I thought as much

The issue is, NNPC is still the middleman. IPMAN Has to buy from NNPC, which would make fuel in IPMAN stations more expensive than NNPC.

Also, something tells me that Dangote would not be as generous to IPMAN re sale price as he was to NNPC, especially as oil prices are slowly rising again.

Either way, na game of chess.

This is how they enter when they want to increase the price again.

Tinubu will think people are no longer protesting because they are ok with his policies not knowing that everyone is weak . His policies has drain the energy and drive to lead protest.

I just hope these same people will vote wisely when the time comes

Why's dangote group not disclosing what they are selling to the downstream sector? This is wrong and causing a lot of suspicion in the entire value chain.

The fact is IPMAN is scared to sell fuel bought from Dangote because it means that they have to sell above N1200, whether they buy from DANGOTE Or NNPC .

All in all, we NIgerians are facing a cold hard truth. Petrol is expensive. That's what many African countries had to face, and that is what we are facing now.

Any attempt to subsidise fuel to N100 or N200 per liter would mean paying N900-1000 per liter in subsides, which would cause a severe budget deficit, and force the government to take more and more loans to the max.

Simple. NNPC Is selling fuel at its stations at N1000 or more. If IPMAN buys from NNPC, they would be forced to buy at that price or close to it, and be forced to sell at a higher price...meaning they eventually lose out to NNPC

If they buy from Dangote directly, they may not get the cushy deal Dangote gave NNPC(Read between the lines. Dangote is not going to sell them fuel at a favorable price that would enable them to compete with NNPC). That means they may have to buy fuel at over N1000 from Dangote, or more....and then eventually, they have to sell fuel at a retail price higher than the NNPC retail price to survive.

SO, roughly speaking, here in the FCT where I live, NNPC stations would be selling fuel at N1000 while IPMAN is selling fuel at N1300. Already, for ages, queues in NNPC stations were longer than those at IPMAN and major marketers. See the wahala.

It is a crime for Dangote to hide the price of his products.

You didn't hide price of aviationfuel and your diesel but decided to hide price of petrol that affect the masses.

If price of currencies are quoted per second, price of stocks are known, price of essential commodities like wheat, sugar are publicly quoted, it is a grave crime for Dangote to hide his price. As a matter of fact his price should reflect the fluctuation of the crude oil in international market

On this note, the President and the Minister of state for petroleum and NNPCL owe Nigerian explanation on the opaque manner the oil sector is being managed after deregulation.

This is a call to all well meaning Nigerians, the social media activist and human right activist to step in and demand transparency.

This is one major assignment expected from the labour leaders and leaders of protesters to championed.

Femi Falana, Sowore, Deji Adeyanyu, NBA, Aisha Yesufu, VDM Ajero and political oppositions, Peter Obi and his Obidients family to speak

Failure of which you will all be seen as selfish, let Nigerians compel Dangote to daily publish the price of petrol in the media. We don't want Monopoly of petroleum products, it is economic and security crime to perpetuate that
Why don't ipman tell us the price?

Very true, but the report tells us a lot too.

It is obvious that the price Dangote is offering to IPMAN is higher than the price he is offering to NNPC wholesale. The result is that either way, if IPMAN buys from Dangote or from NNPC, they would have to sell fuel above N1200 to stay in business...meanwhile NNPC will continue to sell at N1000 or less....and get away with it.

IPMAN can't compete with NNPC In the petrol retail business.

There is no mention of NNPC in the OP article though. Rather, IPMAN is insisting that Dangote reveal the pricing of his product directly to individual IPMAN members so they can each decide, in this deregulated reality they wish to pursue, whether it is profitable to purchase from Dangote or not. undecided

MIKOLOWISKA:

Dangote would be the one to release the price of his goods to all individual members of IPMAN, is what IPMAN is saying there. undecided
He said: “Prices are determined by international pricing. Dangote is supposed to be saying like every day, ‘This is the price I’m going to sell this product’.
“But he cannot be able to do that unless he (Dangote) engages the stakeholders. And you cannot just say okay, we must only buy in his own depot.
“IPMAN cannot just sit down and say ‘We will tell our members, all of you go to Dangote Refinery and buy your product and load’. We cannot just do that. This is a deregulated system.
We have to source where products are much cheaper. Then we would inform our members to go and load product in any depot that the product is cheaper.
“If Dangote has a product and is selling N1000, let’s assume, and there are other places that are selling N900. We can’t just say because for the sake we are doing business with Dangote, ‘Okay go and do it’. It’s not profitable to us. We must go where the price is lower; where we get profit. That is it.”
Continuing, the IPMAN scribe added, “We are in a deregulated economy but Dangote is like trying to monopolize the whole issue. Fine. Let us know if there is monopoly in the whole system. But we believe that it’s now deregulation.
“Like last week, Dangote’s price is higher than other places. Because if you can go by the price, the international price, crude has already started coming down.
The price one day may not be the same the next day so Dangote, not IPMAN, would need to release the price to his buyers. undecided

There isn't but there is a lot from other reports...

Plus, while everyone is keeping quiet about the price Dangote is offering, there is a report in the Daily Trust that states that Dangote fuel is higher than the imported fuel. Landing cost of fuel as at 1st october was around N950. I've even seen another news report stating that the differential between Dangote fuel and imported fuel is N77.

(Of course things could change. Most fuel is imported from substandard refineries in Europe and maltese refineries refining cheap Russian crude allegedly. But EU governments are clamping down on the refineries, and Malta may have to stop buying russian fuel, or the Russians increase prices.).

MEANWHILE...NNPC is buying fuel from dangote at 898 per liter.

So, assuming that NNPC Is buying fuel from dangote at N898 per liter, and our IPMAN Member has to buy fuel from dangote at over N1000, either way, whether he buys from dangote or buys from NNPC that has bought from dangote....at the end, he or she is going to end up selling fuel at a higher retail price than NNPC. ..something like N1200-1500 or thereabouts.

Hence IPMAN calling for mercy on NIgerians

Whatever price you see from Dangote is not Dangote's fault. You don't know the deal he cut with Tinubu to keep that refinery alive. They were willing to destroy and bury his refinery.

My problem with you is the figure you attach to your assumption without one single fact.

Business decision are not done like that. Margin of 0.001 is very important to do a guess work like you normally throw up here.

It doesn't cost Dangote anything to tell Nigerians the price of his product. That's how it's done world over

Let them continue to import, in that case.

But there shall be no subsidy.

Watch how they would ask for subsidies which is the main racket they've been running.
Subsidy is gone and gone for ever. Worse case scenario, they will rather load from Dangote Refinery if the price favours them if you understand this report
