Nothing unprofessional here, tomorrow if there is a crime in your place you look for police, the truth is this no police man risk his or life for any Nigerians, what you are seeing is the beginning of the crime, it will come to a time in Nigeria all of you will beg police to help you just wait and see... Common civil defense is stopping police from doing work , what a country!

RESPONSE TO TRENDING VIDEOS OF NSCDC/POLICE CLASH

It is quite unfortunate that two security agencies of the same country were found engaging in a physical combat.

It's unfortunate that people who are believed to have the special training to "sir a suspected criminal aggression until he/she finds himself or herself in Correctional Facility" were found not to have control over their temper and emotional intelligence.
This is a disregard to Code of Conduct, let alone the available sanctions in the relevant legal framework.

This insensitivity could degenerate into "BLUE ON BLUE".

To examine the available evidence based on seen videos and their audio contents:

A government agency was detailed to guide and protect the estate that has a recognised management.

If any other government agency or organisation is interested in arresting or effecting their mandate , the right thing to do is to officially write to the management of the estate or the Appropriate Superior Authority that posted the government agency on guard at the estate for co-operation to achieve their mandate. By this process, the government agency on guard at the estate will be directed to cooperate.

For the agency on guard to deny any forceful entrance was the right thing to do and ITS HIGHLY COMMENDABLE and it's also, A SHOW OF CAPACITY TO DEFFEND AN OBJECTIVE because, being in position of rifles and uniforms is not enough to gain entrance to a protected area giving the security challenges in the recent time. Any criminal gang could have possession of such controlled items.

Watching the videos carefully and listening to the comments in them, it appears the visiting agency had earlier arrived at the gate there and the agency on guard adviced them on the appropriate channels to follow to effect the arrest. Rather than doing the right thing, they chose to undermined the authority of the estate guarding agency by reinforcing to physically beat them up. Even some residents of the estate were not spared in the brutality of which many were seen with injuries and blood letting.
Again, the guards at the gate, despite being beaten and manhandled, they did not at any time use their rifles to defend themselves or use their natural hands or legs for retaliation. In deed, this is quite commendable, and a display of professionalism with maturity.

I have no doubt in my mind that, the visiting agency would not have acted in the same manner if it were the members of the Armed forces that were on duty at the estate gate.

My verdict is that he should be disengaged from the service to serve as deterrent to other errant officers. Indiscipline is assaulting an officer of the law in full regalia

how is the civil defence officer common? this is the problem with the average Nigerian. always looking for whom to oppress.
you come to a private property in a private vehicle, dressed in kaftan and try to force entry with the usual nonsense "do you know who I am" rhetoric? no identity on demand, no warrant shown. they probably did that because they saw nscdc officer at the gate and thought "abeg who be this one?".
they are lucky. some other estates, the guys on guard will perceive them as kidnappers and do the needful.
