Why will you be earning 100k monthly and staying in a 650k to 800k apartment..you either have a side hustle or you are a criminal...

I thank God that my parent built a moderate nice mansion in Lagos Nd a moderate house in our state of origine with a couple of lands in Lagos State nd state of origine. All icdo with my salary is to save, invest, buying nd selling till I'm capable of having my own property. Once in a while i dey use my salary lala black skin girls. Thanks God for life.

Well, for starters, i'll say, if your one month salary can't pay 50% of your house rent or 2 months can't cover your yearly rent, then you're simply foolish.

This principle of being able to pay 50% comfortably with your 1 month rent has always helped me ....

Its best to stay in a low brow, less expensive area that match your salary/income ....

Why would anyone earning 100k stay in a 650k per year apartment?

That is simply a free invitation for high blood pressure na cos everytime the agent or landlord calls to maybe ask some other stuffs, fear go dey catch u say maybe dem wan increase rent or want eject person cos of owed rents....

Every one is bashing OP but forget that rent has also gone up astronomically. My landlord increased by 40% this year and is already threatening further increases next year. So it's just the current situation of things 😞

A friend told me for those who work in the Civil Service, they don't live on their salary. They live on "Baba gb 'ope wa" some term for rubbing the hand of staff to get the needed access you need.

Civil servants in Nigeria hardly afford rent. Except you work in elite parastatals, you are on your own.
Working in ministries, you must collect for back or rub with pen.

Or have something doing by the side.

This is what I do, I have a yearly contribution that I'm doing, It could cover my rent of two years from just one catch out, so I get a number or month close to my rent expiration and pay when it's due. My wife has also been very helpful.

My advise for you is to start looking at how to buy your own house, even if it is mortgage, atleast you will not be afraid of increment and it's all yours.

Despite what my colleagues say because they know i can afford a more better place, I refused to move because of some of the benefits I enjoy.
