I give up on uber

Crying 😭.
I can't continue

I have been buying fuel 20k and yet can't even have gain of 1 naira to buy pure water.
How can I make it when I keep receiving 1400, 2000 ride.
The highest ride is 3k..you will use about 2 to 3 liters of fuel for a journey of 12km and at the end of the ride uber will show 2500.
God help me.

Father open way for me.
Father the time has come
I tried to simulate this 12km, 20 minute trip on Bolt and this is the price it showed. I know it's not a lot but at least, 3400 is better than 2600. I also believe you'll have shorter pick ups on Bolt.

If Bolt has not blocked you, you should move over.

This isn't a place for such. It hasn't been for a while . . . Ever since the powers that be decided this thread would be good for their entertainment alone 😌

All serious men who are involved in ehailing ported to the telegram group years ago. Ask around, many of them that post here are in that group too.

I suggested you find your way there and leave here for the jesters, liars and trolls. We also have cowards in the telegram group too so if you're one, you are also highly welcome 🤗

I can only speak to my experience driving on Uber alone and driving in LAGOS.

My goal daily is 25k net.
I start early between 5.30am and 6am
I live on the island so I maximize the morning office runs. If I'm lucky I get surge trips but I really don't chase those.
My goal is turnover to make profit so I don't do long trips. Also because I chase bonuses I mix my trips.
I run lekki VI back and forth repeatedly. Doing this also reduces down time and mental fatigue which I think is part of what a lot of drivers complaining here experience. By midday when requests have reduced I can now start doing long trips. By this time traffic to and from the mainland would have nearly disappeared too so it pays me.
By 12, I'd have done between 25 and 35k depending on how hot the hand is. Bear in mind my gross target is 50k (fuel 20, feeding and misc. 5k, take home 25k)
With fuel at 1k however this will have to change but I've only driven a few days since the latest increase so I really can't say for now.
Bonuses also work for me and I try not to miss them. I typically get 80k to 120k in bonuses weekly. I use it to augment any shortfalls.
As long as there are riders and requests I think it'll pay. The margins may have shrunk but it'll even out in the end in my opinion.

My advice is find a routine that seems to work and exploit it to the max.
Chase those bonuses, it's like free money. Even if all you use it for is to offset you commission payments.
Chose you trips wisely, not all long trips make sense. Check how much the trip will net you and how quickly you'll get another trip, if it's to some parts of the hinterland. If I'm to take such a trip then it should pay me to the point that I can afford to drive out of the area empty instead of waiting till I get a trip out.

On a personal note, maintain a positive attitude, keep your car clean and in good shape and always look and smell good. This will reduce see-finish from riders. Have proper illuminating conversations with riders, if you must. If you're into offline trips you'll be amazed how many offers you'll get.

This is how much driving I've done since fuel became 1k. Spent 50k on fuel for this. So I don't think I'm doing that bad, however, like I said it's still early days. But no way my net should go below 150k a week which is my target.
Someone also gave me 2500 for breakfast because he enjoyed the music.

What I do not and will not do is rage against things I have no control over, that's insanity.

While you're at it, my advice for you is that if your engine capacity doesn't fall between 1.0 and 1.8 maximum, don't bother yourself if not, you will work harder than hard before you can see something meaningful as take home

While these are the ideal, I, from my own experience won't say it has to be. If it's his car then it can work. I use a 2.4l engine, however, I started with a Corolla but I was paying rent then, so...

What I meant is this: youd have to put in more hours that's:

10k fuel=10k net very easy to make

But if he wan take home like 30k profit he will have to net at least 60k that implies more hours and 30k fuel at least

Time and usage of car can never be the same. Before bala blu, I close around 5 or 6. Now, that 5 or 6 is when I refresh to find money for fuel. Time and usage of car can never be the same, if you intend to make regular net from the usual.

Ok, gotcha. You're right.
Let me use this opportunity to address all these "I bought 5k fuel". That's just 5 litres. Your car has to be in tip-top condition You have to know what you're doing to hope to make anything with that. Na money you go use find this money

You bought 8k fuel, just about 8 litres. I will assume you don't have much cash reason you bought just 8k and you're in Gbagada, then you face Ipaja!
Even if the Hussle no dey pay like before, you guys are making school boy error..You won't make anything reasonable with that schedule...

This person you are quoting has NEVER driven or been involved in the business by any means. just a loose sad troll running amock on this thread. Follow him no where in your own interest except if you want to be led astray.

Be bold enough to face your fears, hit the road and drive. Your car model, where you live, level of resilience will tell you all you need to know. Naturally, ideas will manifest on how to make the best out of a business that the profit margin is meagre. Honestly, there's no learning curve to this, no one side fits it.

Two things to have in mind;

1) It must never be a full time business, best as part-time or to reduce the burden of fuel while on personal errands.

2) You can also do it momentarily just to survive and get by with life whilst having a plan and timeline to back out. You must never be stuck in this rat race called ehailing.

The even ask for top up, that ride you saw for 3,400 will eventually become 4,000 or 4,500. Bolt should do the needful and adjust there price accordingly. When uche was still in charge, he has listening ear and adjust to things accordingly, but these bella own worst, na ajebutter no be street girl at all. Ph drivers dey vex oo, i pity bolt.
