FreeStuffsNG:Subsidy is gone, you claim, yet NNPC is buying fuel from Dangote at a SUBSIDIZED price. Are you people certain of these claims you make? Everyone knows the price ought to be determined by international price but somehow Dangote agreed to have NNPCL decide what price to pay for the product. Where does that work? ![]() We still haven't heard the details of the Naira-for-crude deal either. We were made to believe, by Dangote, that the reason he would not buy crude directly from IOCs was because the crude was sold to him by them for a profit. Meaning Dangote, by this deal he made with the FG, sought some sort of subsidized pricing for his purchase of crude oil. Let's please consult reality in our claims abeg! ![]() |

Anything to eat subsidy PBAT should not pay any subsidy and let those who want to buy from Dangote should do so with no restrictions. The FG should leave the corridor of the downstream petroleum just like OBJ did to Telecoms in the early 2000 ![]() |

Ttalk:Basically, there are news reports that state that dangote fuel is higher than imported fuel cost wise by 77 naira. Landong cost of fuel is 950 naira as at 3weeks ago. Meanwhile the deal dangote has with NNPC says he should sell fuel to them at 898 per liter. At the end, ipman would be disadvantaged if they buy from dangote directly or NNPC. They would end up selling fuel at higher prices than NNPC to survive |

Ttalk:It was reported that Nigerians were importing refined oil products from Malta. This surprised me as I doubted Malta even has a refinery. Upon investigation, I discovered that the refined products being sold in Malta was product bought illegally from Russia. Russia can not sell its crude oil above $60 per barrel. Vs the present of $71.83 on the spot market . That simply means any refined oil from Russia would be cheaper than elsewhere. It would ve very hard competing against it. At this juncture, perhaps a 3% import duty should be placed on imported refined oil. The amount may be enough to provide a level playing field and also sufficient to prevent Dangote from becoming a monopolist. |

dre11:I think I like this IPMAN . Dangote has started with his monopolistic moves again . How can other places outside Nigeria be cheaper than with Dangote ? Just how ? IPMAN should not bend ! Any Nigerian that does not know that The latest increases in price of PMS is directly related to the launch of Dangote refinery needs glasses |

Kobojunkie:If they say their price it will force dangote to reveal his Chicken or the egg. They are all opaque together Just like normal Nigerians refuse to put price sticker on anything so they can manipulate profits We are not a transparent ppl |

Golan007:Won't it be better he does that and be called a monopolist, that this drama we are watching since? That's is the best solution but he can't do it. It's not that profitable |

Ttalk:They should say the one they have so we will know how volatile it is. So you want dangote to commit himself to volatile price? Do we not see volatile stocks and crypto prices on per minute basis Heck even garri prices we know as they change |

criuze:I don’t understand especially since it will be quoted in Naira for him to buy. Our oil is also not oil sands which is harder to extract. No way us exporting and importing our oil is cheaper unless we export 100% but only get 75% back of oil offsetting cost of refinery abroad and transportation . |

Golan007:What have removing subsidy done to the common Nigerian? We haven't seen improved medical facilities, cheaper and better education, better road networks, better and cheaper means of transportation, stable electricity, zero water supply you can name them. All we've got is high cost of living and hellish food prices |
| Re: Price Of Dangote’s Fuel Higher Than Other Sources, We Have To Pity Nigerians by rickleye: 5:32pm On Nov 01, 2024 |
Golan007:The main reason for his refinery was that we no longer have to import fuel . He built the refinery so that he could get the raw materials from us and sell to use offsetting transportation cost and delays since it’s refined locally. |

Who is telling the truth, is it Dangote or the independent marketers. Dangote said his PMS is better and cheaper than imported one, but the marketers are saying the opposite. Nigerians need to know the truth?. |

BAT..... remember your Y people, and bring that good government that will make the likes of D ever regret tying the people to his brand. I noticed one thing about D that i don't like....He hates importation. Why....? ask cement |

Teymanhenry:If subsidy had not been removed, by now salaries and other money stuff won't have been paid for months, and fuel would be sold on the black market for over 2000 naira, and we would be running out of money. |
