I’d rather the increment is approved and service delivery is good than this nonsense. Many of us that rely on Starlink for work are suffering.
Agreed!

Starlink not working really fine at the time of posting this, who is experiencing poor service this evening?
Do you mean speed? Kindly clarify.

Guys, have you recently switched to Starlink Residential in the Lagos area? How did you do it?

Did you sign up from the official site? If so, how long did you have to wait?

Did you use an address just outside the restricted area?

Or: are you on the roaming plan of ₦167,000/month?
Roaming plan is ₦167,000 a month?

Same experience in other states. Seems it's caused by congestion which is why it happens during peak period and not at night
That is definitely the case, caused by congestion during peak period.

Am I the only one suffering these crazy outages and stats?
The thing is, it doesn't happen after midnight, just during the day time. Ping success is usually around 99% and 98% after midnight, but becomes terrible during the daytime. As a result, Starlink performance is now shitty during the daytime here at my location in Abuja.

These aren't caused by obstructions as you can see that my obstruction map is quite clear.
Your screenshots are extremely helpful oo. Very precise. So, it’s definitely caused by congestion during peak period. That’s just it. Also, may I ask if you’re using V2? or V3?

If I had MTN fiber in my Estate, I would abandon my Starlink. With MTN fiber, you get a guaranteed 150Mbps at 60k. These days, Starlink is so slow and sluggish during the day time.
Well said. I’m going to have to agree with you. I wouldn’t necessarily abandon my Starlink but it would certainly be my secondary ISP depending on results given by MTN fiber.

That would explain the unusual high latency. It seems to be faster too. Getting an average of 100+Mbps, which is unusual in Abuja around this time of the day. I am able to stream large files that I typically wouldn't be able to.

Personally, I don't play online games, so I would prefer they leave it on that German server.
Didn’t know this happened! I traveled around this time period but recently came back to Abuja. Man, wish they would just leave it on that server, especially if the consistency was that good!

iAmTestedOsic:
Latency is still high up through the roof!
Wow seems like I missed the train! Germany server really seemed to make a difference.
If only we could have that same consistency with our Starlink here in NG. Haba.

I have been experiencing very poor network from starlink since last weekend.
I wanna ask if I'm the only one or it's a general problem, cos it's never been this bad.

PS. I'm on the roam unlimited subscription
You’re not d only one! How much is your subscription monthly? And which version Starlink do you have? V2? V3?

Starlink Network speed has been terrible lately especially in the evening here in Abuja. I mean what the h*ll will I do with 2.5mbps?
Please, which subscription are you paying for monthly? Also, are you using V2 or V3?

The inflation in the country is the issue. They will likely NOT bring their price down and rather pull out of the country, if forced to. They are in the business of providing service and being able to make profit. If they (Or any other business) will incur a loss by providing that service they will likely cease providing the service.
Well Said.

My thoughts exactly.

Because there are features in the ZLT X25 that are not in it, as reported by users. You can switch network easily. Also, ZLT X25 comes with UPS. The ODU, on the other hand, needs to be plugged in, or you get a standby system for it. If network is somehow in your area, you can go for the Airtel ODU (branded Nokia). It is just a bit like Starlink in that it boosts network well, etc. You can see the image. Just have to be a bit techy.
I’ve been hearing about this same arrangement with the Airtel ODU (Nokia) - may I ask what your average speeds are via MBPS?

I use the ZLT X25, not the ODU. EduTechTainMent can answer your question because I think that's what he uses.

As for the average speed, I get like 13MBPS, if I calculate the lowest with mid and highest. Top speed has always been 22MBPs even if it surges past that.

You call the speed horrific grin angry grin in your last quote; know that it depends on your subscription. For me, I did the 20MBPS. Even if there is an upsurge to 30,it still goes back to the 20s figure. So, the packages range from 20, 40, and 60 MBPS respectively. That's it.

The speed I get with downloads and my speedtest were shared on the airtel unlimited plan thread. He can check it out for better context.

Elon Musk has taken us back to the fast server 😁

I’ve noticed that when we’re on the 102.* IP range, the connection is slow. The 98.* server is the truth 🕺🏾

Maybe that's why those of us in Abuja are experiencing slower speed

Do you guys have any idea of anyone that successfuly fixed thier starlik wifi router that had power issues?
Re: My SpaceX Starlink Internet Experience In Lagos, Nigeria by Luckygurl(f): 11:09am On Oct 29, 2024

First of all, Starlink has removed Nigeria from the list of countries that can add more than one Starlink kit to an account since last year. Unless he is paying for a global roaming plan for your kit using an account from another country that allows more than one kit to an account, then he is probably lying to you about your kit being in a pool, because global roaming is expensive everywhere.

To be honest, there's little to nothing you can do. Appeal to him to remove the kit from the account. If he doesn't know how to do it, he should contact Starlink support to assist him do it.

However, if you have your way of resolving it the rugged way, like you stated, I can't advise you not to do it.
Hello
I sent a PM. Please respond if you can.
Thank you

Please what’s the way forward for “this service is currently sold out in this area” response . The device was purchased in May and had been active since then but after a transfer was done and at the point of activation, the response above pops up.
