.... but how is this epistle by punch help the hungry beggars?

God gave us large expanse of land and favourable weather but what do we do with it?

Why do we need food import from Niger, Cameroon, Benin Republic to feed? Laziness

Reading everything here show that Punch editor is economical with the truth. Expanding problem hiding solution

The root cause of our problem is laziness, prodigy and indiscriminate procreation depleting our $ and doubling our population every 20years.

People are spending 30-40m to japa, where do they get the money from the same Nigeria with the so call dead economy.

More than 20% of our dollar now go to paying of school fees abroad and other frivolities like birthday wedding and senseless vacation in Dubai etc. So government should continue subsidizing $ for them.

Everyone is criticizing, nobody offer solution. Very amusing when Obi the all round failure said he will borrow to sustain subsidy, in a country already using more than 70% of income to service debt
A strong valid point u have here

Nigeria's current economic and security crisis, triggered by President Tinubu's policies, will have long-lasting repercussions. Tinubu's administration has been criticized for its handling of economic policies, including the removal of fuel subsidies and devaluation of the naira, which has led to soaring inflation, reaching a 28-year high of 33%. The economic hardship has worsened, with 133 million people living in multidimensional poverty and over 20 million children out of school.

it's actually a long story.. but I don't buy things on credit. And my feeding allowance in a month is not up to 20k... .. so if I cook soup stew using like 2k, I'll use it for like 4 days, I'll also turn garri and use the stew to eat it... and I only eat twice a day, sometimes once... grin so u have to think outside the box... sometimes during harvest time, we have what we called sweet melon here, u can get 5 pieces for 500 naira.. u can eat 1 in the morning and one in the afternoon.. so the 5 pieces will serve u for 2 days... that's 250 per day...
the Lord is your strength, Amen!

You are spot on.
I told a lot of people here that Naira was devalued, they kept on blabbing that it was "floated" until IMF(not world bank) came out with their report in March 2024 that naira was devalued and not floated.
IMF has refused to give Nigeria further loans because of this. Only the world bank has been lending Nigeria money for obvious reasons.

Eriokanmi:
That's the consequence of the stupidity of some millions of Nigerians in the last election. This will linger for the next 3 years and beyond, sadly. I pity whosoever that will take over from the over-hyped tinubu. He has to be a super strategist with a strong economic team to heal the seriously ailing nation. Yesterday, IMF denied asking Nigerians to remove subsidy. The other day, they also denied the Tinubu's policy of floating of the naira. If they ask our politicians to kill their people, they won't hesitate, so long as it will benefit them.

Tinubu should eat his humble pie by approaching Jonathan on how he built up a formidable economic team across the ethnic groups in Nigeria, who saved us from the global economic meltdown years back. We only heard of businesses collapsing and people committing suicide with companies filing for bankruptcy on the tv and newspapers. We never experienced it rather, our GDP kept soaring. Na dis enter apc gang for eye.

All what the Jonathan administration enjoyed, including oil boom is being enjoyed by the Tinubu-led administration with nothing to show. They even removed subsidy which they stopped Jonathan from achieving but with nothing to show. Sadly, some Nigerians are stark illiterates, including those who claimed to have passed through the universities. Illiteracy of the mind is the worst of all kinds. We are so gullible in Nigeria and soon forget that, when the chips are down, na everyone go collect wotowoto.

What's the outcome of the TAM at the phc refineries today grin? After deceiving you 4 times of the refineries operations kick off, NNPCL said yesterday that the TAM had failed grin. Where're the subsidy palliatives of last year may, as announced by Tinubu? Shebi they've started singing the be patient with us song again like buhari did and destroyed our economy? You'd still fall for this again. Last week, seun asked sanwoolu on channels tv of the update on the 4th mainland bridge which they used to campaign every 4 years and he said, no money grin. We're in it together so, keep falling for their lies.

2023: PDP and politics of healing Wike’s self-inflicted injury

Then, the race began in earnest for three years now, reaching a frenzy with the works of the two PDP committees on zoning. The first was the Gov Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi committee on the zoning of the PDP party offices. The Ugwuanyi committee quickly told the world the committee’s assignment did not cover zoning the office of the president. Though this was true, the question is: why didn’t the Ugwuanyi committee zone the PDP chairmanship to the North without aligning it to the divide that would produce the PDP presidential flag-bearer? The second committee headed by Gov Samuel Ortom of Benue state was specifically on the zoning of the presidential ticket and, with the votes of the representatives of all the 17 Southern states without any exception, the Committee unanimously recommended throwing open the PDP presidential ticket, which the PDP NEC simply upheld.

One thing irrefutably stands out – Wike shot himself in the leg. Here was a man who had an overarching influence on both committees but could not insist that the ticket be zoned South. Many had wondered why? The reason is also relatively in plain sight: the Southeast factor. As the clamour for zoning of the presidential ticket of the PDP to South reached its crescendo, many had pointed out the fact that though the PDP Constitution had prescribed zoning of the office of the president to be between North and South since the South-west and South-south had taken their turns in producing the president and the vice in this current dispensation in the persons of Olusegun Obasanjo and Goodluck Jonathan, zoning this time around, should not just be to the South but the Southeast.

Atiku Abubakar went a step further by offering to step down from the race if it would be agreed that the touted zoning to the South would mean micro-zoning to the Southeast. Wike and the rest could not take the Atiku challenge maybe because Atiku would likely back Peter Obi, who was his vice-presidential running mate in 2019 and an ally. The prospects of Peter Obi picking the ticket if PDP zoned South was so real compelling Wike to go for an open contest, believing he could pick it up ahead of Atiku, Tambuwal and Bala Mohammed, given his large war chest.

No political will
No concerns about the masses
No clear policy direction
No security to aid food production
Bourgeoises have taken over the economy.

They only see you as been privileged. You need to find your way out so that hunger will not kill you.

What else do we want God to do for us. This year along we had Moore them enough rainfall and extended raining seasons they can aid massive food production.

How can a bag of rice go for #130k and beans is totally out of reach. The government need to change to option " b" . Some people collected huge loans for mass rice production and they here is the rice. If they can produce the rice , them the federal government should import and break their monopoly.

I bet you it not going to end soon. In a s much most of the food producing states are under siege of terrorism that we live to call banditry, no single work done will be achieved. The political class seems to be lost more than ever. They are ad old as their idea. With all manners of regurgitated old legs being appointed as ministers. Check out what the young guys have achieved.

It shall never be well with those who worked, supported and encouraged this wicked and draconian Tinubu regime

Thunder 🔥 Tinubu
Including Pandora Bitter Obi?
Or excluding him and the G5 governors who disunited PDP huh

jameshankss:
Anambra State Governor, Professor Chukwuma Soludo, has said he is sure the candidate of Labour Party (LP), Mr Peter Obi, would lose the 2023 presidential election. Soludo said he would not submit to the bullying of Obi’s supporters, who recently descended on him for addressing issues in the state.

The governor made the comments in a lengthy write-up personally authored, with the title, “History Beckons, and I Will Not Be Silent (Part 1).”

Soludo said Obi was inadvertently making the pathway to victory much easier for the presidential candidate of All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu, and at the same time, toying with the destiny of millions of Ndigbo.

But the chief spokesperson for the Labour Party Presidential Campaign, Yunusa Tanko, accused Soludo of being sponsored by some unknown persons to weaken the base of the party in the South-east.

The former CBN governor had been under intense attack for close to a week for dismissing Obi’s investment in the state as amounting to nothing, during a television interview.

Soludo said in the write-up, “My attention has been drawn to some of the tirades on social media following my frank response during an interview on Channels TV regarding the ‘investments’ Mr. Peter Obi claimed to have made with Anambra State revenues.

“Sadly, several of the comments left the issue of the interview to probe or suggest motives, inferred from my response on ‘investment’ that I am opposed to Peter Obi’s ambition and, therefore, committed a ‘crime’ for which the punishment is internecine abuse and harassment, even to my family.

“Everyone knows that I don’t follow the winds or one to succumb to bullies, or shy away from a good fight especially, when weighty matters of principles and future of the people are involved.”

Soludo said he had urged Obi to return to his former party, the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), to actualise his presidential bid. He added that he had always told the LP candidate to his face that he was not capable of winning the 2023 presidential election, especially, under LP, which had neither a councillor nor a local government chairman.

Soludo said Obi was not just his friend, but also his brother, but despite that, they have their political differences.

He stated, “For full disclosure, let me state that Peter Obi and I are not just friends, we call ourselves ‘brothers’. But we have political differences: he left APGA for PDP after his tenure as governor, while I have remained in APGA since 2013.

“During the last two governorship elections in Anambra in 2017 and 2021, he led the PDP campaigns but APGA won landslide in both elections. By the way, in 2016, he visited and proposed that I defect to PDP and contest the 2017 election against the incumbent Willie Obiano, but I declined.

“After my victory in November 2021, he called to congratulate me, as I did to him in 2010. That is the Anambra way: we fight fiercely during campaigns but share drinks at the next social events. After all, it was the Great Zik of Africa, who taught us that in politics, there are no permanent friends or permanent enemies but only permanent interests.”

Arguing that Obi’s presidential bid would only work in favour of Tinubu, Soludo said, “Indeed, if I were Asiwaju Tinubu, I would even give Peter Obi money as someone heading one of the departments of his campaign, because Obi is making Tinubu’s pathway to victory much easier by indirectly pulling down PDP.”

Obi, according to Soludo, would only deplete the votes of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and pave the path for an APC victory.

He stated, “The current fleeting frenzy, if not checked, will cost Ndigbo dearly for years. The South-east has the lowest number of votes of any region, but it is also the only region where the presidential race might be a four-way race (it is a two-way race in the other five regions) thereby, ensuring that our votes won’t count in the making of the next president of Nigeria.

You are not talking about the bad economy and stupid policies the Apc led government is using to destroy businesses and all that.. And how they borrow and spend billions of dollars on their lavish lifestyle,to the detriment of the Nigeria's economy.. Is the country for the few politicians alone? Don't you pay tax? Bobloco:
Is it the governors that floated the naira, leading to the devaluation of the currency?

Is it the governors that hiked up the pump price of petrol from N185 per litre to over N1200 per litre, leading to exorbitant transport fares, a high inflation rate, an increase in the price of goods and services, a high cost of staple food items, etc.?

Are the governors responsible for the calamitous economic policies being dished out by Tinubu on a daily that have successfully inflicted premium hunger, strife, and starvation on Nigerians?

The beggars in Lagos should calm down and fọkàn balẹ.

There must be a nearby place where Tinubu is sharing palliative bread instead of the jobs he promised to create last year.

Glimpsetv:
A large crowd of Lagosians was filmed in a long queue struggling to collect a loaf of bread. To maintain order, several military personnel were on the ground to control the crowd. This has triggered a lot of reactions online.

Asiwaju laid the groundwork for economic disaster when he instigated Ameachi, fashola, akpabio akpabio, Rauf and Oshiomole to insist on sharing what GEJ & NOI saved for the raining days in ECA/SWF accounts.

Thus, Asiwaju not Buhari was rightly the destroyer of Nigeria economy! He subtly started it in 2012, developed it in 2014 & escalated it in 2015 and now putting finishing touches on it in 2024.

Goodluck and NOI first goofed by taking out of the funds twice behind the backs of the Governors.

Go back and do some research.

Even though the Governors later goofed by insisting for their own share from those accounts.

if u do cook always especially light food, u will know that charcoal more expensive than gas..... 1k of gas is 1500 currently... if I refill just 1kg, it can take for for 2 weeks and some days.... but u see charcoal, they are not selling 100 naira own again, its from 200 and above, and the 200 naira own cannot cook a complete meal for u, unless u first of all put plenty stones under before putting the charcoal... so before the charcoal will burn out, the stone will become very hot.. then the heat from the ston will complete the meal for u...

And lastly to make charcoal very early in the morning just to heat ur left over food or even water can be frustrating.. and mind u, they have different types of charcoal such as dust and iron..

Some take minutes to finally catch..

Just like colonial days, oppressions and subjugation of the people was successful due to enablers within the ranks of the oppressed. Helinus, illicit, Free Foodstuffs etc will sell their souls to support bad governance and us being oppressed but we have seen their likes before in this platform.

Some have converted due to one or two things that affected their personal lives and made them to realise you better be quiet than mock children and women in hardship.
