My greetings to everyone, please I have a serious question concerning the acceptance rate, it really low and I'm scared of the repercussion, hope the account won't be suspended or won't be able to go online if it reach certain number
For now there is no consequence for low acceptance rate. However, if u don't want to go on a trip just allow it to ring out, don't pick and later cancel it. Don't Decline it, just allow it to ring out.

I have a lot to say, but don't know where to begin.

When ever I give advice here, my target audience are unmarried graduates under the age of 35. Perfect if you're under the age of 30. If you are not in this range, please don't feel offended.

For most young graduates in Nigeria, the future plan is always Financial growth, corporate growth and Career growth/development. It's only financial challenges that will push any graduate to E-hailing.
E-hailing will only give you temporary financial stability (not financial growth) as a young graduate, but will not give you any of the 3 main goals. (financial, corporate & career growth). By the time you stay on it for over 3yrs, you will notice that the money you make no longer cover your personal, family and social responsibilities comfortably. It will become so obvious that you need to step up.
By this time, you're almost becoming unemployable in the corporate industry due to lack of career experience. The type of Jobs you can only qualify for, are the ones paying average salary of 150/200k like the one Djdamian is currently offering. Yet, you can't afford to take it cos you make more from Uber. Now you're getting stuck and confused in life.

I have friends that joined corporate firms when we finished NYSC. None of them was earning over 150k as starting salary. But currently, over 50% of them are earning over 1m monthly. The least eaner of them is currently earning 600k.
Apart from the fact that they earn higher now, they also have strong experience to apply for higher paying jobs. They have higher chances of visa grant if you apply alongside them. Some of them have qualified through experience for PR visas to countries like Australia and Canada. Etc.. The irony of it all is that you cannot boast of more money in your bank than any of them anymore like you did in your first yr on Uber. Cos their yearly bonus alone can cover your 6months earning.
Again, they have more free time than you. Even though they do 9-5 and you can work anytime you want as an Uber driver. Most of them only go to the office once or twice a week now seff. (someone said he will drive everyday, from now till end of the month cos he spent 100k on AC).

Like I always say, if you're a young graduate planning to Join the e-hailing business, please have an exit plan from the get go, before you get stuck and confused in it. Make the time frame as shot as possible, to avoid regrets.

About the exit plans.
There is only two major exit plans and a third(secondary) exit plan.
1) save money for a particular business you already have good knowledge about. This is delicate, but it can work for you if you know what you're doing. It can even be a small business.
2) Save money and leave the country as soon as possible. It was easier to save 2 to 3 million back then, which can also be enough to process visa to some European countries than now. To process visa to any European or north American country now may not cost you less than 8m. Still leaving the country will always be your best decision.
3) The third but secondary one is to use money from e-hailing to do a lot of certifications on a particular profession and try to land a job in it, then grow you career from there. I said it's secondary because the distractions from e-hailing may not allow you concentrate on anything study.

Make hay while the sun shines brothers.

See job, just apply, But another problem to complain about don show.
Go and apply for job, u are asking what will 200k do for me?, what experience will I put on my CV??
I have said it before, if u complain in ehailing u will complain elsewhere they give u work to do.
U can't be unfaithful in little and be faithful in much.
The way of the world cannot change.

Well done... This goes for everybody irrespective of age.
I like to add that not everyone is cut out for corporate life or career development even though the person has spent 4-6 years in the University.
In a study in CU, 60% of Covenant University graduates don't desire to work for a company, this is because a strong culture of entrepreneurial development has been instilled in them during their academic pursuit.
Same goes for many graduates in public schools, for some people their dream is to build a business and be an employer of labour.
I have seen many graduates who start their personal ventures in trading of different types of things, photography, graphics, importing, contractors, transportation, agriculture, branding, printing, fishery, production, etc and they turn out very well.
The problem many people have is financial education and management.
Secondly, venturing in a bad investment or business.
Many Professors are hungry and can't afford d basic things for their family. Many accountants cant account for what they have done with their lives.

I don't have a problem with corporate career o, but white collar job is not the alpha and omega for young graduates.
People should discover their calling and purpose in life and work towards it. Provided they are on that journey, we should encourage one another and not try to tell someone "u should be on this lane instead of that lane"

As long as Ehailing is a legitimate source of income, it will continue to b compared and weighed side by side with any 9-5 job or other business.
Whether it is a side hustle, stop gap, full time or main hussle, profession or career u must respect and honor peoples labour.

If u have a better opportunity for guys here, u can drop the link or connect. I will not accept u or anybody, whoever or whatever u think u are to come here and disrespect people.
If somebody here comes to beg u for money, u can talk to the person as u like and yab him for wasting all his years driving, but to be doing this every market day here will not be tolerated.
Why feel disrespectedhuh
When drivers compare driving to 9-5 jobs, salary earners don’t feel disrespected. At every slightest provocation bolt drivers feel looked down on and disrespected.

Mejai na you do this one see small talk them don unleash whoever…whatever… you are on me like say na me start am grin

All I know is that we didn’t go to university to come and be driving uber up and down as full time job na condition of country cos am… yen yen yen I’m sorry no disrespect just saying

Nah condition make crayfish bend, if not, why will a whole graduate, who went through rigorous university activities only to end up driving random people up and down, ehailing isn't bad but it's never something to be proud of, we only find ourselves doing it coz we can't beg to feed and pay bills, if not for home training and fear of Allah, I would have joined my friends in doing yahoo, most of them started yahoo while we were in school and they worth over 100m now in properties but I'm not moved by their materials and I just want to live comfortably and not live in materials.....

May Allah crown our efforts in this pursuit of financial breakthrough...

Well I don’t know much about exit plan. XGhost said something that really catchy yesterday. And when I analyze the 720 ABO… omo e no reach anything. Big man, big problem… if such make one to think he has arrived, he won’t even understand how everything is moving fast.

Why I said I don’t know much about exit. All it takes for me to feel like driving is being idle, not survival. Especially on Sunday’s.

Re: If You Are Uber Partner In Lagos, Please Share Your Experience Here by Djdamian(m): 12:37pm On Oct 23, 2024
You’re all missing the point. It’s not just about which career pays more—while money matters, it’s not everything. What truly counts is finding a path that offers growth, personal development, time, and peace of mind. You read

E-hailing isn’t the beginning or the end for any of you, just as a 9-5 isn’t the end for me. The goal is to continuously seek ways to improve our lives, which requires intentional effort, planning, risk-taking, and God's grace. I used my 9-5 job to launch my business ventures, just as some of you have used e-hailing to achieve other goals, whether it's expanding your fleet, relocating to better countries, or furthering your education.

Choose what works for you and keep growing from there. Always aim for growth and continuous development. Being a driver doesn’t limit your potential in life—it can be a stepping stone towards your dreams and aspirations.

No career path is easy. Personally, I sometimes work from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. to meet deadlines, strategize business growth to increase market share. I face criticism and pressure from supervisors; my former boss would even insult you to the point where you’d feel like crying. These challenges are common in a 9-5, especially at a Nigerian company, and yet the pay often doesn’t justify the sacrifices. If it did, most people would endure the stress as long as the money kept coming in—but that’s rarely the case.

Similarly, e-hailing comes with its own set of challenges: customer complaints, car repair expenses eating into profits, late nights, and tough competition. I’m not saying e-hailing is the perfect path, but if it’s profitable and covers your expenses while allowing for some savings, you’re already better off than about 60% of 9-5 workers. Many of them don’t earn more than 400,000 Naira as salary, if you want to compare.

Let me Summarize, please do not look down on your hustle no matter what, as long as it's legit and it puts food on your table comfortably, and take care of your loved ones. Don't stop learning, build your knowledge on money making venturew and 21st century skills. It won't be easy, but remember the best investment you can make is in yourself.

I honestly don’t believe going to school is a yardstick to success. Certificate on paper is a good place to start, but your brain and attitude towards life is your diamond. In this present Nigeria 720 is rubbish. Ordinary corrolla is going to 8m. Wahala ti happen in this country.

The question is, who is an ABO? Let's put it into perspective.

This the typical career path of a banker depending on the bank

EA/BA, ABO, BO, SBO, AM, DM, M, SM, PM e.t.c.

As you can see, ABOs are not big men. They are far below the ladder.

Banking job starts getting sweet from AM. AMs in one bank got bonus of 9.2m this year.

And incase anyone is wondering, it doesn't necessarily take 15 years to become an AM. Some banks have programs that take you to AM in 2-3 years. You just have to be ready to put in the work and have a masters degree.

This matter has sworn not to die in this thread.
If there's any common ground or a constant suggestion I have observed, it is to have an exit plan depending on Ur objectives in life.

E-hailing can lead u to Ur final destination (plans).
9-5 can also lead u to Ur final destination.

Let all man find his way. Let's stop arguing back and forth, or try to demoralised each other.

I hope this argument won't enter 2025 again.

@Glithronix, you eh😀

We will always revisit the argument, and that's because anytime inflation affects the hustle, the topic will be raised again....

I've not even put on my app for like 2 weeks now and that's because the hustle has really weak my morale....

Heard drivers are currently on strike.
