I had this mentality you have until I landed in the hospital and was drained. Guess what they gave me to get boost? The drinks you are condemning. Your body needs sugars. Though sugar can come from some food and fruits, sugar is not totally evil. I drank one crate of drink in the hospital to gain my energy. It is not the sugar that is your problem, it is what your body does with it.

I eat rice, beans, semo, Amala, wheat, fruits, yam, egg, plantain, vegetables, potatoes etc etc
I eat natural fresh foods and plenty water.

Another is it's height. Hopefully it's at least 15-feets away from any structure. Have thought of planting one myself but after doing research, and speaking to hausa persons who knows it well, I doubt I have such space. Imagine make such tree come fall towards your structure, this one everything don cost

I stay away from refined Sugar. I mostly use honey instead of Sugar. Recently I decided to use Date fruits as alternative to Sugar. Since Date fruit is a naturally sweet fruits. It's sweetness is extremely high and it has no negative effect on our health.

You can't completely stop eating sugar, young man, because it's present in every carbohydrate food(yam, rice, cassava, potato, bread, biscuits, cake, etc).
You can say you reduced intake of sugary foods/drinks or artificial sugar/sweeteners.

It is still sugar sir, and you just refined it since you’re not eating it whole anymore.

Sorry to disappoint you, and you may be eating more sugar now than before … you know why?

I have planted date palm in one of my property in lagos. I waiting for it to mature in 7 yrs time. Though plant is doing well, but I heard it doesn't do well in the south.

Make sure of the gender you plant. If it's a female, you'll need to plant a male otherwise it'll never bear fruits.

There is natural sugar which is yam, potatoes, rice, garri, fufu, orange, pineapple, mango, banana, pawpaw, honey etc. There is also artificial sugar which is egg-roll, buns, doughnuts, pizza, bread, mineral, fruit-juice and any other food you add sugar directly.

Both of dem(natural/artificial) are sweeteners which have sugar concentrates. Natural is good because it has vitamins/nutrients together with the sugar inside too. While artificial is just sugar. Bottom line is both of dem have sugar.
That is why in some illness, you are also advised not be taking natural sugars too during the illness.

Forget about what those doctors are saying. You need to read intensively and widely to know these things.

Another bottom line is, if your job requires much from you, that is if the job is an energy required work, then you can consume as much sugar(natural/artificial) as you want. You don't even need any exercise because your hard job alone is an exercise on its own. Take the sugar in moderation though. Then if your job requires you to always sit down in office with A.C blowing you everyday, you suppose know what i mean. I mean those soft work that will not stress you, then you don't need sugar. If at all you must take it in this situation, it should be strictly monitored.
