Governorship elections and other elections are not based on electoral college. Why just presidential election? Governorship elections ate are decided by majority votes which ate often from major cities with highest population.

If it's by popular votes, Trump would have won with a wide margin but thanks to Chicago and NY for Harris

I never say so, what I meant is that Chicago has 54 electoral college (the highest) while NY has about 28 (these are traditional Democratic States) are big plus to Harris. Imagine securing 82 votes out 270 votes required from just 2 out of 50 states.
