Deuteronomy 4:2 Vs Revelation 22:18: You shall not add to the word by MindHacker9009(op): 2:49am On Oct 23, 2024
The Torah says in the Old Testament
Deuteronomy 4:2 states:
"You shall not add to the word which I command you, nor shall you subtract from it, so that you may keep the commandments of the Lord your God which I command you."

Here the New Testament disobeys the Old Testament
Revelation 22:18 (NIV) states:
"I warn everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this scroll: If anyone adds anything to them, God will add to that person the plagues described in this scroll."

First is don't add to the commandments, second is don't add to the prophecy. It's kind of like saying don't dilute it from how it was given. How is that a contradiction?

It means what it says: Deuteronomy 4:2 "You shall not add to the word which I command you, nor shall you subtract from it,"

But Jesus said in the New Testament: John 13:34 "A new command I give you"
