Roland17:True that! I wish some we can have a TV station like AriseTV, Channels and the likes can actually be airing clips of the Oputa panel on a weekly basis. Let this generation learn one or two things about their history. I'm sure if some of all those Twitter tribal bigots stoking flame of tribalism on a daily basis, some of them will stop majoring in the minor |

GloriousGbola:ECOMOG reminds me of that period when the Nigerian Army was one of the most respected Military Forces in Africa. When I look back, I realize that our soldiers have really sacrificed for the continent. This is before the military forces of other African countries started picking up. Lieutenant General Victor Malu's tenure as commander of ECOMOG perhaps remains one of the most successful. |

Amoto94:https://qz.com/365459/how-lee-kuan-yew-made-singapore-the-most-prosperous-efficient-and-quirkily-repressive-country-in-asia excerpts Worried about overpopulation in Singapore’s early days, Lee launched the “Stop at Two” campaign that included subsidies for vasectomies. He raised civil service salaries to private-sector levels to attract top talent and discourage payoffs: cabinet ministers today make nearly $1 million a year, five times as much as their U.S. counterparts. Over many years and visits, I watched with admiration and anxiety as Lee built Singapore into the most prosperous, efficient, and quirkily repressive regime in Asia. “Disneyland with the death penalty,” as cyberpunk writer William Gibson labeled it. The press was muscled into docility, political opponents were sued into bankruptcy, human-rights activists were hustled into jail. Drug dealers were hanged, rowdy schoolboys flogged. But the corruption rampant elsewhere in Asia was virtually unknown in Singapore. People were afraid to talk about anything controversial, but the economy boomed and personal income hit US levels.abacha's death in an orgy with indian prostitutes says all there is to say about him. abacaha had no agenda other than to loot nigeria and perpetuate himself in office |

https://foreignpolicy.com/2015/03/22/lee-kuan-yew-singapore/ From the beginning, PAP positioned itself as a clean hands party — hence, the early choice to dress in white — and has stayed doggedly true to that purpose: Singapore consistently ranks as one of the most transparent, competitive, and easiest places to do business. Singapore’s top ministers earn six- or seven-figure salaries because Lee knew he had to pay for talent, and if you are running a centralized state with little political turnover, it’s all the more important to try to model your government on a meritocracy. Frankly, the Singaporean officials I’ve interviewed over the years — from the foreign ministry, home affairs ministry, and economic fields — could run circles around many of their U.S. counterparts.nothing in there about death squads or kangaroo trials ending with corpses in vats of acid |

BlueRayDick:That's been my point. You have to pick one. I don't like people who throw stone and hide hands Do you want blood and gore or not? Hezbollah and Hamas went to price market and have bought it. Iran collected on the side for aiding and abetting, as any country serious about defending themselves would do. I remember October 7 very vividly. All the people dancing and shouting Allahu Akbar all over social media and in Palestine soil. Cos they killed music festival attendees and raped and decapitated women. What did they expect will happen? Anything Hezbollah/Hamas I can never side with their struggle I don't care what it is cos bloodshed is what keeps their enterprise running |

There's a difference between these bloodsuckers and the Israelis. The Jews flew jets 1000 miles from Israel to Iran and had to even refuel mid-air to deliver a very precise message to the Iranians. You can see ordinary Iranians lying in bed hearing explosions all night and they couldn't sleep, yet they were absolutely safe. When it was Irans turn the Israeli civilians had to go into bomb shelters because the bloodsuckers don't care from whence the blood flows as long as it flows. Let it be very clear, Israeli jets were operating inside Iran last night. That is VERY significant. Israel didn't send unmanned drones like the cowards hiding in Tehran, there were Jews in the skies of the Iranian capital last night, and if they really wanted to, they could have done the most...they showed incredible restraint last night, and Iran would be very foolish to push the matter forward.

Ballzproblem2:Iran could possibly shift from a theocracy to a military regime very soon. It's not like the ayatollah's are that strong, they are only 2 ayatollah's deep in the theocractic run, and the Iranian military has never been this powerful. I think this is one reason why ayatollah hasn't ok'd building a nuke yet... If he gives the military control of a nuke, they might respect him as an OG that realistically isn't long left for this world... But why would a nuclear powered military accept a handover to the Ayatollah's son as is rumoured... |

nihilistjnr:a surgical strike that targeted weapons making facilities. but isreal is being mocked because they are fighting within the rules of engagement they could have chosen to play like the allies at the end of ww2 and carpet bomb iran from all accounts Israel actually informed iran - we are coming and we are taking out these facilities. sort of like those days when armed robbers write communities letters iran was informed, yet they could do nothing to protect the installations. the best they could do was evacuate personnel. iran and its proxies are fully aware of the rules of engagement, which is why they repeatedly site operations centers in schools and hospitals. maybe now that iran has actually been attacked they will start the same thing at home - building weapons factories under hospitals and schools |
