Teams relying on counter lately to unsettle Us. All next opponents need do is just watch our last match before the next fixture. Shows the imbalance the team has since Odegaard and Saka absence. angry
You are right Dave. Shakhtar definitely watched a lot of our games and made us uncomfortable every time they countered. We looked flat again and the players are also struggling with their team spirit.

Sometimes i wonder if we watch them too. Like trying to exploit their weaknesses. Abi we just dey rely on our own abilities? That will be arrogant if we aren't mixing both

Lmao!! 😂🤣

Match that was boring for me.

Omo!! At this point make we just begin riot because today we played rubbish IMO.
Bro I didn't understand the team that played in red and white at all
It's too early in the season to start dropping this distasteful performance
We started brightly early on only to fade off completely
What's stopping these guys to start shooting from outside, same thing against Bournemouth

I agree with you.
My concerns are what happened to Ben White?

Partey was doing just fine in the midfield.

And Trosaard has switched off for the last 3 matches.

It could be fatigue. Anyway, I hope to see how Arteta turns this around with Liverpool.

Arteta said he took him out to prevent another red card. That Calafiori's injury worries me. All he needed to do was to make a simple pass. The first time he injured same knee, he was doing knee sliding and kinda snap something.

Make una no worry, Arteta said we will fly against Liverpool. grin grin

Our available defenders for that match are White, Kiwior, Myles, Zinchenko and Gabriel. It is either Kiwior starts of Partey moves to RB. A very stern test for Myles who will likely be marking Mo Salah.

Saka may definitely not be fit before Sunday so Sterling should get the nod. Ethan as a #10 and Havertz up top.

Omo!!! I don’t think that’s the right thing to do. How about cautioning him to be more disciplined.

It’s like saying he doesn’t trust his players to be responsible. Damn! Those guys Don frustrate Arteta be that. 😂

As for Calafiori, I don’t know who is more rash between him and Timber. The ball he had, a simple pass could have saved us a lot of trouble. Thank God they did not score.

I hope he was subbed for precautionary reasons.

I will say it again, I miss Saka and Odegaard, let them do and come back jare.

Rice has also declined.

Partey is also coming back to form from what I noticed.

BTW, Jack Wilshere will be joining Norwich this week. Not a good decision to be taken mid-season IMO. Not good at all.

I read somewhere that some of the teenagers were disappointed that Arsenal management weren’t doing enough to keep him.

See, we need to realize these guys are not kids. We might continue to berate the coach for all we care but I want to believe the players are mentally matured to differentiate between what is right and what is wrong in different circumstances.

Yea... Calafiori is rash and always take risky decisions. That's how he usually plays. I doubt his substitution was precautionary. Arteta said it looked bad.

As for Rice, I think the instability around him might be affecting his performance. Moreso, that LW is not just his position.

don't be surprised to see Saka start against Liverpool, that boy and White too stubborn when it comes to playing with or without being fully recovered, and Arteta like that attitude die. Arteta saying we will fly against Liverpool can only mean an important squad player might be making a comeback from injury. How we hide injury updates about our players makes it hard to know who's really in or out. And about the discipline issues, I think Arteta is talking about it to them but maybe not too serious or these players head dey just touch sometimes. I remember reading about having a word with white when he got red, and punishing Trossard for his too, if he wasn't talking about it to them, I don't think he would have given Trossard the light punishment that he got.

You're spot on bro

Saka and White have this 'stubborness'. Odegaard is stubborn too but not in the same level. Arteta said Odegaard has been yearning to join the team asap, and that he has been pushing himself despite the magnitude of his injury.

For Liverpool, Arteta said saka has not trained at all. Let's wait and see. I just want any of Tomiyasu or Timber to be back for that game. The thought of Partey at RB or Kiwior against Salah is giving me bad feelings NGL

True. It’s high time the players take the heat.

By the way, when are we selling Tomiyasu? Baba is never available. How many match him play last season? I guess we might be forced to use Zinchenko.

Sallah go roast us sha. except Timber miraculously return before then.

By next Summer, we should send him back to Italy. Funnily, he is always fit whenever we have a full squad to choose from but not when we need him.

Zinchenko? I'll rather we play Myles. Could Myles be ahead of Zinchenko going by the substitution yesterday?

I like your confidence but not Myles Biko.

Zinchenko just resumed from injury hence why Myles was substituted instead.

Injury Dey get us sha.

This Liverpool match is a must win for us, we need to test Arne Slot, shake his confidence small.

🗣️Arsene Wenger when asked if he would rather have Harry Kane or Kai Havertz in his team: ‘That depends on the way you want to defend or the way you want to play.

‘Havertz is more of a contributor to the all around game, defensively he works very hard, offensively he scores less goals than Kane and will never score the number of goals Kane scores. He’s more of a 10-and-a-half or a nine-and-a-half.

‘Kane is the centre forward. Harry Kane played for a long time in a team that didn’t win but they have not won since he has left.’

Davep you can see what we have been saying that Arteta did not have a striker not because he didn't see one to buy but because of the way he wants to play. Which so far is working.

Contract talks between Isak and Newcastle has crashed.
Isak will leave if Newcastle doesn't qualify for UCL. Arsenal have already shown interest.

Gyokeres on loan in January. We can get Isak in the summer. Maybe Bakayoko too in the summer if we can't get him in January. Send back Neto and get Garcia.

Spy, lol. Apple seeds cant yield grapes. Apples will be apples and so will grapes.

In the ucl so far, we have one of the worst conversion rates for the ratio of chances created. Kai will flourish on that chances created tab, but that's as far he can do. Glad you agree.

Seeing how injuries is impacting our team, we would have needed a striker not because we don't need due to how we play but because you can't use a pattern of play and expect it to yield a sustained tempo of results and goals. Injuries to two key players and our coach is playing 3 flat DMs shows how he is limited upstairs when playing the usual pattern is.

Solution: Get deputies and a striker so we can approach games differently from our usual style. No!!

You're still on this it is working stuff. We are just flourishing in chances created and are wack at finishing. So how is it working this season in ucl with 3 goals from 12/25 big chances, huh?

I've moved past this pattern of play that you keep harping about. Im onto the doing what it takes to never be predictable or caught in a tight space like we were vs Bournemouth. Despite how the chances were created in ucl na 3 goals kpere. We all know that goalscoring is the theme of this year's ucl.

As for the boldened, how is that helping the team so far as regards both goalscoring and finishing. We need a finisher for all the big chances we keep wasting. Besides, respect teams in this ucl. They sabi study everyone and know how to exploit. This is a 2nd year innit, we better use all 5 cylinders instead of making just 2 to work and think that because two are working then the other 3 is no needed.

That Dortmund game many would have given up if it were us not cos we not get firepower or whatever but cos we lack finishing power.

Dave, I am not disputing your points as they are valid, however you're getting some things wrong.

1. When I say the plan is working so far, it's because generally we aren't doing badly both at home and in Europe. This is not sentiments it's facts. This is despite not having a full squad and our best players are out. We don't even know our best team yet and this is Oct ending.
2. It doesn't matter whether we are creating 100 chances and converting just 1. At the end did we win? If we won, Arteta goes home happy. Bayern that have the best striker how's is it going for them?
3. Demanding for a striker to be incorporated into the line up because of 'finishing' sounds more like demanding extra salt in your soup. To add a striker, another player will have to make way which will alter the entire dynamics and playing patterns and systems. If you replace Havertz with a striker, will the striker be creating the chances and scoring them too? Funnily enough, when we had a striker in the tactical plan, we never finished above 5th position.
4. Why compare us with Madrid against Dortmund? Apples and grapes? This team is never going to concede twice in 35mins in the first place. Plus they don't play like us. Plus they aren't having the same injury crisis as us. Apples and grapes.
5. Having a striker is a good plan and may probably work as well. But this is the way Arteta wants to play (here's the emphasis) and criticism is allowed but it has to be constructive because he is not failing for crying out loud.

Arsenal recently let go a first team player who had been struggling with alcoholism the last few years. A fresh start was decided for the player this past summer and the Arsenal backroom staff and players are all still in contact. The player is playing , happy ,clean and sober for over seven months. A success story from a career almost lost . #arsenalfanaticsnews

I took a guess several times and only one name kept popping up.
