Nigeria might experience harsh military takeover from the way politicians are recklessly throwing caution in the air

Govt spends billions on poverty alleviation, and yet poverty keep rising.

This is why.

The Monies only being distributed to their Loyalists who don't need the money in the first place.

Even a 5yrs old can understand why this is bad, but 40yr old clowns on nairaland can't.

Actually sad reading through the comments. Mostly from presumably youth as well, who think leaders can get into office and distribute resources meant for everyone, preferentially to a few friends. Some folks with warped minds actually think that is okay?
I really shudder to imagine what the futures like, it is well.
if he no give his friends na his enemies you wan make he give? Some of you preaching holiness here do worst even in your private life. Some of you can't do business without "man know man" factor, even employment and contracts in your offices are done through nepotism, tribalism, cultism, etc. bunch of hypocrites.

You have a problem. Of all the issues bothering FCT, the important thing is to dash loyalists vehicles. Abuja lacks mass transit bus, which leads to one chance thriving. The over inflated cost they would have put down for those 80 vehicles can buy 20 coaster bus to help ease transportation at an affordable rate since most people live far away from their place of work.

Once again you have a problem.
We know you people if it doesn't favour you, you become bitter.

Wike is like the devil. He doesn't give anything for free.
He is doing all these just to make sure he wins FCT and Rivers State for Tinubu in 2027 so as to stay relevant politically.

80 New Vehicles Bought With Public Funds Delivered To APC Loyalists In Wike’s FCT –Report

All that matters is that those given are Nigerians and that is all there is to it. Is it not even good that the FCT Minister who is a PDP member is giving out those vehicles to APC members if that is what you want us to believe!!! Or do you think Wike does not know those in PDP in FCT to give same.
After all the palliatives PBAT administration gave to all the State governors was it not shared along party lines even after hoarding of same by the governors.
Re: 80 Cars Bought With Public Funds Delivered To APC Loyalists In FCT - Monitng by hotseat: 2:34pm On Nov 01, 2024
All political parties are the same!

Go to the States controlled by the opposition parties, is the same modus operandi of disbursement of public funds.

If one is not from the ruling party of a State, be sure to be sidetracked by the Governor and his party men and women.

Wike intends to deliver the FCT to the APC come 2027 and the surest means of achieving that is to "empower" the APC members disguising it as "youth empowerment".

Nigeria, we hail thee!

If the so-called minting head honchos are liberals and true democrats with the way they allow for freedom of choice among their respective family members and employees , maybe one or two among said family members / employees could be a beneficiary of the empowerment scheme , But no , they are the type that will threaten to and even outrightly ostracize and blacklist people who would not vote the headless mob party .

You’d be surprised it’s not only online. It’s central to the modus operandi of Nigerian leaders, keep the majority suppressed, impoverished and uneducated to create a saviour complex.

What criteria was used in selecting the beneficiaries?

What are the conditions attached?

And can the media platform provide substantive proof that the cars were given to apc loyalist?

Nonsensical talk. What Wike did was a youth empowerment scheme by way of taxi driving.
Now to take a brief detour, note that the word used was "loyalist" which is a broad term you've disingenously switched out for "party member" in order to make your tedious point.

And in case you want to embarrass your education by claiming not to get the distinction, the difference is that loyalist is such a vague term that even someone who merely posts on twitter that they support a certain party could be called a loyalist. Is that a reasonable basis to deny someone an economic opportunity?

This is the bottom line: Are there 80 less unemployed youths today as a result? If yes, that's what matters no whether they are APC "loyalists"

Take it or leave it.
Please, what criteria was used in selecting the beneficiaries and what are the terms and conditions attached to it?

Why are you asking me sir? Not being a resident of the FCT, I heard about this on the news like you did I presume. That is why I started by asking the accusers to present a full case.

I then addressed their case on the strength of what they have already presented i.e the complaint that the award favoured APC loyalists.

I concluded that in the absence of other facts, this alone does not disclose an offence.

Are the APC loyalist not Nigerians?

If no empowerment, people will complain, when there's empowerment it becomes party loyalist

Nawaoooh una too talk oooh

Ok.

I was asking because I noticed you were one of those vehemently rationalising the alleged manner the cars were distributed, so I thought you had more details to justify your stance.

My stance is simple. The question of political parties is irrelevant as long as the federal character principle is upheld. Now if there is evidence of corruption that's a different story but even the accusers have not said so.

Apologises if I seem to be going back and forth with you on this.

Even with the possible adherence to federal character principle (which you are not certain about and which makes it all the more intriguing why you are sticking out your neck to rationalise the matter), don't you still think there should be clearly stated criteria to enable as many eligible candidates have a chance at this opportunity?

Especially bearing in mind that the resources used in purchasing the vehicles are state resources which are contributed regardless of ethnic, political and religious affiliations?
