Of course. Maybe not in the manner you have said it Sha. I operate just 2 accounts, 1 savings and 1 expense. Apart from servicing repairs may not come for months and sometimes it just pours in like rain. I try to stay prepared.
What I do, for work that can be deferred, I push it then factor the cost into my target. So it could mean having to work extra just so I don't enter my account to pay for it. The ones that have to be done, we do, that's why saving is important.
Yesterday I worked on my AC, spent over 100k, but I haven't been working this month so the money had to come out of pocket, no problem.

Let me use the opportunity to talk money.
Guys, save o. Save for the heavy commitments. For the smaller ones, work extra. Those 20k, 30k, 50k bills. Work extra to pay them. To recharge meter, pay for WiFi, streaming, DSTV, small small work around the house or the black tax, work extra.
Delay those that you can delay.
I do 120k monthly Àjọ too, that goes towards my rent. Usually servicing the car and repairs, money for my parents etc comes from 4th week's money.

Get an HMO plan. Very important. Part of they reason I haven't worked in October, my wife was Ill so I was home for over a week. HMO covered everything Hospital Registration and consultation, admission, drips, injections ,drugs and tests covered except for 1 20k test. She took almost 30 injections and drips, I paid nothing. For 20k monthly.

The day I resumed, AC stopped working, compressor. Immediately after dropping off the rider I went straight to Daleko to get another one 100k. The guy fixed it, e de cut fuse. He said it's electrical matter. Called my rewire guy, he wasn't available for a whole week, so no work. I don't work without AC, maybe one day I'll learn to. Finally fixed it yesterday, but I'm taking the day off, I start work tomorrow, probably everyday till the 30th.

Like everything in life, there are pros and cons but you have to roll with it, remember "the rich also cry" grin
The HMO fee is 20k monthly?

Yeah. My first quarter was roughly 6k each per month. I used to pay 36k for the 2 of us every quarter. They increased the premium around June or July

You can try the base plan I don't know if the 3500 quoted here is accurate. Alexandrite is the middle plan

Wear and tear. No way this won't creep up on you, but you must reduce it as much as you possibly can.

Because I started early I can close early. Usually from around 4 to 5pm I'm ready to go home. If it's been a very good day 3pm.
I take a break for an hour in the afternoon, I go grab a bite, if I'm around Yaba, 30 minutes, then try sleep or just relax for 30. If it's a day I have a hot hand I'll probably work straight through then be home like 4pm.
Also I try to take 2 days off weekly or at least 1 day. It mostly depends on how far I've gone with my bonus quests. Also like I've said before, mixing trips allows me some rest time after the morning rush. I don't like overly long trips, 40 mins max with minimal traffic, awesome.
Getting home early allows me sleep early. I try to do 10pm though I still struggle with this because I'm really not a sleep person.
I also try to eat, at least one big home cooked meal everyday plus what I eat outside then I snack a lot. There must always be something to snack on in the car, usually crackers, sometimes I take fruits, 1 apple, 1 banana and some grapes. Sometimes it's bread. Water is also a must.
My estate has a gym and pool which I try to drag myself to, not as regularly as I would like to. I do 5km on the treadmill and 10km of cycling. I do stretches too, very very important. This gym part is a real struggle Sha because man's be naturally lazy grin but I de try, make person no go "slump and die" one day.

Forgot to add... If your car has heated seats, my brother, use it. That thing works wonders for your back. I think you drive a Camry, just try it.
Let’s go… morning drilling.

Help pls, my car broke down yesterday on a road. I was just driving and it stopped.

I tried with mechanic to restart but it would crank and not start.

Yesterday, mechanic said change fuel pump, still no start.

Today another mechanic said the green key symbol on the dashboard is not suppose to be blinken, and until it stopped, car would not start.

I can only speak to my experience driving on Uber alone and driving in LAGOS.

My goal daily is 25k net.
I start early between 5.30am and 6am
I live on the island so I maximize the morning office runs. If I'm lucky I get surge trips but I really don't chase those.
My goal is turnover to make profit so I don't do long trips. Also because I chase bonuses I mix my trips.
I run lekki VI back and forth repeatedly. Doing this also reduces down time and mental fatigue which I think is part of what a lot of drivers complaining here experience. By midday when requests have reduced I can now start doing long trips. By this time traffic to and from the mainland would have nearly disappeared too so it pays me.
By 12, I'd have done between 25 and 35k depending on how hot the hand is. Bear in mind my gross target is 50k (fuel 20, feeding and misc. 5k, take home 25k)
With fuel at 1k however this will have to change but I've only driven a few days since the latest increase so I really can't say for now.
Bonuses also work for me and I try not to miss them. I typically get 80k to 120k in bonuses weekly. I use it to augment any shortfalls.
As long as there are riders and requests I think it'll pay. The margins may have shrunk but it'll even out in the end in my opinion.

My advice is find a routine that seems to work and exploit it to the max.
Chase those bonuses, it's like free money. Even if all you use it for is to offset you commission payments.
Chose you trips wisely, not all long trips make sense. Check how much the trip will net you and how quickly you'll get another trip, if it's to some parts of the hinterland. If I'm to take such a trip then it should pay me to the point that I can afford to drive out of the area empty instead of waiting till I get a trip out.

On a personal note, maintain a positive attitude, keep your car clean and in good shape and always look and smell good. This will reduce see-finish from riders. Have proper illuminating conversations with riders, if you must. If you're into offline trips you'll be amazed how many offers you'll get.
My brother God will bless u for this beautiful piece. You see that your last paragraph it's too important. Me I dress wella. Like I'm going to a business/organization to work. Either native proper English sometimes sef I go full white shirt and tie sef grin grin. ALL I Repeat ALL riders dey bow. Before dem enter car dem dey greet sit straight grin grin grin cool.

I get perfume steady fory car wey I no dey remove. Bro God has blessed us with life and good health we must avoid see finish at all cost. Sometimes I see some drivers and the way they look ehhh. Even d facial expressions sef the dressing unkept hair u know d guy is coming from a lot and still going Tru alot

It is well sha.

I no wan go that route again, how people just feel driving uber/ bolt is better than salary jobs beats my imagination.
Why will u go to school do 5years course and end up driving bolt huh If not for bad govt?
As side hustle or stop gap till you get something better yes I agree but to be comparing bolt driving to salary jobs is like comparing Jonathan regime to Tpain regime.

Very soon eye go clear

U ask question and u answer it by yourself.

Also, no be everybody go school.

Lastly even if govt good and u go school, if u chose to do Uber and prosper in it, then there is nothing wrong. Adenuga been first do kabukabu, and a person use shit packing enter the list of richest men in Nigeria.

The debasing and or stereotyping of Uber drivers must stop

Is this the first time you're experiencing this issue? Do you have a spare key that can kick the car?

You say you were in motion and the engine just suddenly tripped off? You didn't park first to do something? As in you were on motion and the engine cut off suddenly?

When last did an electrician work on the vehicle?

Your car should be a honda if I'm correct

Your problem lies in one of these two under the dashboard drivers side
Tell your rewire to remove the panel under the dashboard check where the inner fuse box is.
There is a relay there where you have many wires and the immobilizer. Its either that relay is faulty, disconnected or one of the wires is touching

Or

If your car has two keys. Then maybe the transponder chip which most oluwole rewires glue to the key knob foil has fallen out of place so the immobilizer can't read your key

You see that ikorodu
Na no go area for drivers unless you want to spend the rest of your day there.

You will n3ed to move towards agric or owode onirin before you get a ride back into mainland or ikeja that's if one is lucky. Else you go back on empty.

Yes, I was in motion. I didn't park, although going slow as there was holdup.

I havent worked on it except when I last changed fuel pump, a couple of months ago.
