Gretmang:Please did you do any medical examination before your visa was granted or is it not required? |

You do not need to submit a medical assessment to the embassy for a student visa. Medicals are required for folks applying for an immigrant visa but not for those applying for non-immigrant visas like F-1 visas. deees: |

Obueze:Why a two year college when you have an equivalent of a Bachelors? Why not consider another Bachelors in the least (not truly advisable) if not a masters? |

EmmyYice:No you shouldn't. That is about the usual turn around time. |

Hello everyone. Please I am trying to help my brother with his interview appointment on AVITS website. Once I moved to the next step, I figured that I made a mistake so I canceled the form and I filled a new form. However, when I wanted to go to the next step, I was getting the error message that "Duplicate Applicant found for this user". I have raised support tickets, called AVITS support team, filled a new DS-160, tried to use another email address to open a new account but I keep getting the same error message each time. Has anyone else been in this situation? Please what do you advise? I will really appreciate your help. Thanks |

dgee1:You’ll have to take both passport to the interview. It’s very important that you do that. This is a very normal thing amd it happen all the time. There’s no way to update DS-160 in the new avit. Take the last submitted DS-160 to the interview |
| Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 18 by Gretmang(m): 8:26pm On Oct 22, 2024 |
deees:No o. If you’re applying for a student visa, it’s a non immigrant visa. But if you’re petitioning for an immigrant visa, then a Medical need to be submitted |

Dot1:AVIT cant help . They have no idea of what’s happening. This is what u do ; In the new profile, change the last digit of your passport number and proceed. It’ll allow you to proceed and book an appointment. Your appointment slip will come out with this new passport number (the one with the last digit changed), don’t fret, it’s okay, however, your DS-160 will bear the right Passport number, that’s what they’ll use to pull out ur details. Your appointment slip has no usefulness pass the AVIT security members who’ll check the slip and compare it with what they have on their system to be sure you have an appointment that day. After the security procedure, what matter is your DS-160 page , passport and i20 ( passport and i20 are the two documents the VO will collect from u) If you don’t do this, you’ll keep getting “duplicate applicants……” even if you use 100 emails |

Good day, I am new here, I am trying to fill out an F1 visa appointment application for myself and my wife because she will be coming with me as an F2. I would like to know if I will be scheduling separately or does my application cover for her as well. If we are applying separately, how can we get the same appointments dates. Thank you |

Good afternoon Please after paying for visa application fee in the bank, I logged into my account and clicked on pending appointment request and it took me to a page where I was asked to upload my I-20 and state the date of my travel which I did. Then I was told that my preapproval request is been processed. How long does the request take before I can proceed? Thanks |
| Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 18 by deees(m): 5:14pm On Oct 23, 2024 |
Valmary:There is no definite answer to this, just keep checking until it's approved and pray. All things being equal it shouldn't take more than 4 days but if it does, please raise a ticket. |
| Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 18 by deees(m): 5:16pm On Oct 23, 2024 |
Cutiemama:A part of me will advise you open a new profile and start all over again. AVITS is a very incompetent organisation. So their incompetence will be an endless delay to you. |
| Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 18 by Gretmang(m): 5:35pm On Oct 23, 2024 |
Balogun91:You fill a separate DS-160. Proceed to book an appointment separately as this is the new rule and find dates on the same day and go together. |

Good evening people of GOD, this is the AVITS portal of a recently denied applicant. The page is saying "Choose a Post" and the applicant doesn't know what post is referring to. PLEASE CAN SOMEONE HELP

| Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 18 by deees(m): 8:22am On Oct 24, 2024 |
Kattybaby1981:Take any available date, then apply for expedited appointment. Make sure you have paid your SEVIS fee. Write the date of resumption on the information part of the request, the course and the school. Write your SEVIS number and the fact that you have paid the SEVIS fee, then make sure you upload your i20 document. You will get dates in November. It's possible you get October dates too. |

“Post” simply refers to the location of the embassy or consulate that the applicant intends to apply. Nigeria has two posts - Lagos or Abuja. If a US visa is issued, the sticker will always includes the name of the issuing post name. If issued in Nigeria, the issuing post name will be Lagos or Abuja. VincentTobe: |
