There is nothing that you can do other than wait for approval. Some folks have raised tickets but it has done little to help them.

Others have forgone their previously paid MRV fees for Lagos and paid new MRV fees in order to select Abuja instead of Lagos. According to them, Abuja seems to process this faster. See previous posts on this by @Ayomide98 and @Shueld

On my Post Study Plans, I plan to return back to my current company which is a Building Materials Importation and Distribution Company and also a family business. We plan to create a subsidiary that'll branch into the Finance sector and I'll be at the head of this.

Does returning back to head the establishment of a family business subsidiary make sense to tell the VO.

Do I need to create a different AVITS account for my spouse since mine is still in the preapproval request stage?

You fill a separate DS-160. Proceed to book an appointment separately as this is the new rule and find dates on the same day and go together.

Good evening people of GOD, this is the AVITS portal of a recently denied applicant. The page is saying "Choose a Post" and the applicant doesn't know what post is referring to.

Take any available date, then apply for expedited appointment. Make sure you have paid your SEVIS fee. Write the date of resumption on the information part of the request, the course and the school. Write your SEVIS number and the fact that you have paid the SEVIS fee, then make sure you upload your i20 document. You will get dates in November. It's possible you get October dates too.

Yes but you have to get a regular date first and you can then ask for an expedited appointment.

AVIT cant help . They have no idea of what’s happening. This is what u do ; In the new profile, change the last digit of your passport number and proceed. It’ll allow you to proceed and book an appointment. Your appointment slip will come out with this new passport number (the one with the last digit changed), don’t fret, it’s okay, however, your DS-160 will bear the right Passport number, that’s what they’ll use to pull out ur details. Your appointment slip has no usefulness pass the AVIT security members who’ll check the slip and compare it with what they have on their system to be sure you have an appointment that day. After the security procedure, what matter is your DS-160 page , passport and i20 ( passport and i20 are the two documents the VO will collect from u)

If you don’t do this, you’ll keep getting “duplicate applicants……” even if you use 100 emails

1. What course are you going to study?

2. How much is your school fees

3. Who is your sponsor?

Did you pay with a card. and are you seeing preapproval processing? if your answers to the above are both yes, you may be stuck in that stage like a couple of us have. You may be better off paying a new fee and starting all over again like some have mentioned. Check the thread

Yes. Alternatively, you can create one for them in your own AVIT account by clicking on “create new” just beside your own “pending appointment request”

Still the same result. If you do this, your appointment letter still gonna come out with the wrong passport number. Nothing wrong..you can go for your appointment with that

No, I paid with cash at first bank

Since I am a J1 applicant, I don’t know if I should ask my Program sponsor to email the Lagos consulate on my behalf. This pre approval request is just something else.

Consent letter to travel with a minor. I can see you were placed on admin processing in the past, how long did yours take?

It makes sense and it does not. It is about how you explain it. You may want to be more positive on how your education will improve the family business. Rather than we plan, you could talk about how you plan to extend the family business into the finance sector.
