As a teachers the max number of periods per week is 24.

As a timetable master, you should have mathematics 4 periods in a week. Which means at best a period or two per day.

For Economics, it should be 3 per week at most.

But how are you coping with Mathematics and Economics? Aside the calculations aspects, what else is similar between the two subjects?

Op you can use all the periods . Tell them you cant do it. My service yr. I took SS1 to 3 physics. Js3 basic tech. I noticed the agric teacher was performing some wonderful blunders in practicals. I opted in to help. The principal was like. You can handle agric as well. After a week I couldn't even teach a single class. Slow down you will just kill yourself by yourself.

Look for 3 smart students among your students. During closing time or free periods, ask them to help you to mark. They will gladly assist you. All you need to do is just to to mark corrections

When I was serving, I teach both SS1 A&B and SS2 A&B, I tech them two different subjects each. Some days I teach from 8am till 2pm, the only rest I have is the break time from 11am-11:30
Teaching work is something I'll never do.

Most Nigerian employers are more wicked than the devil, they pay peanut salary and still expect you to die ontop their mumu work.


Oga look for something else to do, you can be your own boss by arranging tutorial classes. That's what one of my neighbours is doing and she's doing fine.......Most students are having challenge with mathematics, you won't have problem attracting these students.

In class, use 20minutes strictly for teaching and 5 minutes for class exercise solution, the remainder 20 mins should be for you to use a comfortable chair in that class for marking their notes and assignments once they are done writing for that period. This way, work will be easier for you.

My dear, you should also take into consideration that I only have just 40minutes to teach, give and mark classfun and also write assignment and do Correct on previous assignment.
Remember we have slow learners among them who can't grasp on time, we also have slow writers.

Please consider learning an online skill. Google "freelance remote jobs options", pick one that interests you, find resources on YouTube to learn it better and start applying for jobs online. In three to four months, you should start getting gigs.

You can devote your weekends to this.

I'm ending anything teaching job this year. After November ends, I'm stopping for life.

If you ever felt English is what makes someone graduate, then you have a problem.

Some of us just went to school and solve physics till we graduate, as long as u can understand my statement, then it's enough.
Chinese do not speak English, Germany speak deutsh, Portugal speaks their language too.

Whenever the management says you should change and do things their way, don't argue with them. Tell them you've heard, that they're correct, and you will change. Then just ignore them and do things your way. Once in a while, you can do things their way to make them think you're listening to them.

But ignoring them is better. You'll gain nothing from arguing with them and trying to change their minds. People are set in their ways. Just carry out action and they will follow along.

This is why I usually laugh at people that think that teaching is easy simply because they are not well paid.

I was in your shoe some years ago.
I had to start learning web development during break and after school.

I now earned 400k to 500k per month.
Teaching in a private school is a complete waste of time.
Start learning digital skills of your choice on YouTube.

I currently take maths for Year 9 to 12. Each is 6 periods per week. All is 24 periods per week. But then I have double periods in each class.

This is not a good strategy.
It better the student mark it themselves, by so doing they see their misconceptions and error and they can write out the correct answers in their books.
Please note, the objective is not just marking for marking sake, but for student that got it wrong to see where they missed it and become better

Leave this kind of job, abeg.
I'm paying a guy that his only job is just to watch over workers at my site 60k monthly, and he's even stealing my materials on top of that.
A graduate shouldn't be getting this kind of pay in a place he's even being overworked.
