When I was serving, I taught both SS1 A&B and SS2 A&B, I do teach them two different subjects. Some days I teach from 8am till 2pm, the only rest I have is the break period from 11am-11:30
Teaching work is something I'll never do.

I'm paying a guy that his only job is just to watch over workers at my site 60k monthly, and he's even stealing my materials on top of that.
A graduate shouldn't be getting this kind of pay in a place he's even being overworked.

pls leave that kind of job, that was how one school asked me to be taking biology ss1-3, agric jss1-ss3 , pHe jss1-3 and also work as hostel master of the hostel, i will be taking cab of 700 daily with a monthly pay of 100k i rejected the job and left the school, i later got a job very close to my house without the need to take transport and taking biology ss1-3 and agric ss1-3 with a monthly pay of 80k. Bro see dont let them use you oooo, most of these private schools are wicked and can waste your youthful days away. Leave their job for them and look for one that won't stress you much.

Be strategic and reserve you energy
Tell each children to bring a red pen to school
Solve the questions and put the answers on board
Tell each student to mark his/ her work with red pen and make corrections with the red pen
After this, assuming you have 10 questions, do a physical assessment of student performance eg students scored 1010 should show by raise of hand, student that sore 9/10 should raise of hand.
You can also be strategic and ask student that got answer to a particular challenging question should show by rais of hand.
Using this strategy you do 3 things at the same time: marking, correction and identifying student understanding of concepts.
The only thing you mark yourself is test and exams
I love teaching maths and I always find a way to better at it and I desist teachers that complain. It's either you go management for pay rise or simply resign.

Yes, he should be strategic and reserve his energy, but delegating his duties as their teacher to the students is not okay.

His red pen and only his red pen should be seen on the students' book or handbook and there are many good reasons why it should it be done this way.

He should try to reach a compromise with the school management. Mathematics teachers need more idle time for many reasons. The authorities need an Econs teachers. It is as simple as that.

■ Mind you, I'm talking about marking for almost 70 students in a day for just only mathematics. I'm tired because the sch keeps complaining that I don't mark their mathematics workbooks. I'm up to date with Marking notes but workbooks is not same.
Also I don't have a double period in any of these classes that I teach mathematics

6-7 periods and marking 70 papers each day na slave labor you dey do. undecided

I teach mathematics jss1 to 3, physics ss1-3, so I understand everything you are going through in teaching in private schools, most parent will not understand why their wards is not bringing maths assignment everyday, they think it's laziness on the part of the teacher not knowing it's too much of work load, but I thank God just last week Monday I got a new opening and I resumed asap forfeiting my October salary and I called the admin and principal that I have gotten a new place and am gone. So the lord my God that liberated me from teaching in private schools for close 10 yrs will liberate you also before the end of this year in Jesus name Amen. Just have faith and always fast and pray every weekend and see God perform his works on you.

Teaching private children in nigeria is a disguised unemployment and imprisonment.

You have no say to any maltreatment and you are always wrong before the children, parents and Management. Even some fellow teachers who lack integrity gang up against you, using the children.

ur even responsible for ur woes ....taking 40k for that lumpsum task....my friend leave that job this month collect the last salary then relax ur head after week then go out and look for another teacher work like part time that will pay u 30 k and get another part time for 40 or 30 k assuming u no see another work do or perhaps no school decide to pay u full amount...

40k this era........I bet u ur working in a private school where they pray from Monday till fridaym...which the proprietress or proprietor being a religious person......
