military targets were attacked by the IAF.

The IAF statement said its jet carried an airstrikes against Iranian air-defences, And for a fighter jet to achieve any amount of success against AIR-DEFENCES i think it has to be in close proximity to the system.
or at least operating in the area where the system is located.
