May Edochie, the estranged wife of Nollywood actor Yul Edochie, has addressed criticism and accusations of promoting divorce after Yul’s marriage to actress Judy Austin. May filed for divorce in 2023, citing infidelity, a decision that has since sparked backlash, with some claiming she encourages women to leave their marriages. Eyes Of Lagos reports,

In a recent interview on the Glasshouse Podcast with comedian AY Makun, May, who suffered the tragic loss of her first son, expressed gratitude for the support she receives from her online community, calling them her “family.”

Responding to accusations of promoting divorce, May clarified, “Some men see me as someone misleading their wives.” She went on to explain her values, saying, “I love family and marriage. But there’s a misconception; marriage should be the foundation of family, as it used to be.”

May firmly stated her position, adding, “Let me categorically state it now—I am not an advocate for divorce.”

There is nothing like feminism there, polygamy is very unfair and emotionally draining to wives and children, but men in their usual selfishness pretend they don't know this and continue to promote polygamy.
