7 team, I'll begin to target ways to make Arsenal players to commit. Because it is almost sure that MA will lose his head and the players will begin to do crap. |
| Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by BlueRayDick: 7:30pm On Oct 19, 2024 |
oliverano:We have fans here who always wait for Arteta to make a mistake and then lash out at him. Now the issue is that Arteta did not make a miskate with that sub like you rightly noted. If Arteta had decided not to take Sterling off and bring in a defender, it simply means one of our defenders will have to drop back to play as a CB. Arteta who trains the players probably knows none of our current midfielder can play CB for over one hour of football. It's only logical to bring in a defender to have a chance at putting up any fight with 10 men. |

Also, Merino is still far behind. Everything seems to be moving too fast for him. He is not ready at all. |

daveP:I am still saying it This is not about sterling it’s the fact that this man will always look for ways to showcase he’s a defensive coach 3 defenders can still handle Bournemouth and we will win but our coach ehn |

iamoyindamola:So are u saying he should've removed another defender I.e either Calafiori, Gabriel or Ben White? Who should he have removed to plug the huge vacuum Saliba left with his reckless foul? |

oliverano:I understand if Arsenal were cautious in the first half. But the naivety shouldn’t have continued into the second half. Being conservative only boosted Bournemouth’s confidence, which helped with the goal. If Arsenal had started the second half with more focus on creating chances and scoring instead of defending, they could’ve nicked a goal and then sit on it. They have enough quality to do that. |
| Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by Roland17(m): 7:42pm On Oct 19, 2024 |
Also, instead of Kiwior, why not Zinny? Could we have played a back 3, keep the middle without losing our strength at the top? Why the hell were we playing that high? It cost us that Red card even though Saliba should have been smarter. Did we need 4CBs on a flat back line after the red? Merino was poor, he should have been taken off earlier than he did. Local man is weak! |

iamoyindamola:Wetin you say make I talk na? Baba start season say the only way we can beat the bald bi-polar to the league is to be perfect. As we don draw, come lose today, shey no be to commot mind? Anyways, we are only 8 games into the league, which shouldn’t hurt us so much. Liverpool play Chelsea tomorrow, we have to hope Chelsea get a result. A draw, better still a W will favor us. City have an easier run of games until the end of November when they take on Spuds. |

Trossard make thunder fire you for that type of back pass. Martinelli thunder fire you 2 times for missing that clear chance and standing like a statue during the set piece that led to the first goal. |

Nothing burst my brain today like Arteta Reaction. Him remove Sterling put Kiwior, Kiwior cause goal he remove am put Jesus 😂🤣🤣🤣. Jesus of all people.😂 Like you were trying to defend a 0-0 game from the 30minute and want to draw a 2 goal lead at the 85th minute. Make it make sense 😂😂🤣. |

Roland17:If Chelsea win Slot, Slot go vex wan beat us next week without a key defender in our backline. Trossard nonsense pass just spoil everything. This man wants to bid his time till January and most likely buy just a player or none. Kudus buy won't help if Ghana goes for AFCON ![]() I really want to strangle Martinelli for that waste. Merino na squad player in the here and now. Man lacks the grit for me to take a game all by himself. Something that Ceballos and Xhaka did well years ago. I'll give him time as expected. Anyone not expecting a lash out don't love this club enough. Considering who we want to OUTSMART. ESPECIALLY as Slot don join. |

Ethan for Merino..... Arsenal's attack is so average without Saka... It's safe Saka has been the key 🗝️ Man. |

Let's be real, e get the kind chance your teammate go miss up front and your mind go cut in half. If GM scored that game, im very sure the worst result would have been a draw. Its demoralizing to be seeing that every game from same player, whether he starts or he comes from the bench. Rem i asked that why is it that our best chances in dire moments usually fall on him? They better work on his finishing in the laboratory. Im fed up. |

johnjunior39:Told someone immediately after he made the first sub that Kiwior had no business in this game. Move White to CB and Partey to RB or move Rice to CB. Then bring in your Martinelli for transition. The loss was on Arteta today. |
