Unfortunately you are wrong there. Lagos is a place where if you are reported to the right people you are in big trouble. They are obviously in lagos.

It is very relevant because there is an economic downturn right now. companies are laying off right left and center. We have been discussing the economy for weeks now. Jobs are not waiting out there for people.

It is also relevant because the woman is likely the one who released the video. Maybe she sent it to family and it blew up, or maybe she sent it straight to twitter. Businesses in general and Nigerian businesses in particular do dirty, shady and dodgy stuff and will be wary of employing people who can take issues to social media. Certainly not fintechs who are in the news everyday for aiding and abetting fraudsters

This could have been done off social media. Send the video to lagos dvsa. Send it to pwc hr. Same result without possible blowback to the victim

You are partly right. She won’t get a job in a Nigerian owned company easily for the reason of being viewed as a snitch . You know there are some meeting u will be inside , they will discuss some things you are not really cool with but you don’t have a choice but to separate your conscience from doing your job of listening .

For example she’s HR ; she may be in a meeting where they will be discussing how they need to pay some bribes to the police or a judge to have a case instituted by a staff against her company quashed . As part of your job u are expected to be in that meeting and be down with that management’s decision however unethical it may seem. Now having someone like her in that room will surely make her superiors uneasy cos they wouldn’t know if she’s recording or not.

She will however get job in any international company where they will not judge her based on what happens or has happened in her personal life .

A chopper that was scrapped in 2018 in Canada ends up carrying NNPC officials in 2024 in Nigeria leading to a fatal crash. I would be seriously surprised if heads roll for this avoidable tragedy.

i saw the equivalent when one office bully in my department was finally reported.
we were all called in to be interviewed
when i went for the interview one of the people i saw was a person who could somehow pass information back to the person reported
i sha went for it and dropped all the info i could
at the end of the day the person reported held his seat, and the person who did the reporting was victimized

and everyone watched it happen. i even heard that one oga at the top was berating our HOD for having people that reported.

i saw a case where an oga was engaging in fraud/diversion and expected those under her to sort it out. her direct report was sacked for nonperformance. the direct eport's replacement was in the same predicament, but played a long game of using third parties to report the oga. even then, management still quashed it. it was because we had a new oyibo oga who had not been nigerianized that the matter finally got traction.

no company wanst negative attention. i am sure you remeber teh case of it shall not be well with them imokuede. when it came out everyone called AIG out, mocked him. the man took the L and went and fortified company email and data protection. and all other naija corps did the same thing. also, AIG fished out the person who leaked the email and had the person sacked.

i am saying -
companies cover up all sorts of nasty shit all the time
companies want people who only pay lip service to the alphabet corporate culture, not mean it
companies are wary of people who show they are whistleblowers

This is pure oppression and wickedness. 😦 so a Bolt driver went to deliver something to A Politician and this happen just because the driver asked the man to come to the car to pick up his stuff!

I get your point, but I feel like it's two different things, if it was whistleblowing within a corporate setup, I'd say it applies, but in this case it hardly applies.

The video isn't meant to project her as some sanctimonious broad that's so opposed to DV that she's making a mountain out of a molehill... This was her involved in a dangerous situation where her partner was throwing all manner of projectiles her way, it's like the guy involved in the video below and you call him a snitch.

the pictures looked like when guys get a girl drunk so they can gang-rape her

i was tempted to download the picture, but i refrained from doing so - because this is the kind of shit that can get you in serious trouble if you splash it on SM. that pic was prime meme material
